I had one more seed of this strain laying around...and EVERYONE loved this strain. I'm super excited to grow it again! There's nothing that comes close in terms of smell and flavor. I think I had a good yield of it last time....hoping I can meet or beat that! Was a great all around smoke. This seed is probably a year old at this point...she popped in about 4 days. So far she looks healthy....putting on some height. I've got her planted pretty low in the netpot to try and decrease the time it takes for the roots to appear below the net pot. We'll see how she goes...last time she went 70 days. I'm expecting about the same.
Looking healthy! I just gave her the first grow nutrients. Going to give her another day or two and bring her up to maybe 200ppm. Time to get growing! Roots are exposed, one is already about 8 inches long. Really focused on root development at the moment, but I think in a day or two she’ll be ready to handle a bit more nutrients! Leaving her be for a day or two longer.
Off to an odd start. Plant is doing okay, but leaves drooped a bit over this week. A lot of temperature and humidity fluctuations going on because of the seasonal changing going on here in Chicago. Not sure if my environment is causing the stress. Nevertheless, new growth looks great. Root system is looking fantastic, too. I’m hoping to see some significant vertical growth and bushiness over the next week.
She’s a healthy little plant. A bit slow growing but she has healthy roots and leaves. No signs of any stress or issues. She’s handled the weather changes pretty well. Hoping to see her start stretching a bit over the next week or two.
She’s starting to fill out a bit more. Nice and short, with tight node spacing. I’ll boost her PPM to 350ish today and then start some training over the next week. I expect a stretch soon, and then we’ll see where she goes from there. She’s a bit slow growing right now, but she’s healthy.
I accidentally deleted my week 6 when updating week 7. Oops 👿
You can interpolate my photos and draw your own conclusions on this one. Sorry, guys. Nutrient and condition data is correct for this week.
So..this plant is starting to switch to flowering, but I'm giving her a bit more of the veg nutrients. We'll see how she does over the next few days...I've been strategically defoliating to allow for a flatter canopy, but no LST. She's a bit slow going, but she's healthy and she smells great. I have a White Widow that is taking up almost the entire tent, so if she stays a bit small for another week -- I'm fine with that. But we'll see what happens. I think she'll start doing a bit of a preflower stretch soon. Gave her a bit of a dose of nutrients today -- about 465ppm of the stated blend. After this photo, I gave her a light defoliation where bud sites were being covered. I updated a few things in my tent so I should have a better control over humidity. Working on some upgrades and some new experiments in another tent.
This post is dedicated to Cookie, who was a FastBuds Cream Cookies plant who lost her life in a battle with a CFL light bulb. I know she would have wanted me to keep growing... I'll see you up there, Cookie 👆
Plant is finally filling out nicely. She’s stretching and has bulked out, too. Nice and flat, which should make good for budding. She’s been slow growing, I think mostly due to the tent conditions. I added a heater that keeps it around 76 Fahrenheit 24 hours. Trying to see if that’ll help her take off. Would like to see some bulking up and budding this week.
Plant is finally taking off. She’s shown a bit of a stretch this past week and has started forming budlets. I gave her a defoliation and lollipopped lower branches to concentrate on bud growth. She’s at least got 3-5 weeks left, but she’s filled out nicely. We’ll see how she does.
Plant is super bushy. I cut more lower branches because I don’t want popcorn buds. I also defoliated a bit. Will likely do one more defoliation in a week or so, but then I’m going to leave her alone for remainder of grow. She’s drinking a ton of nutrients and handling a very high PPM for autos, IMO. She smells great and seems very healthy, just slow. However, this seed was about a year old. Last of the batch. We’ll see what happens over the next few weeks.
She’s taking her time, but it might have been a result from my pruning and defoliation. She’s starting to put on some weight now. Hoping she’ll go another two weeks so I can get some weight on her. New roots are appearing like crazy. She’s handling very high PPMs for an Autoflower. No signs of nutrient burn. Hoping to see a nice amount of bud growth this week. Trichomes are in full force. Nice lemon smell.
