Hey all my fellow growers! 4 my very first grow journal here on grow diaries & 1st time growing a photoperiod plant I’ve decided 2 grow Crop King Seeds Sour Jack strain.It's a 70% sativa 30% indica hybrid of Sour Diesel & Jack Herer.Although on the Crop King Seeds website they recommend using just regular soil with no nutrients whatsoever for the first 6 weeks I used my own judgment & decided 2 plant my 2 girls in fox farms ocean forest soil and for its first week of veg I'm giving it a very small dose of fox farms big bloom which I have always had wonderful growth results with in the past.Both of my plants have responded nicely 2 the soil & nutrients & have started growing at a very nice pace this first week 👌👄💨
The girls are still doing wonderfully,growing like crazy.They are responding so well to the big bloom that I upped the dose a little and also added a small bit of grow big this past week.
Well after 3 weeks my girls are still doing wonderfully well.This grow has actually turned out to be one of my better starts to a grow.This being not just my first photo period but also my first sativa dominant I was very worried to say the least but even if I have troubles to come which I'm sure I probably will I'm far more confident about it now.A couple of days ago I transported them in to 3 gallon pots and they literally grew about 1 inch over night when I did.Over the past week they have grown a total of 3 inches.I'm not going to allow them to grow any more than a foot though until I put them in to flower because I've heard how crazy growth can get with sativas.I also will be adding cal-mag plus in to their diet this week and taking a half a tsp off of the big bloom.
Everything is still going great with my grow.Both of my girls are healthy & have experienced no deficiency issues or anything.Today is my final day of veg and I will be making the switch to 12/12 tomorrow.One of the plants is growing at a more rapid rate than the other but I'm hoping that the little runt will catch up to her sister when she starts the flowering stretch.👌👄💨
Well folks I'm at the end of the very first week of flower now & everything is still running pretty smoothly except for a few issues that I've been having with humidity levels and the temp when the lights are on for the 12 hrs.I'm going to be putting a air conditioner in in the next couple of days because the temps that I been getting in the part of the u.s. that I live in is still pretty hot & humid on a lot of days other than that my girls are still healthy and doing well.The biggest one has continued to grow vigorously over the past week & my little girl has grown some but she's not were I would like here to be at this point and her internodes haven't stretched out much since my last update.However everything is still Gucci though lol👌👄💨 ✌️
Hello & welcome back 2 my diary peeps.Today is day 14 of flower for my two Sour Jack girls.This past week I kept them on the same dose of nutrients that I had them on last week however in a couple of days when its time for their first feeding of the week I will now be incorporating Tiger Bloom in to their diet & probably eliminate the Grow Big nutrient all together unless my girls show me that they are lacking enough nitrogen in their diet.Both of them are starting to smell a little bit & they both have not finished their stretch just yet.I've been giving them nothing but water the past few days in a attempt to flush out any built up nutes that were in there so that when I start them on the Tiger Bloom they will be able to take it all in and start working on building up those buds for mama lol.Thanks for stopping by & if u like my journal than please click like lol.Until next time peeps stay high & stay blessed😉 👌👄💨 ✌️
📝SOUR JACK DIARY UPDATE📌
Today marks the 21st day of flower for my babies and tomorrow they'll be entering into week 4.The girls have stretched out some but not all that much.I suppose it's for the best anyhow considering I have had to raise my led to the very top of the grow tent.I’ve noticed some slight yellowing on some of the top leaves and I don't need them growing up into the light anymore cause there isn't but 17 inches between them.Ugh I'm only dealing with a 2x2x4 grow tent at the moment so I don't have a whole lot of space to work with.Aside from all of that this has been a easy breezy strain to grow so far.I’ve had more issues with some auto's than what I’ve had with this sour jack👌👄💨
📝SOUR JACK GROW DIARY UPDATE📌
Hi & welcome to week 4 of flower for my two Sour Jack girls.Last week I had a issue with my led light being to close to the top of the tallest plant & causing some slight yellowing but since than I was able to raise the light up a little bit more & tame some of the branches away from the light by way of bending and tucking stems & leaves that no more yellowing has occurred.A side from the light being a pain in the ass everything else has been ok.They have both responded very well to the nutrients that I give them & for the most part I have managed to keep the conditions in the grow tent suitable for the flowering stage👌👄💨
📝SOUR JACK GROW DIARY UPDATE📌
It's the very last day of week 5 of flower and my girls have finally finished their flowering stretch,thank the lord🙌.The biggest one stands at 37 inches however it would be even taller than that if I hadn't taken extreme measures & super cropped the main cola this past week because it was growing into the light & my leaves were yellowing on top.The smallest one is a whole 6 inches shorter standing at only 31 inches. Everyday they are growing more pistils and the smell is becoming more powerful.I’ve cut the grow big nutrient out of their diet and have given them only bloom nutrients along with cal-mag plus this past week.The big girl that I super cropped bounced back very fast and is growing to the light and has a nice size knuckle on the stem were I broke her👌👄💨
There isn't very much to report on this week except the continued growth of hairs and the buds slowly getting bigger day by day.The smell is also becoming stronger everyday and is becoming a little harder to mask.

