SUNDAY 3/10:
I soaked 6 x Candy Cane x Auto Amnesia seeds harvested over the past two weeks in my most recent crop. A Candy Cane had popped some hidden nanners that pollinated a few flowers on one of my Amnesia Autos (and other plants). I'm interested to see (and smoke) the results of this hybrid.
I'm expecting a super short time to harvest, and very aromatic and delicious bud with a tendency to self-pollinate, so I'll have to be diligent if they do grow up to be big girls and ensure no sneaky nanners can spoil my crop. Can I get some hybrid vigor, say "Amen!"🙏
TUESDAY:
By the end of the day today, 3 have emerged😀👍
WEDNESDAY:
I planted two of them in 3 gallon pots today...tap roots a couple inches out of the cubes👍
THURSDAY:
The third one still wasn't rooted well enough to plant, but the two that are in 3 gallon pots are looking good.
FRIDAY:
I planted the 3rd seedling today. The first two are doing well.
SUNDAY 3/17:
All three seem to be growing-
WEDNESDAY 3/20:
All three seedlings are looking healthy and strong. I added another 80w of 6500k cool white and another 36w par38 440nm/6500k blue/white spot to the tent, and increased the amount of blurple from 18 to 20 hours per day. Temps went up a bit, but nothing critical. I ordered another evaporative cooler for the second tent and have rigged my ventilation to hopefully maintain negative pressure and run all my air from both tents through 2 carbon filters.
SATURDAY 3/23:
Today I moved everybody into the big tent so I could clean up the small tent and set it up for flowering. I dimmed the lights to about 80%, but placed my blue panels above my bars, so it peeks between them, and have 4 total blue 24w miracleLEDs in there as well. Temps are warmer than I'd like, (90f) but it's just for a day or two. I'll get the other evaporative cooler tomorrow...that should help in the small tent.
I'm not sure which plants will be in the 4 x 5 and which will be in the 4 x 4 tent, but I'm thinking I'll grow them with the CC x C4's and the mystery seedling.
I'm pushing 1010 actual watts of light in the 4 x 5 and up to 950 actual watts in the 4 x 4 (blurple-367w, 3 x 100w COBs, 1 x 120w QB, 2 x 26w red panels, 2 x 36w red floods, 4 x 36w bar side lights)
So, I really don't think it's gonna matter much, in terms of wattage per square foot, which plants get grown in which tent.
And, in terms of environment, it should also be nearly identical conditions because I'm gonna try a partial closed-loop ventilation method:
440cfms of my 80-85f-ish air will be exhausted through a carbon filter in the top of the the big tent, through 10 feet of duct, and into the small tent, directly over the blurple light. 390cfms of the 80-85f-ish air in the small tent is simultaneously exhausted through 10 feet of ducting back into the bottom of the big tent. I've also got a 240cfm duct booster fan exhausting from the top of the big tent through a carbon filter in the room where the tents are...right next to an open window...this allows me to keep negative pressure on both tents and to evacuate some of the warmer air out of the house.
I have the a/c register above the tent ducted directly into the top of the big tent, so whenever the a/c kicks on, fresh-filtered 72f air is pumped into the tent for a few minutes, bringing down the temps about 5-10 degrees each time. There will also be a 75w evaporative cooler circulating water-cooled air in each tent, which will hopefully keep my humidity at around 50%.
SUNDAY 3/24:
I watered them with some boomerang, bud candy, calimagic, microbe brew, kelp me kelp you, and armor si.
TUESDAY 3/26:
Temps were too high last night after moving the bigger girls into the other tent. More tweaking on ventilation and timers...
WEDNESDAY 3/27:
They got their first taste of full-strength nutes today...I gave them about 1/3 gallon each of all the good stuff, and foliar fed them a few times. They are were definitely affected by the heat from the last few days, but I think they'll be okay.
THURSDAY 3/28:
I foliar fed several times with added armor si to hopefully alleviate the problems from heat stress earlier this week.
