All plants germinated in 24h except for the blueberry cookies which took a day longer than the rest to germinate and because of this she is still a little smaller than the others. When she germinated she had yellowing on the tips of her cotyledon leaves but this hasn't affected growth as she is still growing strong. The Ayahuasca Purple and Black D.O.G are showing purpling on their second set of fan leaves, I believe the cause is the cold temps.
Nothing much to say this week, all the ladies are healthy and growing strong.👍The Blueberry Cookies is still smaller than the others but she is catching up pretty quickly.
Watered the ladies as usual yesterday but they dont seem to be happy with me. Going to drop the humidity a little till they recover. This week I am planning on transplanting the ladies from their solo cups into 7gal pots and I will also be giving them their first feeding. I have lowered the light from 150cm - 100cm above the plants. I am going to be using coco peat for the first time in this grow which I am very excited about 👍

Today I transplanted all the ladies from their solo cups to their 7gal pots, all their root structures were white and healthy 👍The plants have almost all recovered fully from last weeks over watering except for the Double Stuffed Sorbet which I will be keeping a close eye on. Im looking forward to some fast growth now that they are in bigger containers.
I am using a 70/30 ratio of coco to perlite.
All the plants are now 5/6 nodes tall so I will be mainlining them this week once they have recovered from the transplant and overwatering. I am planning on mainlining them 3 times in order to produce 8 main colas. I will also be giving them their first feeding later this week once they have fully dried out.
This week the ladies also started to put out a very subtle smell 👍You can only smell it inside the tent at the moment.

The plants have all recovered quickly from transplant and overwatering, especially the Double Stuffed Sorbet which I was a bit worried about last week. l have now turned back on the humidifier to bring the humidity levels up to 60-70%. I have also put a heater into the room to try get the temps up as it is going into winter here in South Africa.
Today I mainlined all the ladies as well as giving them all their first nutrient feeding. 1 cut down, 2 more cuts to go. Hoping I can do the second mainline chop to get to 4 tops in the next 1-2 weeks. I will also be doing a bit of LST this week by tying down all the new tops when they grow out a little longer.

Since last weeks mainlining all the ladies have bounced back really quickly! I have also done the second mainline cut on the Ayahuasca Purple, Black D.O.G, Double Stuffed Sorbet and White OG today. The other two ladies will be mainlined later this week once they have grown a bit more. 2 cuts down, 1 to go. I didn't LST the ladies this week as I didn't think it was necessary, I will however do it when the second mainline cuts grow out a little further.
The plants are loving the higher temperatures after putting the heater in the room last week. They are a lot more thirsty now which is good news👍 The bad news in my humidity levels have been staying very low even with my humidifier on 24/7.
The Double Stuffed Sorbet and Blueberry Cookies are showing signs of nutrient burn so from now on they will get a weaker dose of nutrients than the rest.

Did the 3rd and final mainline chop on all the ladies except for the Blue Gelato 41 which I will do later this week. I have increased the amount I'm watering the ladies as they are drying up a lot faster now.
Humidity has still been very low in the tent. Hoping once they get bigger they will help keep it higher.
So far I'm very happy with the growth in the passed 3 weeks, excited to let these ladies grow out now and get large👍

Went away for the week so I got a friend to look after the ladies, they got a little bit of nutrient burn while I was away but overall I am extremely happy 👍 All the hard work is finally done, the plant structure has been set and now its time to let the ladies grow out for a few weeks before I put them into flower.

I have been needing to feed them a lot more recently, they are drying out every 2-3 days. Im a bit worried about how low my humidity is even with my humidifier on 24/7. Iv been misting the plants with a spray bottle 3-4 times a day and it seems to help a lot👍

The Double Stuffed Sorbet I'm busy growing is starting to show some signs of nutrient deficiency. I believe it is either a nitrogen deficiency or a magnesium deficiency or combination of both. The leaves have dark green centres and light green edges. Any suggestions?
@BradsBangerBudsI think you are correct it looks like magnesium to me It's a good idea to carry a cal mag
supplement within your growing kit. This way you can fix the issue without adding unneeded nutrients.

Fed all the ladies a bit of calmag this week, gave the Double Stuffed Sorbet a stronger dose to help with the magnesium deficiency. She seems to be lot happier and its only been a day 👍🏻
Managed to get my humidity higher this week which I'm happy about.
Going to put them into flower at the end of August so they still have a solid 4-5 weeks to fill the tent.

Great week this week. The Double Stuffed Sorbet has recovered from the calmag deficiency and is going strong, the humidity levels are still on the rise and all the ladies are putting on some nice growth 👍
I did a big defoliation and cut some clones for future runs. Planning on keeping the best phenotypes and building up a solid group of mothers.

I also did a heavy defoliation to ensure light reaches the entirety of the plants. Going to leave them until after the stretching phase before I do the last defoliation. The Black D.O.G. was by far the bushiest and hardest plant to defoliate and Im hoping that humidity doesn't become an issue during flower. In future I will only top her Instead of mainlining as she already has a thick, bushy structure.

