discopriest379 After a long break — I had to cut my last grow short because of a family situation and needed to focus on more important things in life — I’m back, and I’m hoping this run will be awesome and fun 😇😋

discopriest379 Week two of veg is done and the plants are looking good. The Lemon Pie is just a little bit behind, but the difference is super minimal😛. I’m being really careful with watering — giving them a drink every second or third day — and I’ve started adding Power Roots and Sugar Royal 👌.

discopriest379 This week there’s been a really big jump in growth and the plants are getting nice and bushy — it’s such a joy to watch. Still using the same nutes, and now I’m watering every other day since they’re clearly thirstier and need more water 😅. There’s an interesting difference between the strains too: the Break-Up Cake are wider and shorter, while the Lemon Pie are taller in structure. Super curious to see how they’ll look next week — maybe I’ll even spot the very first signs of flower. And yep, there’s already a bit of smell coming through… faint, but mmm so good 😋🌱

discopriest379 Another week down and I’m totally stoked — the plants are doing amazing! Leaves are a nice healthy green, stems are strong and sturdy. And I was right 😜, the flowering phase just kicked off like a day or two ago. So this week’s still veg, but next week we’re officially in flower — yeehaw! 🤠🌸 Watering’s the same, every other day. For the coming week I’ll keep running Power Roots and start adding Alga Bloom. Power Buds will come in gradually, depending on how things go.
***
The Lemon Pie are a bit smaller, but just as healthy and strong. I think it’s totally normal and nothing to stress about 😜🌱

discopriest379 First full week of flower is done, and I’m pretty happy with how things are going. The Lemon Pie are a bit smaller, around 40–45 cm, but doing perfectly fine. No signs of any Cal/Mag issues, so I’m not changing anything — just sticking with the same feeding plan🌱. If they stretch up to about 50-60 cm, that’ll be perfect. I’m not doing any LST, so I actually want them a bit taller.

discopriest379 Week two of flower is done, and everything’s going super smooth. The Lemon Pie are a bit shorter, around 45 cm, but developing perfectly — no issues at all 😄. Growth has pretty much stopped now, which is fine by me. The buds are starting to form nicely, and I’m planning to add Green Sensation next week to give them an extra boost.

As for the smell — it’s got that classic light fruity aroma with a sweet little touch, really gentle and pleasant, nothing too strong or overpowering. Just soft and delicious 🍋🌸🌿.

discopriest379 This week there’s been some nice progress too — the Lemon Pie are turning into these cute little Christmas-tree shapes 😄. The scent is still gentle and subtle, nothing too strong or pushy, just that soft fruity sweetness.

I also started adding Green Sensation this week, and the difference is noticeable. I cut back Alga Bloom by 1 ml/L for now and plan to slowly increase it again around two weeks before harvest.

discopriest379 The Lemon Pie ladies are also entering the final phase, and you can really see the progress. I removed some fan leaves to improve airflow and light for the lower buds. These girls stayed on the smaller side overall, but the main colas are looking great and definitely not disappointing. Every day the buds are getting denser, and the smell is now at its strongest — still that gentle, classy fruity aroma, but with a more noticeable citrus twist coming through. Sweet, fresh, and super pleasant to work around 🍋💚.
Grew strong and aromatic, with thick, resinous buds and a sweet citrus smell. Unfortunately, I had to harvest a bit early due to early signs of bud rot, but the quality of the remaining buds was excellent — dense, sticky, and flavorful.

discopriest379 Emergency update this week – had to pull the trigger earlier than planned.
Spotted early signs of bud rot on Thursday (that classic webby/misty look inside a main cola). No panic, just quick action. I removed all affected parts right away and chopped what was still clean. Everything went to dry with daily checks, and so far it looks like the saved buds are fine.
At the end of the day, I’d rather harvest a bit earlier and keep something nice, than wait too long and end up with nothing. With bud rot you need to act fast and efficiently – no mercy, no waiting to “see if it gets better”. It won’t. 😅
Still have two more Break-Up Cake plants finishing, those are coming down this Wednesday/Thursday.
*****
Adding a few pics of the trichomes from just before things went south. They were already showing that “almost there” stage — mostly cloudy with some clear and the first few ambers popping in. So under normal circumstances I would’ve let them go a bit longer, but with bud rot you just can’t risk it. Better to save what’s clean than lose everything.
*****
update 13/11- Adding some photos from the harvest and drying process, plus a shot of a bud affected by bud rot.
The cause was probably limited airflow — I should’ve done a bit more defoliation to let the air move through better. But the main problem was that the buds got super thick and dense, and about three-quarters of the main cola had to go.
Lesson learned for next round: better air circulation and maybe an earlier harvest before things get too chunky. 🌬️💚