👌👄💨Everyday my Sour babies get just a lil bit bigger & the budlets continue 2💪bulk up in size.In addition over the past couple of days I have noticed that some of the hairs have started to turn amber so I'm at a very nice stage in the grow game & at this point it's pretty much just a waiting game.I’ve made it through this grow so far with very few issues a side from my tallest Sour girl growing into the light & me having to super crop a couple of the branches along with the main cola stem dead in the middle of flower😢However even in that situation the plant was very resilient & made a full recovery & although I don't think I'm going to get as much yield from her as her lil sister who happens to be on the thick side lol,I think her yield will still be descent.As far as grow difficulty is concerned and resilience,this Sour Jack strain from Crop King Seed's is a easy grow & if the🔊LOUD AROMA📢 & ❄️FROST❄️sprinkled all over the leaves are any indication this is also going to be some good smoke,some fire I hope.
Bud's are still growing & getting bigger by the day & the smell is absolutely amazing.I have my girls on a heavy Tiger Bloom feeding schedule at 4 tsp to the gallon.I'm starting to grow just a lil bit impatient waiting on them to reach full maturity.I'm going to be moving at the end of the month & I'm super worried about the possibility of having to move them to my new place unharmed & incognito.I will definitely be seeking all of your advice if it comes to that but hopefully it won't & their be ready for harvest before that.
OK as of this week I started to flush both of the girls.I would like to go another couple of weeks & allow about 5% of the tricomes to turn amber but I'm going to being moving very soon so I'm gonna have to harvest them a bit sooner.As of now they are all very milky & cloudy and the smell is mmm mmm good.

👌👄💨 Hello Grow Diaries Fam! I'm back 2 finish my Sour Jack diary.I wasn't able to finish documenting my diary 7 months ago because I was in the process of moving & was forced to harvest my two girls early.However I had two more of Crop King Seeds Sour Jack seeds and started a new grow around 15 wks ago with the intention of picking back up where I left off & not posting anything on here until the end of week 14.Unfortunately one of the seeds didn't make it during the seedling stage so I was left with only one.My grow environment,grow lights & nutrients are the same as it was the 1st time around.I did however go with a 7 gallon pot this time instead of a 3 gallon and I also topped the plant a couple of weeks into veg at the third node.As of today my girl has been through 10 wks of flower and the diesel aroma is even stronger than it was the first time.She is incredibly sticky and iced out in trichomes.
Does putting your plant in 48-72 hours of darkness before harvest really produce more trichomes?I've never tried it before and I'm curious to know if its true or not.
Hi there! Well this is a common cannabis legend, the theory is that by going dark, it stresses the plant into one more push of resin in a final effort to get pollinated....Some says it will also result in a better tasting product with a final 'explosion' in aromas.
Even if the theory is right, I personally am skeptical since this never happens in nature. Because there is no "yes/no" answer to this question, I suggest you try on 1 plant and compare with another one who haven't been through this final darkness. 👌👄💨 Hello Grow Diaries Fam! I'm at the end of week 11 of flower & my Sour Jack baby has packed on a little more weight this week.A lot of the pistils have turned amber,around 50-60% however many of the trichomes are still clear & I want that milky sh*t lol.I started the flush this past week & I've only been giving her water with 1/2 teaspoon of blackstrap molasses for more of that frost.This is the longest I've ever grown a plant & I really hope it pays off in the end.I was disappointed with the yield that I got from her sisters last year,only a little over 2 ounces from both plants combined because of me having to harvest them so early.I'm going the distance with this one though.

👌👄💨 Welp Grow Diaries Fam it's FINALLY time 2 harvest this Sour Jack girl of mine.Although this wasn't my 1st time around the block with this strain,grew two others last year which u can see some of in the beginning of this diary,it was a far better over all experience than it was the first time.All of my grow conditions were the same except for just a few slight differences. I went up in my pot size from a 3 gallon to a 7 gallon and this time I also topped the plant which by the way was my 1st time using that method and lastly I also put the plant in to 48 hours of darkness before chopping her down which was also a 1st for me.I more importantly than anything allowed her 2 fully develop & harvested at just the right time which I wasn't able to do with the other two last year because I was in the process of moving & had to harvest a couple of weeks early. I'm very happy to report that it most definitely paid off.This one plant yielded what both of the others did combined & I found that the 48 hrs of darkness did increase the trichomes to a little bit.Overall it was a simple grow just as it was the first time.I didn't have any issues with deficiencies of any kind & she always bounced back very quickly anytime that I performed any LST on her or defoliated any leaves.Other than the amount of time that it took to grow I have no complaints about this strain.The bud is a very smooth head high.Its a little more of a daytime strain but its also smokable at night.Its going to make u feel motivated & creative as well as relaxed at the sometime. If you have the time than I would definitely recommend growing this strain at least once.

@JUNGLE_B4RNS,Yea I figured it was the light and I'm doing what I can to tie down some of the stems and branches.So far I got it under control and there has been no more yellowing.
@TheFairyBudMother,Yea for my next grow I'm most def gonna invest in one but I think I'll just ride this one out because I'm gonna get a bigger grow tent after this and I don't kno what size i will need yet.
Looking at your lady's, your light might be a lil bit too close, this is why she has short internodes, LED's has a very deep penetration. This is the only thing I could notice, otherwise all the rest is perfect we can really see the plants are healthy 👌
@JUNGLE_B4RNS,I think u might be right about that because the smaller one is just a hair bit further away from the light where as the bigger one is almost directly underneath it.It probably isn't raised high enough to penetrate all of the grow area as well as it should be.I took your advice & moved the led up a couple of inches this morning.Hopefully that will help the internodes start to stretch out some so I can start LST on it like I have her sister.Thanks a bunch for your input 😉

I had my LEDs (2 Viparspectra 300s @ 136W each) at 26" from the tops of my plants. It may have been too far but it definitely wasn't too close.
@TheFairyBudMother,Thanks a bunch and I often wonder the same thing myself about the number of female growers there are on here i've seen a few so far but not very many.As the bud industry grows & becomes legal in more states hopefully more of us girls will take a interest in it.
