First off, this will be my last GrowDiary. In which I will use the paper towel technique 😡...
😮💨 But let's start from the beginning....
Started with the paper towel technique. Made the paper towel nice and moist, put the seeds on, covered it with a towel, moistened it again, and put a plate on top. Perfect (See photo👆)
✅️ Ambient temperature 24°C
And then the fun began...
After 4 hours, everything felt super dry... then I made it moist again... After what felt like 3 hours, the same thing... At times it felt like they were already drowning in water...
This game went on for 3 days 😮💨
Since I have 2 more ladies (you can also find their GrowDiary with me) where I used the glass of water method 🥛 for germination. They were pure luxury 🤣😝 in comparison...
So, thanks but no thanks to the paper towel technique... there are better methods
Otherwise, she is now ready for the next phase
... I’m excited! 🤗

- Planted in BioBizz-LightMix in about 0.5 L pots. (Of course with the root down 😉)
- Light: 18/6 & 75 μmol / 60cm away
- Water: 0.1 liters / 7.0 PH (Until a bit ran out the bottom)
Day 2:
- Did nothing, just let it be 😋
Day 3:
- Water: 0.1 liters / 7.0 PH (Until a bit ran out the bottom)
Day 4:
- Light: 110-115 μmol
- Water: 0.1 liters / 7.0 PH (Until a bit ran out the bottom)
Day 5:
- Chill day ✌️😁 (Nothing needed)
Day 6:
- Light up to 145 μmol
- Water: 0.1 liters / 7.0 PH (Until a bit ran out the bottom)
Day 7:
- Water: 0.1 liters / 7.0 PH (Until a bit ran out the bottom)

After over 25 years of germinating seeds, I've also found the best method for me. For years, I laid the seeds on kitchen towels. Now, I toss them in water with a few drops of hydrogen peroxide for 36 hours, and as soon as the taproot is one cm long, they go straight into the soil in Solo cups, which are then watered from the top and bottom. I can recommend this as the best method of all. No issues with the delicate root growing into the paper towel and no problems keeping the paper towel just the right moisture level, not too wet.😉

@Stony_German, Power 😍 you confirm exactly my suspicion... I even wanted to try hydrogen peroxide for the next germination. Maybe you have a tip for that too. I've heard about using a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution with a ratio of 1:3 water. So for example, 25ml of 3% hydrogen peroxide to 75ml of water. But how do you do it? Tap water or distilled? What do you recommend?
