TUESDAY 3/12: After experiencing a ridiculous germination/emergence rate with several of my other diaries, I decided to scrap them and soak 7 x fresh Candy Cane seeds that were just harvested in the past 2 weeks. They were the result of some sneaky nanners, so I'll have to watch them to be sure they aren't hermaphroditic. They sprouted overnight and I planted them in rockwool cubes. 5 of them emerged the next day and are planted in 5 gallon pots now. WEDNESDAY: All 5, still alive.. THURSDAY: One of them is looking like a quitter... FRIDAY: The quitter looks worse, but everybody else is growing now. SATURDAY: The quitter finally withered up and died overnight, so that's just a total of 4 Candy Canes left in the garden...but at least they are doing well. SUNDAY: All 4 remaining Candy Canes are doing well-

WEDNESDAY 3/20: All 4 seedlings are doing well. Yesterday, I moved the biggest one into the other tent to smack it with some intense light...she loved it.. 3 of them have some weird shaped leaves, but I ain't complaining.. I added another 100w of blue and cool white light to the tent today. SATURDAY 3/23: Today I moved everybody into the big tent so I could clean up the small tent and set it up for flowering. I dimmed it to about 80% and placed my blue panels above my bars, so it peeks between them, and have 4 total blue 24w miracleLEDs in there as well. Temps are warmer than I'd like, (90f) but it's just for a day or two. I'll get the other evaporative cooler tomorrow...that should help in the small tent. I'm not sure which plants will be in the 4 x 5 and which will be in the 4 x 4 tent, but I'm thinking I'll grow the 2 x Tangie, 1 x WW XXL, 1 x Amnesia XXL, and the 4 x Candy Canes in the 4 x 4. I'm pushing 1010 actual watts of light in the 4 x 5 and up to 950 actual watts in the 4 x 4 (blurple-367w, 3 x 100w COBs, 1 x 120w QB, 2 x 26w red panels, 2 x 36w red floods, 4 x 36w bar side lights) So, I really don't think it's gonna matter much, in terms of wattage per square foot, which plants get grown in which tent. And, in terms of environment, it should also be nearly identical conditions because I'm gonna try a partial closed-loop ventilation method: 440cfms of my 80-85f-ish air will be exhausted through a carbon filter in the top of the the big tent, through 10 feet of duct, and into the small tent, directly over the blurple light. 390cfms of the 80-85f-ish air in the small tent is simultaneously exhausted through 10 feet of ducting back into the bottom of the big tent. I've also got a 240cfm duct booster fan exhausting from the top of the big tent through a carbon filter in the room where the tents are...right next to an open window...this allows me to keep negative pressure on both tents and to evacuate some of the warmer air out of the house. I have the a/c register above the tent ducted directly into the top of the big tent, so whenever the a/c kicks on, fresh-filtered 72f air is pumped into the tent for a few minutes, bringing down the temps about 5-10 degrees each time. There will also be a 75w evaporative cooler circulating water-cooled air in each tent, which will hopefully keep my humidity at around 50%.