This week I have just been tucking away leaves that are covering bud sites. I also added a clone of Chernobyl that I was gifted by a friend. She has grown extremely fast and has already caught up to the height of my other ladies, I topped and lollipopped her today👍 Iv heard good things about this strain so I'm excited to see what she can do🙏

Added the second layer of scrog netting today👍I tucked as much of the tall growth that I could under the scrog to try get a more even canopy. I also tucked away leaves covering bud sites. I put a small fan under the black dog to help get better airflow through her.
Im going to do the last heavy defoliation next week or the week after once they have finished stretching, going to be removing all the lower bud sites that are in the dark and taking a large majority of the bigger fan leaves off.

Did the last major defoliation today. I removed the bottom 1/4 of the plants, all the fan leaves covering bud sites and the small bud sites that weren't receiving any light. looking forward to seeing the plants focus their energy on bud development 👍Trichomes are starting to form on all of the ladies already.

This week I have only been tucking leaves covering bud sites. I spotted some signs of spider mites, I havent been able to find any yet but Im going to organise some predatory mites to help take them out. Next grow I'm going to take precautionary measures during veg to prevent anything from occurring again.

Terrible week this week. Power was out for 3 days in our house so the ladies have been in the dark. Really hoping this hasn't stressed them too much. They aren't showing any signs of stress though thank goodness.

Today I chopped the Double Stuffed Sorbet and the Chernobyl. I have started flushing the rest of the ladies and I will most likely harvest them next week! Will post pics of the buds once they have finished drying. Im hoping the spider mites havent taken too much from the potency. I guess I will find out soon 😂 The Black D.O.G is by far the frostiest of all the ladies.

Super fast growing strain, added her to my garden 4 weeks after the others and she managed to catch up👍She needed support late in flowering as her buds become too big for her to support. Super potent sativa, lovely daytime high!
She was severely affected by the spider mite invasion and her yields were significantly diminished because of this. The bud as still super frosty and strong but as just missing that density. I will be more proactive in the future with my pest control👍

She ended up growing into a monster once I flipped her into flower! Unfortunately I missed the early signs of a calmag deficiency and this really affected the end result.
Will be running this lady again as I think she has the potential to be a massive yielder. Have learnt how to spot and treat calmag deficiencies this grow, unfortunately I learnt the hard way😂The grow was also unfortunately infected by spider mites and her yields were affected by this. She ended up being a short stocky plant with ridiculously dense colas. Im so happy I took clones as I'm really impressed with the quality of the bud and the yield. She was the smallest plant in my tent but ended up being the second highest yielder which is ridiculous.
Next time I grow this strain I will only top her instead of mainling as she is already naturally super bushy. I was lucky enough to get my spider mites under control before flowering so I would suggest looking up the soft chemical/organic sprays if you don't go with pred mites.
(Got my clones from a large scale grower so some made the trip.😓)
I'm not sure if 4 weeks is enough time to shake off the taste of neem oil on buds, might have to get surgical with the spraying and avoiding flowers.
I can say that using Diatomaceous Earth as a soil topper is what kept them away after I Safer's End-All Pest/Fungicide sprayed them back in Veg.
The D-Earth is just micro silica that doesn't harm the plants and slices all bugs open until they dry up. It's also good for the plants/soil when it gets watered in because it acts as a silica supplement. 👍 (Obviously avoid if you use predator mites, works on them too, but if you go spray add D-Earth as a soil topper for 1-2 punch)

@CRiSPrGrow, I gave it a read, a little confused though😂what would you suggest? I currently have a heater and humidifier on 24/7 to keep the temp and humidity up. Temps have been between 22 and 28 celsius with the humidity at 38%. Once I put them into flower im going to turn the heater off during lights out and try to get the temp as low as I can (Probably only 16-20 degrees) to get their colours to show.

Power outages SUCK!!!!
Don't be too surprised if they pop some nanners....photoperiod changes this far into flower can be too brutal for some strains, and they'll try to fuck themselves to make seeds and perpetuate despite the "end of world" scenario they experienced with successive days of darkness or light. They wouldn't have time to make mature seeds at this point, so keep a sharp eye out and pluck any nanners you see popping up and you should be fine.
If you are dead set on staying in California(?) and dealing with the power cuts, consider getting yourself a little generator. You'd have just spent $15-20 on fuel to keep at least one of your grow lights lit, some fans blowing, and the TV on...
Mine cost under $300 and puts out a solid 1400w of power for 12 hours before I need to add another gallon of gas...

You could even just use a 12v car battery with a cheap inverter to run a 40w LED on a timer so as to keep their photoperiod on track. (like very cloudy days, but days nonetheless...)

the advice i got for when that happens is to try and maintain the light scheldule with any kind of light until you fix it... seems they'll be okay though right?
