Growmebig Put them in water 1 week ago (8 Days). still in seeding stage, but listed as 1st week veg. Still messing with the Athen Nutrients, trying to get EC and PH correct with my RO (HydraLogic Stealth RO 150). I suspect my Meter is messed up, So I ordered a Blue Lab pen meter. Until it comes in, I go strictly by PH (5.8) and feed about 10ML every other day. The Bud Cups drain from the bottom, So they are not overfed. 1 more week, and ill transplant them to their 5 Gallon Bag of 70/30. Same mix they are in now, treated with the Athena Presoak Mix. So Far, so good. The one that was missing a leaf when it sprouted is growing at the same rate and glad I let it grow- As recommended by several people here.

Growmebig Day 14. Transplanted from BudCup to 5GL Bag. The Roots on one (the one that only had 1 original leaf, ripped in half due to the roots not going to the bottom of the Bud Cup. If I use Bud Cups again, Ill have to let the stay longer till the Roots are stronger. Will not try the Topping Technique next time, at only 1-1/2 weeks old. Definitely messed the Growth up - On Both.

Doesn't hurt to put it up early... better to put it up at the height you want before the plant exceeds that intended height. So, if you need to conserve as much vertical space as possible, make sure you set the first scrog at a height that still allows you to do basic things -- like irrigate. Then, as the plant approaches, slow tuck and train as necessary to reach your end goal for canopy. It's wise to work backward from how many vertical colas you want to fill the space by the end of flower. This way you avoid over-crowding as well as waste time growing unnecessary plant mass that will only be pruned off etc... You don't need to exceed 3-4 colas per sq ft.. that will not improve yield. it'll just cause smaller, more-distrubted bud mass. The net doesn't block large portions of light, so no worries if you set it up slightly early... much more difficult to drop it down on a plant that has already exceeded the height you want to set the first net. Risk physical damage stripping off a leaf or a branch that is now slightly rigid and might snap as they age naturally. scrogs are awesome.. refine your path and reduce wasted growth/resources. This shortens vege time and saves you effort/hassle.

Growmebig Day 15 was the start of week 3, that's when It really started growing. Ive read through many Diary's on Gorilla Cookies, And Raised the PH to 6.5 and cut the Light down to 20/4. I also set the AI Controller to use lower settings at Night, as per the fast buds Page, and everyone's Diary. Trying to Tune everything in for this next week. On Day 20- They started using more water/Nutrients. The top of the Surface gets dry daily now. Hopefully in week 4, It starts to take off.

Growmebig Day 27- The end of Week 4. The growth on 1 is getting out of control. Feel life maybe I shouldn't have topped it. It's wide with probably too many Leaves. Almost touches the sides of the 2X4 Tent. I feel the feeding is dialed in, Temps are correct, everything I think is good, except for the Growth (width). The next two days will be researching trimming techniques. I have LST Clips, but the short height and gap from top of media to top of bag makes it very hard. Definitely changing things for next time. The Smell is a lot stronger then I anticipated at this stage. The Carbon Filter is working awesome, but definitely leaves its mark in the Air, when I open the tent to feed, and put water in dehumidifier. I will Probably move the dehumidifier out of tent for this reason.

How do I Defoliate this beast? Should I worry about it? Or just let it go? What are your suggestions?

Train the branches away from each other, first. If that is not sufficent and you have a lot of leaves overlapping and causing constant condensation, selectively remove as few leaves as possible. Avoid creating empty gaps in canopy, as light capture is the whole goal, lol. increasing how much light completely misses the plant is not a positive. In future, have a better plan to avoid an over-crowded canopy. When done right, you shouldn't have to make tough decisions about defoliation. Avoid it. Waste less growth, time and resources, too. 10 colas bunched up isn't going to end well... Plant on left looks fine as is. The one on right looks a bit over-crowded. Sometimes need to let it grow out horizontally enough before you top. Keep spreading it out as best you can. You only need about 2.5-3 colas per sq ft to maximize yield (relative to end-size of canopy)... going beyond that mostly just causes same mass but more/smaller buds. Generally means more time trimming too. If you stick to that, you don' tneed to defoliate at all.