SUNDAY 3/24: I watered everybody today with 6.0 ph-adjusted water and calimagic, boomerang, bud candy, armor si, microbe brew, and kelp me kelp you.. I'm now about 95% sure that the mystery seedling is a pure Candy Cane.👍 TUESDAY 3/26: Temperatures are still not under control..it got up to 103f in the small tent last night for a couple hours!! More ventilation and timer tweaking and testing tonight. Tomorrow will be their first real feeding. I'll be growing the 5 x CC's with the 2 x Tangies, the WW, XXL, and the Amnesia XXL in the 4 x 4. I don't really have the space now that I've got the new evaporative cooler in there, but I'll figure it out...I may have to take one or two outside and hide them in the bushes to let them finish.. WEDNESDAY 3/27: They got their first taste of full-strength nutes today...I gave them about 1/3 gallon each of all the good stuff, and foliar fed them a few times. They are were definitely affected by the heat from the last few days, but I think they'll be okay. I moved them into the 4 x 4 with the bigger girls, but left the mystery seedling in the big tent for now, even though I'm pretty sure it's a candy cane. THURSDAY: All 4 seedlings look great. They seem to like the environment in the small tent. I foliar fed a few times with flower's kiss + silica (Armor Si) in hopes of helping them to deal with the effects of the higher temperatures. FRIDAY: I finally gave up on the other Amnesia Auto XXL, so I moved one of the CC's back into the big tent to take it's place. The temps are still climbing too high by the end of the day, so I'm gonna have to dial back the lights a bit more in the small tent to make the difference I think.😕 I'm still running at 24/0 in the big tent for another week, and running 20/4 in the small tent. I need to get the temps at 85f max in both tents pretty quickly...I've got 4 in the small tent flowering now.. My next tweak is to just alternate the timers between the whites/reds and the blurple/white sides in the small tent while the big tent's all lit up. And only when it's dark in the big tent will I run all the lights in the small tent at the same time. If that doesn't do the trick, I can always switch to 18/6 in one or both of the tents, too, but that'd be a last resort. ***Water with kelp, cal/mag, silica and Boomerang tomorrow-

Almost have the temps stable now. MONDAY: I foliar fed them a few times and moved the bigger CC into the big tent, replacing it with the Mystery Plant (prolly also a CC) TUESDAY: I FIM'd all 4 x CC's and the Mystery Plant which I feel pretty sure is also a CC today. I fed them each about a half-gallon with all the good stuff and foliar fed a few times. WEDNESDAY: I foliar fed them a few times and took some photos. I see some pistils poppin on a couple of them.👍 THURSDAY: I foliar fed them a few times. Water tomorrow. FRIDAY: I gave them each about 1/2 gallon of water with some boomerang, bud candy, calimagic, terpinator, kelp me kelp you, and armor si. I foliar fed them a few times as well.

SUNDAY 4/7: I rotated them and foliar fed a few times. I still have 2 in the 4 x 4 and 1 in the 4 x 5, but the mystery plant is still looking very candy cane so I included a photo with her as well. Flowering nutes start tomorrow- MONDAY: I fed them about 1/3 gallon each and started them on Open Sesame and Tiger Bloom. I'll cut back on N at next feeding. I also foliar fed them twice and did some leaf tucking today. TUESDAY: I foliar fed them a couple times and did some more leaf tucking today. WEDNESDAY: I foliar fed a couple of times and rearranged the gardens. Another few days and my canopy should be pretty well leveled out...still thinking about possibly using a net in this tent. I changed out one of the 3 x 36w 660nm red floods for a string of 4 x 24w 4' 3000k bar lights which are lying perpendicular across the top of my primary light bars. The two red floods and they just come on for an hour and a half, 6 times per day...running from 30 minutes before and after the 30 minute cool-down of the primary lights....so...for 6 of the 18 hours my lights are on, I'm now actually bathing the girls with closer to 1170 actual watts of light rather than the meager 1010w they get for the other 12 hours..with increased red and orange spectra.😎 THURSDAY: I watered them with about 1/3 gallon each and included some bud candy, calimagic, kelp me kelp you, and terpinator. I foliar fed them a few times using my new 1L pressurized sprayer. Love it..no more carpel tunnel pain!👍 FRIDAY: I foliar fed a few times today and rearranged the small tent based on height rather than variety, so they are a bit scattered at the moment. SATURDAY: I moved all the Candy Canes into the little tent and fed them with about 1/3 gallon including open sesame. I foliar fed a few times today as well.

