I broke a branch and ended up taking that little cola bud because it was clearly dying and as for the rest of the plant which I had WAY overfed and proceeded to flush for the past two weeks I decided at the guidance of a pro to try and get her to finish up with dry kool bloom, hurculean harvest and a tablespoon of molassesday before yesterday. Buds that were sad started to perk right back up and I see a little foxtailing today. The leaves on the underside are still green and there are just a few trichromes starting to haze up. Overall I think I’ll get a save and the chalk this up to a learning experience in switching from nectar for the gods to general hydro and getting a nutrient buildup In the soil. My other little projects and diary’s while having similar though less heart breaking challenges are moving right along now and my NFT hydro is absolutely mind blowing and the direction I’ll be headed in the future. thanks for looking.

2.5 weeks into flower and her leaves are yellowing in a way I haven’t seen before as if it’s from the inside out??? The past few days she has slowed in stretch and growth? Soil based and half organic nectar for the gods nutes. been let to dry out between watering. Posting photos.

Sorry brother just saw this today. Your question must have gotten pushed back especially if there was a lot of people asking questions. Who ever told you it was a potassium issue guessed wrong. If it was potassium the edges of the blades would be browning and the leaves would start to curl and become brittle by now. Looks more like a zinc deficiency issue possibly a boron deficiency or both. Pretty unusual. Its typically due to having a ph above 6.5. Another possibility is an excess of phosphorus can cause this type of lockout also. Your in a state of "nutrient lock" this is why your buds aren't bulking up. I would give her a light flush with 2-2.5 gallons of ph correct water in the 5.9-6.3 range. Add nutes back into the last quart or half gallon. Check the ph of the runoff the first time you run water through her this will give you a better idea if the ph of the soil is higher or lower than what your putting in. Also if you have a TDS meter see what the ppm is of the runoff. It wouldn't surprise me if it was pretty high. Let her dry out a bit more than usual after your flush. Hope this will get her back on track you still have enough time for those buds to fill in. I'll follow your grow. Good luck.

Well this looks very interesting, I'm one week into a MobyDickxxxL auto right now. I've come here looking for clues. Looking at that shot on Week Two, it's not possible for me to believe that is two weeks old. It's at least three or four. So I'm going to add two weeks to every date. So the Flowering week four I'm going to consider week six.

@Freddd,that was absolutely in the middle of the second week! I’m on day 10 from germination in my other stardawg and blackberry diary in NFT. Look at the difference 3 days made. I just added photos. Especially Moby Dick and amnesia come out of the gates screaming. I simply messed up and over fed her too early and stalled it in week 3 of flower.

Clean those old dead leaves from soil. You had deficiency its easy to spot. I would check run offs ph more than ppm. Anyway you drop all nutes during lockouts .... And you water for a week atleast and return with small doze of nutes at first feeds again ... Keep on growing ! My question is not answered aswel, but if everybody will share and support it will be better ..

@AsNoriu, I did a nice runoff and it was 6.5

@AsNoriu,thank you very much! I’ll check the runoff today and get back to you.

So your soil is safe. Heal the plant. deficiency can start from shock - like defoliation ... Buy epsom salt , keep just water for 5 days( or 2 waterings ), then one watering with epsom salt, later one watering with your chosen nute line just half of recomended doze. Thats one way what i would do , but it could be strain related and she needs to be fed a lot and you should increase your nutes and calmag suplements. Maybe molases for soil to pump up. You should rethink why it happend, how strong is your feed ( moby dick is a huge plant. i saw some time ago that strain on potsquatch grower chanel on youtube) and make your moves from there. Lets hope somebody knows for sure. Now ppm would tell you which story it is aswell ;)

DinafemSeedscommented6 years ago
@AsNoriu, Fantasic answer 👍 Moby Dick XXL can be a heavy feeder but the feed needs to be increased gradually and as needed. We always advice that you check your ph and e.c run-off this typically gives a good indication of how much feed is being taken up and will let you know your ph coming out also 👍 By the look of things she's now back on track and looking good 👊 Just in time to pack on that weight 👌 Keep the updates coming my friend 👍 All the best ✌️ Mark..