FRIDAY:
The temps are still climbing too high by the end of the day, so I'm gonna have to dial back the lights a bit more in the small tent to make the difference I think.😕
I'm still running at 24/0 in the big tent for another week, and running 20/4 in the small tent. I need to get the temps at 85f max in both tents pretty quickly...I've got 4 in the small tent flowering now..
My next tweak is to just alternate the timers between the whites/reds and the blurple/white sides in the small tent while the big tent's all lit up. And only when it's dark in the big tent will I run all the lights in the small tent at the same time. If that doesn't do the trick, I can always switch to 18/6 in one or both of the tents, too, but that'd be a last resort.
***Water with kelp, cal/mag, silica and Boomerang tomorrow-
I'm wanting to replace all my miscellaneous lights with another quantum bar rig before my Fall grow this year.

============================================
SUNDAY 3/31:
I foliar fed them a few times and tweaked the lighting timers again...getting closer to the perfect temperature range for flowering.
MONDAY:
I foliar fed them a few times today.
TUESDAY:
I FIM'd all 3 of them today. I fed them each about a half-gallon of all the good stuff and foliar fed a few times.
WEDNESDAY:
I foliar fed them a few times and took some photos..tweaked timers a little more..
SUNDAY 4/7:
I had to water a couple of them today with just enough to last til a feeding tomorrow. I guess the airflow is drying them out too much on that side of the tent. I foliar fed them twice and rearranged a little bit.
MONDAY:
I fed them today with about 1/3 gallon each. I started them on Open Sesame and Tiger Bloom today and foliar fed a few times. They are branching very well now. I did a little leaf tucking on them before I put them to bed.
TUESDAY:
I foliar fed a couple times and did some more leaf tucking today.
WEDNESDAY:
I foliar fed a couple of times and rearranged the garden. Another few days and my canopy should be pretty well leveled out...still thinking about possibly using a net in this tent.
I changed out one of the 3 x 36w 660nm red floods for a string of 4 x 24w 4' 3000k bar lights which are lying perpendicular across the top of my primary light bars. The two red floods and they just come on for an hour and a half, 6 times per day...running from 30 minutes before and after the 30 minute cool-down of the primary lights....so...for 6 of the 18 hours my lights are on, I'm now actually bathing the girls with closer to 1170 actual watts of light rather than the meager 1010w they get for the other 12 hours..with increased red and orange spectra.😎
THURSDAY:
I watered them with about 1/3 gallon each and included some bud candy, calimagic, kelp me kelp you, and terpinator. I foliar fed them a few times using my new 1L pressurized sprayer. Love it..no more carpal tunnel pain!👍
FRIDAY:
I foliar fed a few times today and rearranged the tent based on height rather than variety.
SUNDAY 4/14:
I'm so depressed...a couple of my Amnesia x Candy Canes had nanners popping up on them. Mainly on the mainstems. I removed the affected stalks and branches and am watching them closely....about a pound of young buds ended up in the bubble hash bag...😪
MONDAY:
I fed them each about 1/3 gallon, foliar fed, and closely inspected for nanners..found and couple here and there and plucked them.
TUESDAY:
I foliar fed them and closely inspected all the plants for nanners..none found today.
SUNDAY 4/21:
I fed them about 1/3 gallon each today. Switched to Beastie Bloomz and increased terpinator.
I inspected them for nanners and found none today. Will take some photos tomorrow-
MONDAY:
Too busy to spend much time with them today.
TUESDAY:
I rearranged and took some photos today. There are 2 of them in the small tent and one in the big tent.
WEDNESDAY:
I watered the one in the big tent and took some photos and a video. Will water the ones int he small tent tomorrow.
THURSDAY:
I watered with about 1/3 gallon and included some terpinator, calimagic, and beastie bloomz.
I did a bunch of training on them to get some separation and better light penetration into the lower flowers
FRIDAY:
I did some more training on them today and I made some improvements to my fresh air a/c intake in the tent that dropped the temp a couple of degrees, and the new dehumidifier is keeping the RH right where I want it..45-50%.👌 This allows the evap cooler to be more effective at cooling as well...above 50% RH and it's basically just a fan..