Growmebig Day 35 - Last Day of Week 5. Right after last entry, I said I hope it starts growing taller. I think the next day it took off, and has been going at it for a solid 5 days now. Did some defoliation and LST to spread it out. Had to move the humidifier out of tent - do to no too, and its not needed, the dehumidifier is now running in lung room. The second, smaller plant has caught up to. and a little taller than the one on the right. Lesson from last week. I thought I was feeding good - until a friend came to troubleshoot the CalMag deficiency and the growth on left plant. He picked the plant up (12 hrs after I fed) and moved it outside on a table to inspect. it was very light, almost no nutrients/water. I was not feeding to runoff- I was guessing. Now, I know to feed till runoff, every time. the next day after this, They both starting growing tall, and have not stopped yet.

Growmebig Day 42- Last day of Week 6. Learned this week. My CalMag Deficiency Ive had from the start of Veg was due to me feeding at 5.8. I read a lot about growing in Coco and decided to try feeding at 6.2 - Both looked better within 4 Days. The Smaller plant on left was always small and yellow. It's the tallest now and looking great. I will definetly continue to feed at 6.2PH. Started adding PK (small amounts) since I'm in flower. Put my net up, and defoliated.

Into week 8. The Left one shot up, and I had to raise the Light. I can't raise it any more (photo attached) What would you recomend? Cut the left ones shoots down to the level of the one on Left? Turn Light down, and make the right one suffer for it?

HST -- snap those fuckers down 5-6" below the other canopy, and the tip will turn back upward and roughly even out. Becareful not to sever the stems while doing it... if too brittle/rigid, this might cause more damage than help. Try to weaken the stem in a spot before doing it. what gen fuckall label did they put on it? supercropping?

Day 22. Fed today IAW Athena Guide. 2-3in dry back. Used about 1 Gallon each plant to obtain Proper Runoff. The Runoff PH'd at 6.1 and had a 2.9EC. All within recommendations. They are growing wide- Fast, after the Topping. Maybe next time I'll Use a 3 Gallon Bag for Auto's, and fill them up to 1in From the Top of bag. They are hitting the Sides before they cleared them- In height.

Day 12. Not sure cutting the 2nd set of leaves off was the right thing to do. Time will tell. The leaf has some yellow, prob fro transplanting them and cutting on them. The Nutrients are mixing perfect now, that I go. Pen and a good meter. PH is 5.9, EC is 2.1, Runoff and everything tests good.

Day 9 - I followed the Athena guide - and cut the 2nd set of leaves off. I am following their instructions to a T, for my first grow. I'll post pics of the aftermath in 2 days. Everything Ive read, state top at 5 or 6 nodes, none this early.

At the end of Day 8, the Leaf looked dry and curling a little. I borrowed a PAR meter from someone, and realized the Humidity Dome was proving 600PPFD's so I turned it down to 5, so it has 300 PPFD's. Hopefully tomorrow, the leaf will look normal again. If it does, I'll switch to 24Hr Lighting. I received an Accurate EC Meter- From a reputable company, And tested the Feed water. 5.9PH and EC of 2.1. Perfect per the Instructions ATHENA provided.

6 Days since I placed seeds in water. Another week, I'll remove from BudCups and place in 5 Gallon Bags. 70/30 CoCo and Perlite. 1st small feed (2 ML) was yesterday and it definitely darkened the leaves for today. grew about 1/4 in overnight. Observed from leaves being under cup rim yesterday, 1/4 in above today. Still in an AC Infinity Humidity Dome that I keep the Soil Temp at 79% (adjustable Mat) and the humidity high. So Far, So Good.

Both Seeds Popped the surface at 48 Hrs after placing in water. 1 of them had 1 single leaf (or single leaf didn't Split). Both are going good, and now have 3 and 4 leaves. Figuring out the Feeding mix and schedule with Athena Chemicals now. Getting ready to add some at the end of this week. AC Infinity AI is taking care of the environment and keeps it exactly where I need it.