Could it be nitrogen toxicity from too much fertilizer I just run into a problem like this and they were turning yellow from the inside out and dying I perform a flush my PPM were 4000 + even though pH was at 6 do you have some fan leaves stems looking purple do you have the leaves with the claw are the leaves easy to pull feel weak if the answer is yes you also must have some deep green shiny and your Leafs this is nitrogen toxicity and what it does it makes your plant not grow and also makes you not produce good buds in fact you might see you buds foxtailing you seem pretty and vans in flowering nevertheless to get bigger fatter but you need to bring your nitrogen on check test your PPM out of your run off and should be a thousand or below if not flush it until you get those numbers pH is very important but your problem is not caused by pH is probably too much nutrients. Put some clear pictures of the bottom of the Leafs and the top part of the plant where the leaves are changing in color look at my journal to see if you are suffering something similar to mine

@DinafemSeeds, Hi Mark! Today is watering day and I suspect you might be correct and I’ll be taking a runoff ph test again and the devil will be in the details for sure with straight water.
DinafemSeeds
DinafemSeedscommented6 years ago
@ThatoneAKguy, considering the issues you've had you have still managed to create some lovely looking flowers with amazing colours 👌 I do think the issue was to much feed as your run-off is still at 700ppm which is around 1.4ec. You need to get this down more but as your on the flush now this will not be needed 👍 I do think you that the harvest is more closer to 14-20 day's away and not 5-7 day's 👊 Are you checking trichomes colour and development mate? All the best✌️ Mark..
ThatoneAKguy
ThatoneAKguycommented6 years ago
@Canadian,the runoff is 650-700. I’ve done feed, feed, water and it dries out between waterings. Usually a little more than a half gallon until it runs off. The buds are swelling quite a bit this week actually and she’ll be done in 6-10 days as some of the trichs are starting to haze up this morning. Thanks for your comment! I’m just going to flush her now.

Wish I could help dude but I'm hydro man...I cant grow in soil for love nor money 🤷‍♂️
ThatoneAKguy
ThatoneAKguycommented6 years ago
@@hydrohippy, roger that! As kind of a baseline I figured I’d start 1/4 strength after I had good root structures. Going to have a 4 gallon res for four 6” rock wool cubes on two pumps with a UPS batter backup on a digital timer.

hydrohippycommented6 years ago
@ThatoneAKguy, I've only ever used Canna Aqua that is for recirculating systems, nutrient film technique(NFT) What ever feed you use dont do full strength!!
ThatoneAKguy
ThatoneAKguycommented6 years ago
@@hydrohippy, I have all my parts and pieces for my new system and I’ll be rolling with it in the next few weeks. Thinking of trying to keep it simple with general hydro nutes unless you have a different direction an intermediate guy with a new system should try.

@ThatoneAKguy, mine is outdoor so I need some sunny days ;)
ThatoneAKguy
ThatoneAKguycommented6 years ago
@CoastGrower, here’s what I’ve deduced in growing autos. They need the best of everything to be a big yielder. It takes a few times to figure it out too. The common denominator is that you can stall them with over watering and of nutrients. It’s real easy to push them too far trying to give more. Always keep the nutrients low 1/2 or less and if you have a good light keep it far away if you want it to stretch. The stretch spaces out their nodes and gives you the potential for more flowering but without great lighting that will never happen and you will get whispy buds. So it’s better to have them dense and dank on the short stick. My new NFT has some crazy growth and we’ll see in about 3 weeks if it’s going to pay off or not. Check it out. It’s insane.

@ThatoneAKguy, my current diary is about defoliation. Think twice ;) Still have no answer on that question... check, this week i made one more defoliation wave. We shall see...
ThatoneAKguy
ThatoneAKguycommented6 years ago
@AsNoriu, well it looks like I got away with it and she’s plenty strong. You never know what they are going to do until you experiment. This week I was compelled to even do some light defoliation to uncover cola sights. The proof will be in the numbers I guess.

AsNoriucommented6 years ago
@DinafemSeeds, would never top so early ... 4th node without baby spinach leaves incount is the earliest. @ThatoneAKguy never do LST or any other training on fresh plant, do it before your watering cycle. Never had any broken branches or early clones in my life. Pour plant after it. Work with one, water him after and then take new plant to work with. Always worked for me. 0 broken branches in all my life ...

@DinafemSeeds, Hi Mark, how come my XXL is only just about to flip at 7 weeks but this grow has buds already at five? Do they take longer to mature if they can grow bigger roots?
Freddd
Fredddcommented5 years ago
@ThatoneAKguy, I can't believe my XXL auto is 7 weeks and only looks to be flipping now, prolly gonna be another two weeks before there's any flowers at all.
ThatoneAKguy
ThatoneAKguycommented6 years ago
@DinafemSeeds, Hi Mark! I’ve got it jar curing right now and will probably let it go for a few weeks just to get the best out of it and let the chlorophyll break down. She has a very mild and earthy smell to her but was covered in trichomes of which were 75% hazy which is a personal preference so I’m sure it’ll finish a project then vacuum the house when you’re done type of flowers ;)