SUNDAY 4/14: Sad day...close inspection of all the plants revealed a bunch of nanners. I killed one Candy Cane and removed several branches from 2 others...I've got a close eye on them now...😢 MONDAY: I fed them each about 1/3 gallon, foliar fed, and closely inspected for nanners..found a couple here and there and plucked them. TUESDAY: I foliar fed them and closely inspected all the plants for nanners..none found today. WEDNESDAY: I foliar fed and inspected them for nanners and found one that I prolly missed, but that was it...maybe the bullet has been dodged. I moved 2 of them into the small tent and left the two taller ones in the big tent with the bigger plants. THURSDAY: I foliar fed them and inspected for nanners..none found today.👍

SUNDAY 4/21: I fed them about 1/3 gallon each today. Switched to Beastie Bloomz and increased terpinator. I inspected them for nanners and found one.. Will take some photos tomorrow- MONDAY: Life got in the way and I didn't have much time for the garden. TUESDAY: I rearranged and took some photos today. I've still got Candy Canes in both tents. One big one and one small one in the big tent, and 2 small ones in the little tent. WEDNESDAY: Took some photos and a video. WIll water tomorrow- THURSDAY: I watered with about 1/3 gallon and included some terpinator, calimagic, and beastie bloomz. The biggest one is finally starting to put on the pistils. She'll be the slowest CC I've grown to date, but also possibly the biggest yielder. The other 3 didn't do much stretching, but I did a bunch of training on them to get some separation and better light penetration into the lower flowers FRIDAY: I did some more training on them today and I made some improvements to my fresh air a/c intake in the tent that dropped the temp a couple of degrees, and the new dehumidifier is keeping the RH right where I want it..45-50%.👌 This allows the evap cooler to be more effective at cooling as well...above 50% RH and it's basically just a fan..

SUNDAY 4/28: I plucked off some dead leaves and did some leaf-tucking. All 4 CC's are looking good and the big one is really starting to bud up now.👍 Daytime temps are still hovering around 87-90f, but I've got them sitting in 70-72f temps for 6 hours of darkness now.😁 I did a little video today and I'll take a few "glamour shots" tomorrow. MONDAY: Today I see a bunch of crispy leaves on one of the smaller ones..guess I phuktup the PH again because they are getting fed everything they need. I douched everybody with 1/3 gallon including some boomerang, calimag, bembe, bud candy, and terpinator. No time for glamour shots... TUESDAY: Not much time for gardening today..changed out carbon filters and cleaned out the evap cooler basins. WEDNESDAY: I took some photos after doing a little training on a few of them. I have some sort of contagion in the big tent..leaves suddenly getting brown and crispy overnight on a few plants. THURSDAY: The 'contagion' seems to be spreading through the garden... I'm thinking maybe I completely PHuktup the ph when I added silica last time and didn't correct it?? Not sure...but it's sad..they're all gonna be less than photogenic for the finish...😟 FRIDAY: I plucked some dead leaves and misted everybody with perfectly PH adjusted spring water and increased airflow in the tent. Also decreased the dehumidifier to 45% RH. So far, the biggest one is the least affected. SATURDAY: I fed them all today and started the big one on Cha Ching.

SUNDAY 5/5: Rearranged the gardens..have 17 plants in the 4 x 5 now...yowsa! MONDAY: Plucked some dead leaves and did a trichrome check on couple of them...about 30% cloudy at most.. TUESDAY: I observed some white spots(maybe powdery mildew) on a few leaves here and there throughout the garden, so I sprayed them today with Trifecta Crop Cure, a concoction of a bunch of natural plant oils. I already decreased the humidity in the room to 45% with my new 70L dehumidifier, so I think they'll be fine. I'll spray them again tomorrow and the next day, then I'll have to hope that did the trick, because they'll be entering the harvest window over the next few days.