SUNDAY 4/28:
I plucked off some dead leaves and did some leaf-tucking. The two remaining colas on the good one in the big tent (the one I had to chop off 5 big potential colas) is really starting to bud up now. She'll make a pair of 10" colas. The bigger one in the small tent still has the big curl going on with her leaves..doubt they straighten up. The new growth looks more normal, but still I'm sure the problem was that the soil was just too compacted for her roots to flourish. I'll continue prodding and poking with a skewer to loosen the soil and get oxygen to the roots. The smaller, daintier one that I had to remove a couple branches from is stretching her remaining branches now and starting to put on the pistils.
Daytime temps are still hovering around 87-90f, but I've got them sitting in 70-72f temps for 6 hours of darkness now.😁
I did a little video today and I'll take a few "glamour shots" tomorrow.
MONDAY:
I think I phuktup the PH again because they are getting fed everything they need and still showing signs of various deficiencies. I douched everybody with 1/3 gallon including some boomerang, calimag, bembe, bud candy, and terpinator. No time for glamour shots...
TUESDAY:
I was busy again today, so no glamour shots..
WEDNESDAY:
I did a little training today and finally got around to taking some good photos.😎
A couple of plants in the tent, adjacent to one another, suddenly got crispy leaves..(contagion?)
THURSDAY:
The 'contagion' seems to be spreading through the garden...
I'm thinking maybe I completely PHuktup the ph when I added silica last time and didn't correct it?? Not sure...but it's sad..they're all gonna be less than photogenic for the finish...
FRIDAY:
I plucked some dead leaves and misted everybody with perfectly PH adjusted spring water and increased airflow in the tent. Also decreased the dehumidifier to 45% RH. I moved a lesser plant into the small tent and a better Candesia into the big tent.
SUNDAY 5/5:
Rearranged the gardens..have 17 plants in the 4 x 5 now...yowsa!
MONDAY:
Plucked some dead leaves and did a trichrome check on the furthest along.
TUESDAY:
I observed some white spots on a few leaves here and there throughout the garden, so I sprayed them today with Trifecta Crop Cure, a concoction of a bunch of natural plant oils. I already decreased the humidity in the room to 45% with my new 70L dehumidifier, so I think they'll be fine. I'll spray them again tomorrow and the next day, then I'll have to hope that did the trick, because several plants are already in the harvest window.
SUNDAY 5/12:
I flushed one of them today with about 4 gallons of ph adjusted filtered water plus Bembe and Sledgehammer and fed the other two about a half gallon including terpinator, calimagic, big bloom, tiger bloom, bembe, and cha ching.
MONDAY:
I rotated the plants under the 2 x 15.0 reptile UVB's today and removed necrotic leaves
TUESDAY:
I checked trichromes today and plucked dead shit..
WEDNESDAY:
I'm definitely gonna flush the other two tomorrow..their trichs are suddenly all cloudy.
I installed my new 4' Solacure FlowerPower UV light today...little late in the game, but maybe it'll make them sweat a little bit extra nectar for me.🙏
THURSDAY:
I flushed the bigger one for the second time and decided to hit the others with nutes once more.
SUNDAY 5/19:
I accidentally left my UV timer in the "ON" position all night and half of the next day...fearing sudden death, I have moved everybody that was almost ready into the dark tent, including the two Candesias that had already been flushed twice, and will start harvesting them tomorrow..maximum UVB stress for about 20 hours...if it works out that they are even more potent than expected without turning brown overnight, I'll claim it was "intentional," and purport it as an "advanced technique" 😉
MONDAY:
The big one (Candesia #2) still looks fine after the mega-UVB incident, so she's still sitting in the dark tent. I flipped on the green light and went into the tent for a sniff test on everybody. #2 smells more like an Amnesia than a Candy Cane. Ima kill her tomorrow and let her hang dry. The small one with polyploidy (Candesia #1) in the dark tent, also looked fine, but to keep my workload smaller tomorrow, I went ahead and harvested her today. She smells and looks more Amnesia. She was wet-trimmed and is in a drying basket. The other two (and the mystery plant) are still in the big tent under lights. I will probably start flushing them tomorrow..but maybe they will just get watered..kinda slow to cloudy all the way up.