She is taking her time, but is finally filling out! Buds are starting to really bulk up. She’s at least got another week in her. Hoping to get a bit more density out of her. Smells very lemon-like. Trichomes are abundant and clear.
100-DAY LEMON is shaping up! She’s got some nice weight on her. She’s just starting to turn orange pistils, so I’m gonna give her about another week.
This girl grew so big she gave me no other choice but to move my other two coco plants to my other tent with my photos. So she’s the queen of this tent til she’s ready to harvest. Very nice looking buds!
I normally don’t update except weekly, but I changed her nutrients today - a day or two early - so I’m calling it week 13. She’s on mostly late stage nutrients. No more Big Bud. Dialed down the Bloom Part A a notch to reduce nitrogen slightly. Added Liquid KoolBloom. Am using Armor Si because I’m going back to GH and ran out of Rhino Skin. (GH is so much more potent, btw. More for your money, IMO.). Also using GH’s CALiMAGic. We’ll see how she does over the week. I think she’s got potential for more bud weight, but I don’t want to push her. Right now the buds have nice density. She’s covered in trichomes. Has a nice smell to her.
On that note, I bumped up the Terpinator this week to try and boost her smell and taste. I loved the strain last time and I know she’s going to have a lot of white pistils when she’s ripe. I’m thinking she’s nearing her end...
Here we go now! She’s finally getting ripe. She’s put on some nice bud weight all the way through to lower branches. Nice looking color and smell to her. She’s covered in trichomes, as you can see in closeups. Really excited to harvest this girl. I’m expecting to put her in flush in 1-4 days. Trichomes have mostly clear heads still. But I don’t want to push her much more. We’ll see!
Put her into flush on day 98. Plucked most of the fan leaves and am going to harvest her on day 99. She smells amazing, with an extra boost from the Terpinator. She’s got nice dense buds, covered in trichomes. She’s very sticky to the touch, too. I am glad she put on as much weight as she did, and I think the Liquid KoolBloom really pulled through on that. This will be my last grow on a full Advanced Nutrients lineup; going forward I’ll be using General Hydroponics again. Matter of preference. Will post harvest pictures once she’s dry and I can get a true dry weight on her.
Really like this strain. My second grow, and it looks like I’m going to get a better product and yield this grow. Really happy with how she grew. I didn’t do any topping, just strategic defoliation. This plant consistently produces dense buds. Tons of trichomes on her. Smell is not super strong; could be grown stealth I think. Really excited to smoke this strain again. Friends are already asking me when it’ll be ready!
UPDATE: This bud is curing, but I'm snagging buds from it pretty often -- she came out of the tent ready to smoke. She flushed well, has a very nice aroma. It's almost got a hint of herbs and not an overwhelming lemon, but the citrus is still present. The high IMO is a heavy head high, but it's still creative and productive. My girlfriend says it's "more like a body high" -- so I don't know. Either way, we both really like it -- and we normally don't like the same strains. So, with about 4 days of being in the jar for curing, she's been a great bud to smoke. If you can find these seeds, I'd highly recommend them! 👌
Super happy with my yield on this plant. She took longer than expected, but turned out nice dense buds all over. Lollipopping worked well on her. She handled cold temps for a while, which probably slowed her growth.
@JKT48, great question! There are probably a few factors if I had to guess. This seed is about a year old, so I’m not sure if that affected it at all. It was the last seed out of a pack of 6.
I am under the impression that the biggest impact was probably the coldness I experienced a month ago. It was impossible for me to get my temp in the tent over 70 because of the weather changes outside. All of my plants seemed to really slow their growth during that period. Nothing else really changed.
@@Chi_Town_White_Boy, actually I have a question about that. How did it exceed it’s 60 day “limit” by so much? Did you do something special to it, or that’s just the way your phenotype is?
