Great germination rate but had issues using root riots. I had a few seeds get stuck and just rotted. Not sure why I even bother using these things but I'll stick to using them for clones.
It was a tough choice with the variety of genetics I have but decided on the Chem OG by Female Seeds. I plan on having 2-3 plants to SCROG in this 2x4ft tent.
Transferred root roots into soil. Final pot size is 5 gallon with Mother Earth Coco Peat blend. Giving the girls Ph'd water with some Real Growers Recharge. Fox Farms Trio will be added to the feed. 2 of the 3 plants seems stunted due to the transfer.
After transferring them, their growth was stunted but seems to be doing good now. 2 of 3 plants are small or 1 of 3 is big depending on how you look at it. Got abnormal growth on the big plant, would that be a double fan leave? It's eventually be defoliated in the next couple of weeks.
Added Grow Big to the feed and the plants are responding well. Defoliation and topping will soon to follow.
#1 has been showing good growth and looking healthy
#2 abnormal growth - hoping she'll grow out of it
#3 the runt 😕
I was hoping to have at least 2 good ones so I can setup my scrog but I don't know about that now. I just topped #1 this week but I might have to change my plans.
Single plant SCROG??? germinate some autos and fill up the tent for flowering???
Major change of plans!!! I made the decision to cull the runt and the one with abnormal growth. Only 1 Chem OG plant left that has been transferred into the small 2x2 tent to flower with a Dutch Dragon by Paradise seeds. I'm germinating some autos right for the main tent.! keep an eye out for my new diary.
Introduction to the Dutch Dragon - Germinated along with the Chem OGs but didn't bother creating a diary. Dutch Dragon was supposed to be alone in the 2x2 but the keeper Chem OG will join her to flower. Trained the same way... topped and LST
Switched to 12/12 this week and did more training. Chem OG got some light defoliation and maintain even canopy by LST. Dutch Dragon got same, defoliation and LST.
Looks like Chem OG will be growing like a sativa and Dutch Dragon more on the Indica side. It'll be interesting to see how deferent they develop.
I just expect to remove big fan leaves over the next couple of weeks to get good light penetration to the lower buds. Nothing major for training, just small adjustments moving forward. As far as nutrient, Nitrogen is being throttled back and boosting Phosphorus. See you on the next update!
2nd week into flowering - adjust feed and defoliation throughout the week. Nothing much to report... no signs of pre flower yet but the ladies are starting to stretch.
This coming week I expect to do more extensive defoliating on the Dutch Dragon 😉
Welcome to another update of the Dutch Dragon and Chem OG. They finally made the transition from veg to flower.
Dutch Dragon is already forming pom moms and really getting bushy. Trying to defoliate every few days to get better light penetration to the lower bud sites. Just did I would say a major defoliation and I don't expect to do much moving forward. She should focus on the flowers and not new leaves.
Chem OG also showing flowers but she's going to be a tall one. She stretched a lot over the past week and I hope she is done. I have a very limited vertical height and she might get too close to the Quantum Board.
So far everything looks good. Just need to made sure the ladies are fed. If the Chem OG run into the lights, there's not much I can do.... maybe just reduce power but it's what it it. See you next week for another update.
Bad news for this weeks update 😢
Early this week, I noticed some Thrips eating the leaves and I immediately treated the plants with insecticidal soap to rid of the pest. Looks like I got rid of them but the damage is done.
Did more defoliating on the Dutch Dragon but not much on the Chem OG. All there is to do now is keep them fed.
Looks like we still have a Thrips infestation. The insecticidal soap I have states it is safe for fruits and all but I just don't want to spray any more chemicals this late in flowering. Whatever I harvest from here will be processed for extract. I'm a little bummed out but I still got my Zkittlez going strong in the other tent. 😟
Got a pretty bad infestation of Thrips. I tried insecticidal soap and they just came back after a couple of days. I though about cutting my loses and starting fresh to prevents any infestation on my other tent. Unfortunately, the main Zkittlez grow ended up getting some Thrips as well. This time around I purchased 5 million Nematodes Sf and treated all the plants a couple of days ago. We'll see how it works out. Stay tuned for the next update.
Decided to get rid of the Chem OG early this week. She wasn't doing too well due to the Thrips infestation. Nematodes Sf seems to have worked, I haven't seen any Thrips over the last few days. The Dutch Dragon ain't pretty but she'll still receive proper care and nutrients until harvest.
Had Thrips infestation that I didn't get a handle on right away. She ain't pretty but I took care of this one until the end. She is currently drying up right now. I'll update with more pics and final numbers in a couple of weeks. Thanks for the support to all of you!
