Started back up with another FastBuds strain. This time around it'll be Blackberry strain hoping to do well on this. Prepped soil with added perlite and coco coir. Also mixed in some dolomite lime to boost CalMag for these autos. My fist attempt at growing an auto had CalMag deficiency.
Soaked seeds overnight and placed into root riots. Within the next day 3 of 3 sprouted. Few days later, they have been transferred to 5 gallon fabric pots. Mist them with plain water during the first week to keep humid a little higher. Sometime next week, low dose of nutrients will be introduced. Low stress training will also be applied to them. I though about using a scrog technique but I think I'll keep it simple this time.
Great progress this week. All 3 plants are showing good growth and responding well to the Real Growers Recharge. Not much to report here other than maintaining light distance and making sure they are fed. Next week should get a little exciting with training. Like I mentioned last week, I'm planning on keeping the training simple. No topping, just straight up Low Stress Training and defoliation.
They definitely responded very well to the nutrients. Will gradually increase to full recommended dosage as the days go by. Grow Big and Tiger Bloom will also be added to the mix in the next feeding. Next week I should be able to start performing some LST on them. So far so good! Stay tuned for the next update 😉
These Blackberries exploded with growth this past week 😱 Performed some light defoliation and LST on the main cola. I usually like to top my plants and have some sort of symmetry with the growth but not this time. Nutrients are at full recommended dosage along with some CalMag, Recharge, and Mammoth P.
Everyday I'll make fine adjustments on the LST to even out the canopy. Remove some fan leaves to increase light penetration to lower bud sites. Next week should be done with training and just focus on maintaining the light distance and feed them well 😉
Did some LST and the next time I checked up on them the main cola on #1 snapped 😢. Other than that, everything else is going pretty good. All 3 Blackberries are going through flowering stretch and pretty much doubled in heigh since last week. Looks like training is complete. All that is needed is some defoliating here and there but nothing major. Buds are stacking up nicely and purple is showing on all 3 plants 👍. They're also starting to smell like rubber but should change in the following weeks.
There's been plenty of work leading up to this week but all that hard work should payoff. All low stress training and defoliation is now complete. Flowering stretch seems to be over as well. Moving forward, we just need to focus on making sure they are fed. Buds should fatten up and be ready for harvest in a few weeks 😉
Not much to report this week other than removing Fox Farms Grow Big to the feed. Everything seems to be going as planned. Buds are stacking up and resin production is on point. Should start flushing them out soon.
I can't believe we're already at week 8! Gave them their last nutrient feeding early this week and started flushing them out. Flushing with molasses will continue until harvest. Looks like it'll be approximately 2 weeks from now 😀

We're towards the end of this grow and I need to decide on what I'll be growing next. Watering the ladies with just plain ph'd water with a little bit of unsulfured blackstrap molasses until harvest. I got some macro shots this week showing some amber trichomes. These ladies can be chopped down as early as next week 😀
Mixed in Dolomite line to the soil on these plants to boost CalMag. Didn't have to do much other than LST and looks like a decent yield. Will have to update in a week or so when buds are dry and cured.
These autos came out pretty good. No issues growing them this time around. The dolomite lime mixed in the soil must have supplied a good amount of CalMag. LST did't cause any stress and got good results. I will update again once I have final dry numbers and update again once they are cured and rest to be consumed 😉
Plant 1 and 3 has a very similar structure but 1 has more of a red hue compared to the purple of 3. Plant 2 had chunky indica looking buds.
UPDATE: 146 grams of quality buds! not bad for minimal LST training. I usually get about 8oz from this 2x4ft tent with photoperiod strains with SCROG. Smells heavy on diesel with some sweet berry to it 👌 Stay tuned for my next diary, I decided to grow photoperiod this time around. It was a tough choice with all the genetics I have but decided on Female Seeds Chem OG for my main grow and maybe Paradise Seeds Dutch Dragon for my small tent.
Shes looking great so far. And thank you for creating an extremely thorough diary. I am gl in ng to enjoy following this along the way. Specially since I really want to grow this strain next. Keep doing what your doing and best of luck with the rest of the grow!
@CRiSPrGrow, I actually got a 3 pack of fastbuds zkittles and lemon ak in hand but not sure if i’ll run those next as my main grow. I miss growing photoperiod and taking time with training. I’ll probably save those for my small tent.
@Short_N_stockY,
Same here....mostly cloudy, with about 10% amber is my normal time to harvest.
But when the variety is known to only be 17-18% THC, I usually let them go til they're about 40% amber so it's a little more ass-kicking.
I quit feeding mine at 10 weeks and killed it at the beginning of the 12th week. I see some Blackberry grows going for more than 12 weeks and they do seem to really fatten a lot more. I'll let mine go a week longer or more next time for sure.
The potency was such that it's really best before bed, so I'll bet it's even more hammerish if left to ripen longer.
@Silverback_Guerilla, I would say 2 weeks she'll be ready to be chopped down. I usually go by reading trichomes and I experimented harvesting all milky to mostly amber. Not really sure if it makes significant difference but then again I grow different strains every time.
Whats your take on harvesting?
200 grams per plant dry bud?!?!? That's nuts, also how did your wet weight being 150g but dry weight is 600g total for 3 plants?
I ordered 10 of these seeds the other day, gonna be popping them after my pineapple express but perhaps I'll start with 4 instead.
@TheSweetScience, there’s definitely a mix up with the final numbers. I got close to 2oz dry weight per plant.
So far I’ve had great success germinating seeds from fast buds. Good luck and happy growing!