Looks good I think I might follow along. Tasty smoke you say eh? The tastiest I've had are auto-glueberry and a photoperiod Blueberry, both had the most intoxicating smoke, so I'm looking for something equally special. Good luck.
@@@Chi_Town_White_Boy, howdy, Well I'm going to have to put it on the list. That's actually the biggest problem with Autos, you want to grow everything ;¬)
tl;dr Autos are more fun.
my Auto-Glueberry, was from Dutch Passion, so all I can say is the ones I've tried which was that one and a Blueberry photoperiod grown outdoors from a place called marijuana-seeds in the Netherlands. And I can say that the Auto Glueberry I grew that had the same chocolate minty, beefy, complex delicious taste as the Blueberry, but it got banished to the garden. (it's all in the grow) However I have two beans left and that will definitely be in the next grow. Maybe all the strains with the word 'blueberry' in it have this quality. I do not know, I can only say what I've tried.
I used to grow photoperiods from clones 20+ years ago, pretty well the same as I'm doing now but with HPS, instead of LED. For me Autos have been an absolute game changer. The biggest pain in the ass for me with photoperiods was the 12 hour dark period, it's so annoying.
To not have to care about the light which also means it can be in an open room meaning I can make it really minimal and simple. I can start seeds and put them in the room at any time. All in a tiny little space because they're autos. That's my take anyway.
I'd like to do a photoperiod for fun where I grow it as long as I need to to train it into some sort of bonsai a foot tall, but at the moment I'm happy to experiment with autos. I want to try growing three plants out of one of my hydro pots. So the total size is equal to one big plant, I'm thinking about it. I might have to wait until I come across something that will work. Or I might just do two at first.
For me vaping has also been a game changer. Not actually smoking the material, just vaping off the volatile oils means the entire concept of taste from badly cured buds doesn't matter. I knew my glueberry from the garden was going to be a winner when I clipped a fresh bud off and cut it up and dried it in an over on 80C for 40mins, and I could instantly taste all the wonderful classic blueberry flavours. Imagine that putting a fresh chopped bud in the oven for a quick dry must be about the very worst think you can do to make the most horrible dope to smoke. But stick that in a vape that is purely convection only and it's not very far from the finished product.
I am currently working on new ways to cure my dope because I think this fixation on making buds look pretty, is the wrong way to go for me, that's for sure. Now I will crush an ounce of cabbage, into the size of one of the old film canisters. You know the ones that would hold a roll of 35mm film. I've just tried it and while it doesn't look as photogenic as a pretty bud with all the lovely trichomes falling off, it smokes better and gets you more ripped because you losing nothing, you don't see the trichomes any more because they are all soaked into the buds.
And Autos are really so much fun to grow. I haven't even grown one and let it do it's own thing yet. My aim is to get the plant as good as I know it can get, without using any additives at all, then and only then will I be in a position to do more testing. I don't even have any trick lighting, like UV or Far Red in the 730nm band. Best to see what a plant can do without that first otherwise you never know.
@Freddd, the lemon is amazing! Probably the best smoke I’ve ever grown. I mentioned to my buddy I was doing another batch of it and his eyes lit up 😍 I don’t know why it took so long for me to grow it again 🤷♂️🏻
Auto-glueberry is from FastBuds, right? I’m growing their Zkittlez Auto right now and it smells literally like skittles. Probably most trichomes coverage of any plant I’ve grown, too, which surprised me.
I have to grow a blueberry. What do you think about autos vs. photos? I seem to get healthier, more resistant plants with photoperiod - and it seems also a better smoke. I don’t know why, but any thing that grew as a photo for me seemed to be a better harvest and smoke (my blue dream seed bag said Auto, turned out to be photo). Curious what your experience has been...
Looking good ... Just got done harvesting a Northern Lights Auto and a AK-49 Auto myself. Check out their diaries if you can, I wish you the same success. Good luck with the rest of your grow.
