Germination
1y ago
Splashy 4 out of 4 have germinated. I had the light on for 24 hours since germination, I hope that didn't harm the little ones. I noticed it on day 6 and corrected it right away.

Splashy In the 2nd week of flowering, I discovered pollen sacs on 2 plants. I removed the few I found and am now observing daily to see if more develop. If more come, those 2 plants will end up in the trash.

Splashy Three of the "ladies" have grown too big for me, and I had to think about what to do. The light can't go any higher (in the 180cm tent), and they're still stretching. I initially wanted to top them, but I was advised against that on Discord; I should rather crop them. I took the opportunity today in the 3rd week before watering to lollipop and defoliate a bit at the bottom. After watering, I cropped them, at least the ones that had grown too big. I had to crop them down from 145cm to 120cm and hope they can handle it. Good old Bernie advised me to give silicon when I discovered the hermaphroditism (I found a few pollen sacs developing and removed some every few days, flushing them down the toilet; since then, none have appeared anymore, maybe about 5 per plant). For 3 of the ladies, he suggested adding silicon since he had never had hermies with it, and it benefits the ladies. I ordered it from Plagron the same day and added it with the next watering. I noticed that the pH value drops drastically when you add the silicon. So I had to get some pH up because I didn't want to water with a pH of 5.7. Now I'm pushing the value up to 6.3-6.5, and so far, the ladies are looking good. The smallest one is and remains a late bloomer; I think she's about a week behind compared to the others. I'm still giving her the same feeding schedule and seeing nothing negative.

Splashy Slowly, 2 out of 4 ladies are showing signs of deficiency. I don't know what could be causing it, I can only attribute it to the fertilizer itself... I'm also getting annoyed with mixing 8 bottles every 2 days. Despite doing that, I have deficiencies in every grow. I'll try fertilizing the next grow with greenhouse nutrients and see how that goes. I have no problem watering every 2 days, but dealing with all these bottles is really starting to get on my nerves. If only you could be rewarded for getting through without deficiencies, but no, that's not in the cards. After the initial pollen sacs, no more have shown up, so I'll always add silicon to the watering in the future.

Splashy The harvest time has been moved up to now, I've already chopped 3 of the 4 ladies. They hung in the tent for 9 days and were trimmed when the thick stems cracked slightly. I cut one plant in a trim bowl, but it turned out very fluffy and looked totally ragged. I think the ladies were still a bit too moist to work with; I then trimmed the other 2 by hand. Now they're in a kind of grove bags and are curing. The last of the 4 ladies is still in the tent and will also be chopped by me in the next few days. She was the problem child and has stayed about 2 weeks longer, but she has developed quite well. I put her in my other tent and left her there until the other 3 ladies could come out of the big tent and be trimmed. Now the problem child is back in the big tent and is spreading out quite nicely. Pictures will follow next week. I'm glad when the vcure from vivosun arrives and I no longer have to deal with the action of drying and occupying the tents.

Splashy She's really turned into a monster. Since I had 4 plants in a 1m x 1m tent, they supported each other's branches, and they didn't really get strong enough to hold themselves up. That's why they're hanging down like this, and I didn't want to get easyrolls just for one plant. So she filled the entire space in the tent and gave it her all. Tomorrow's the day, and I'm harvesting her; this time I won't hang her in the tent but will dry her in a hanging net with dryfermbags. It'll be my first drying attempt with the bags, and I'm curious to see what they can do. Oh, and the other 3 each yielded 110g with still 73% moisture left; I think the problem child will yield a bit more. The rest that's over the allowed amount will, of course, be disposed of…

Splashy With the last plant, which was the problem child, I decided to leave it for 2-3 weeks longer. Now the trichomes were partly amber, so for me, it was harvest time. I used the hanging net that came with the exhaust set for the first time and put the buds in the DryFermBags as best as I could and placed them inside. I have a static fan running at the bottom and the exhaust set to 25%. I will keep an eye on the humidity in the tent over the next hours and days and adjust the exhaust higher if necessary. The next run will be with the Lemon Cherry Cookies Auto, I'm really looking forward to the strain!