TUESDAY:
I harvested Candesia #2 today and hung her to dry in the dark tent. She got more of the Candy Cane genetics, but her aroma is special. Candesia #3 got flushed for the first time today and moved directly below the UVB. I lowered the lights by several inches and increased the lights to 20/4 for their last week in the "sunshine."
WEDNESDAY:
I took a few photos today of the living after trimming a few harvested plants.
The high temp in the tent is now just 82f, and it drops to 68-70f while it's dark I added some 450nm blue panels to try and "winterize" the environment a little more.
Candesia #3 has the aroma of Candy Cane, but is really kind of a unique color palette,..not like the Amnesia or Candy Cane parents.
The mystery plant is definitely a Candesia.. the aroma and bud color/shape is unmistakably that of her Amnesia Auto mother. She's Candesia #4..also known as "Pipsqueak", due to her diminutive stature.
THURSDAY:
Today I realized that a plant I thought was a Candy Cane is actually a Candesia! She's now known as Candesia #5...she's the one that I had to remove the main stalk which had already FIM quadrupled..butchered...sad day.
She's fattened up a little bit, but is still kinda puny. However, she's more resinous than any of the other 4.👍
FRIDAY:
I'd say they've got about an average of 20-25% amber trichs now..second flush tomorrow.😀
SATURDAY:
I flushed them for the last time today with a few gallons of ph'd spring water only.
I took some photos, and it will likely be their last photo session until they've been harvested.
I'm seeing a lot of UV damage to the leaves from the 20 hour blast I accidentally gave them. They'll be fine, but it's just gonna make the trim job a little harder.
SUNDAY 5/26:
Took some photos of the remaining 3 plants...sexy!😍
I also weighed and jarred the first two today. Their pistils withered up into a fire engine-red color and they are super frosty and stank-o-licious! Looking really forward to smoking this uber-rare, accidental hybrid!

Happy Harvest Day!
Candy Cane x Amnesia Auto - Custom Breeder & Strain
FRIDAY 5/31:
5/31 - "All dead, all dead...all dead and gone."😔
I harvested the last 3 of them yesterday and today. One was wet trimmed and the other two were hanging dry for 36 hours and were semi-wet trimmed today before being put into drying baskets. The temperature is steady at 72f and the RH is steady at 50% with a nice gentle breeze.
I'm gonna try to let them cure for a few weeks before I dig in, but I'll update with more photos and a sample smoke report in about a week-
MONDAY:
Candesia #1 was dry today, so I weighed and jarred it up: 38g
It is so sugary and turning a deep shade of pink as it cures...sexy!😍
WEDNESDAY 6/5:
I weighed and jarred up the last 2 plants.
I couldn't resist...smoked a few bong hits...dis shit is da bomb!
Final tally:
Candesia #1 - 38g
Candesia #2 - 37g
Candesia #3 - 52g
Candesia #4 - 35g
Candesia #5 - 42g
FInal thoughts:
Considering they were accidental F1's, and the fact that I pretty much decimated a few of them when I spotted a few nanners here and there (to ensure I had a sensimilla crop this time), they yielded pretty well...and the quality of the smoke is absolutely amazing. It's as potent as any photoperiod dispensary bud I've ever smoked. No lie. I don't know if it's the genetic pairing or the fact that they were exposed to horrendous amounts of UV-B light for the last couple of weeks, but this shit totally kicks the ass of me and everybody I've shared it with thus far. I mean, wow...scary strong, and super tasty!
Yield would have been about 1/3 better except for the nanner-extermination, so I can't blame them for that..it was bred into them, can't fault them for that.
When I grow it again, I'll overplant the hell out of it and just cull anything that pops a nanner altogether so as not have to butcher my babies.😖
Potency: 10/10
Yield: 6/10
Flavor: 8/10
Aroma: 8/10
Bag appeal: 9/10
Yes, only I have these magic beans...muah hah hah hah!!!😈