SUNDAY 5/12: The two taller ones leaves are getting crispy due to UVB exposure I think, but I flushed them today with about 5 gallons each of filtered, ph adjusted water, plus some Bembe, and moved the UVB lights to other parts of the garden.... and I fed the other two Candy Canes with about 1/2 gallon each, with calimagic, big bloom, tiger bloom, terpinator, bembe, and cha ching. MONDAY: I rotated them under the 2 x 15.0 reptile UVB's today and removed necrotic leaves. TUESDAY: I plucked some dead shit..and decided to give them a couple more days of 'sunshine' WEDNESDAY: They are now basking in about 2 hours of extremely intense UVB/UVA every 8 hours from my new 4' Solacure FlowerPower UV light..way late in the game, but maybe it will make them sweat a little bit more of that delicious nectar for me.🙏 THURSDAY: I spoke with the guy at Solacure and he informed me that I was going way overkill with the UVB, so I backed it off somewhat. I flushed the biggest two for the last time today and went ahead and gave the others one last dose of nutes.

SUNDAY 5/19: I accidentally left my UV timer in the "ON" position all night and half of the next day...fearing sudden death, I have moved everybody that was almost ready into the dark tent, including the biggest Candy Cane and will start harvesting them tomorrow..maximum UVB stress for about 20 hours...if it works out that they are even more potent than expected without turning brown overnight, I'll claim it was "intentional," and purport it as an "advanced technique" 😉 MONDAY: The big one still looks fine after the mega-UVB incident , so she's still sitting in the dark. She I flipped on the green light and went into the tent for a sniff test on everybody. She's got that familiar, wonderful stank on her! 😁 TUESDAY: I harvested the big one today and hung her up to dry in the dark tent. RH is steady at 55% and temp is 78-80f. I decided to start flushing everybody else today, so I put a few gallons through each of them with sledgehammer and bembe. I'll flush them once more after they've dried out. The temps in the big tent are now steady at 82f during daylight hours and 68-70f at night. I changed the lights in the big tent to 20/4 for their last bit of life and added some blue panels to further "winterize" the environment. They are still being hammered by the UVB for 6 hours a day. WEDNESDAY: I took a few photos and harvested some other plants today... THURSDAY: CC#7, the big one, was drying too quickly, so I jarred her in a big jar for the day to slow it down a bit. I'll put her back in the basket tomorrow for another day or so. I also decreased airflow a bit and turned my dehumidifier up to 50%. FRIDAY: I put the big one back in the drying basket in the tent. She had moistened back up really well. Last flush tomorrow on the others. Checked trichs and am seeing up to 25% amber on some of the buds..30-40% should be about right for some truly delicious and crippling smoke. SATURDAY: I took some photos while putting a few gallons of ph adjusted spring water through them today..I'll prolly put them into the dark on Tuesday and kill them on Thursday. Their foliage is burnt up pretty bad due to the massive UVB over-exposure, so I'll have some extra work with the trimming... 😏

SUNDAY 5/26: I jarred and weighed CC #7 today: 82g She's super sticky and smells like typical Candy Cane..pungent and a little bit hashy smelling due to letting her go to 20%+ amber trichomes. None of her buds were very big, but there were a lot of them.👌 MONDAY: Last day in the 'sun' for the final 3 CC's. I'm harvesting everything else too, so I'm leaving the lights on for a solid 36 hours before they go into the dark for a couple days.

FRIDAY 5/31: I harvested the last two today. I wet-trimmed both of them and put them in a basket in a 72f / 50% RH dark tent with a small breeze. They are super greasy and frosty. One of them was a crispy critter, and I didn't have the patience to trim away all the necrotic stuff. I'm hoping I can shake the hell out of it and get a lot to fall off after it's dry. I've just jarred up the first 2 a couple days ago and they smell wonderful whenever I burp the jars. Stay tuned for an update with sample smoke report in a few days... 6/3: All CC's are weighed up and jarred: CC#7 - 82g CC#8 - 36g CC#9 - 58g CC#10 - 54g I've reviewed this strain thrice before and, as always, I really dig it. Except for the time I had one pop some sneaky nanners and pollinate most of my garden to some degree, it's been reliably kickass. And, as it turns out, I'm actually very glad to have all those resulting F1 beans..they turned out to be some killer bud as well!👍
