I havnt had much time to add to the dairy as im away from home for my education (i have finals these weeks) so i'm not really avialable to take care of the poor girls, thankfully i will be done in a couple of weeks and will be here full time to take good care of them! They're just growing into their 6th node atm and im thinking of trying topping on 1 or 2 of them, a little experiment, as last year i just let them grow and didnt do any training/defoliation, etc. Thoughts? :) Also bugs are a bitch, but thats the thing about outdoors, hoping to get on top of them, a part from the smaller plant they dont seem to be doing to much harm so the neem+soap+eco insecticde must be doing something :D Do you guys think i should transplant them to a bigger pot now, im planning on planting straight into soil but probably wont be able to do that for another 3-4 weeks. Thanks!

@DinafemSeeds yes! I'm trying to be as natural as possible with this grow so yeah i would like to invite some natural predators, not sure how though. I know ladybugs are considered great for that and in some country's you can buy them online but i haven't found that where i am in Spain :/ Hopefully when i plant them in the ground with the rest of my vegetable garden a nice eco system will flourish and i will be visited by plenty natural predators! i will look into what plants atract them! Thanks Mark :)

Gl dude! What sort of base soil did you use? I've been growing 36 random seeds (first grow) outdoor for about 7-8 months, 24 turned out female (20/24 plants harvested, 4 large females to go), 1 male still alive, some in pots, some in soil and experienced many different pests/problems/extreme conditions (though not extreme cold). I might be able to give you a few hints, depending, since I made a lot of mistakes too. In vegetation, a mix of lots of rain and sun seems great, like tropical conditions (from what happened to my plants). Late in flowering, you definitely don't want a lack of sun, coldish and humid conditions.

@ghendrix, I dunno what most people do, sorry I can't say. Yeah, continuous topping will restrict height but make them bushy/dense.

@@Ssomeguy, thanks man! yeah most of this I have already done! Topped, fimmed and put 2 plants in soil and another opne in a 50L ish pot :D Just one question, do most people after topping / fimming continue to top/fim the new growth as well? i imagine it would make them very bushy and wide and tyhey wouldnt grow so tall if doing that?
Ssomeguy
Ssomeguy
@ghendrix, Oh sorry, I never noticed this reply. Lots of stuff to consider. Well, the difference between fimming and topping is not only plant stress but also, how do I say, subdivision. A topping gives you 2 stems, a fim can give you like, up to 6 stems (from what I've seen/experienced/read) and it's far less stressful for the plants, but it's a bit more tricky. Pinch method works best imo. But don't take my word for it. Yeah of course transplanting something in like a 50l pot to soil is gonna be somewhat problematic. But to be fair, with a good 50l pot, you could get 3m+ plants without transplanting to soil. If you're planning to put into soil at some point, shove them into the soil; as soon as you can. I realize some of this may not be relevant to you now, in retrospect or whatever, but I'm commenting for reference.

Whatup. Yeah, watch the ants, they farm (and protect) gnats, aphids and other pests. I've seen this shit before, check (firstly) your plants for scales and aphids. Aphids on the underside of leaves , scales normally on stems, though either would infest any part of the plant if it gets bad. Hope you don't have those issues, but ants are like that. Good luck dude!

@ghendrix, Ants aren't always bad, they're a good indication of good conditions/soil, etc. Some kinds of ants are actually beneficial, like they'll farm shit, but they'll also eat that shit (keeping it in check). It's very tricky, but if you do see scales, gnats, aphids and stuff with lots of ants around...fuckem. They will attract predators though, and I've been thinking about that, like setting up sort of decoy plants totally infested with various pests, simply to attract predators. Like, bait and switch.
