I have to say, what a session… 😅 After hours of measuring, stirring, waiting, measuring again (and waiting again 😅), the system is finally mixed and running stable. The Root Riots have been in the mini greenhouse under perfect conditions in the tent🌡️💧 until today. They were watered with pH-regulated CalMag solution (EC 0.300 µS) until the roots were visibly coming out the bottom. Then it was time for the big mixing: Starting water: EC 255 µS / pH 8.5 / 19–20 °C / 110 liters 20 L water + 36 g silica powder (at 30 °C for better dissolving) 60 ml Terra Aquatica CalMag → EC 401 µS, pH 8.5 TriPart series: • 92 ml Micro (→ EC 740 µS – next time a bit less 😉) yeah miscalculated.. =D • 34 ml Grow (→ EC 843 µS) • 30 ml Bloom (→ EC 905 µS, pH 8.3) pH-Down (34 ml total) → pH 6.00 after drift pH 5.9 Additives: • 12 g Green Eden EndoBoost dissolved in 1 L water • 24 ml HydroGuard (Botanicare) • 300 ml CannaZym After each addition, I let it bubble for 10 minutes and measured. After the final circulation, the EC was at 962 µS / pH 6.0 / 19.8 °C – absolutely stable 👌 In the end, I slightly fine-tuned the pH (-2 ml pH-) and now the reservoir is perfectly set at the starting line. All four ladies are in place. Purpz has a stable position despite her stretching, Guzzlerz is still delicate and has some "mutant vibes," but root growth is top – I felt she just had to go in. The other two look really vital, I believe something good is coming! =)))) 🔥 Unfortunately, I only have 3 Guzzlerz seeds on hand and only one has even sprouted, which is why I planted it despite its strange growth. Humboldt sent me a code without hesitation so I could reorder, I think that's really nice of them, it didn't have to be that way :) !! No one knows what's inside such a seed =D Everything is running, bubbling, and climatically perfect thanks to the chiller. RabbitHole Happy Sunday to you all :) 🌿 Weekly Update The week went very smoothly. We have the first root breakthroughs into the reservoir! 😍 As a result, the pH has drifted slightly down and stabilized at 5.6. I'm currently waiting for more biological activity and exchange in the solution due to the roots, so that the pH can then move slightly back towards 5.8 – that's the Sweet Spot for me. 😌 I'm just letting the system run because I see no point in constantly "chasing" the pH with such small fluctuations. Right now, we're running at around 1020 µS, which is already on the higher side for this phase – but all parameters are perfect: reservoir temp 19–20 °C and a stable, homogeneous nutrient solution. 🌊 🌡️ Climate & Settings For the climate, I've decided to tighten things up a bit, to keep the physiological activity of the plants consistently high. 🌱 Day: 26–27 °C temperature, 72–73 % humidity Night: 24–25 °C temperature, 75–76 % humidity (VPD: approx. 0.95–1.00 kPa) I assume that the current system conditions allow this without risk and that the plants can continue to perform optimally as a result. 💪 💧 Reservoir I've also noticed that the fill level of the reservoir was a bit harder to find in the last reports – so here it is again for reference: we're at about 110 liters. 😄 🌱 Plant Status The ladies look great – they're developing really well! Compared to soil, they're easily twice as fast in terms of development. 🚀 The only thing I'm really doing right now (besides taking multiple measurements a day) – important so I have something to do 😄 – is lightly moistening from above in the morning and evening. The net pots are chosen large and wide to create more root surface area in the reservoir. This is currently causing slight turgor stress, because the plants are currently pulling a bit too little moisture all the way up. The distance from the pot edge to the water line is about 13 cm. 💚 Special Mention And finally, the best part: our problem child Guzzlerz has really made it! 😍 She's doing really well now, standing stable and visibly growing – I'm super happy about it.

RabbitHole 🌿 A nice Sunday to you all again! 🙂 🌱 Weekly Update This week has been a bit eventful 😄 I'll try to recap it… System Status The system and reservoir continue to run absolutely stable. No more pH fluctuations, it's been consistently at 5.7 for 9 days now – which makes me think that the slight downdrift at the beginning to 5.6 was caused by the roots starting to work in the nutrient solution. The temperature from the chiller is still between 19 and 20 degrees. Roots are snow-white, just as they should be – I think Endoboost and Hydroguard are really delivering here. 💪 I'll try to take pictures for the next update. I didn't want to stress too much during this phase. 📈 EC / pH / Water Values Currently, there’s a minimal downdrift in EC – from around 1022 to 1000 µS over several days, which indicates stable nutrient uptake with consistent ion balance. 😊 Since I’m a bit retarded here and there 😅 – I thought at the beginning of the week, let’s see how far you can go – and simultaneously raised the light to 500 PPFD and the VPD to 1.0 kPa. This resulted in the ladies having absolutely no motivation for life and they let everything droop 😂 I'm running a 20/4 cycle, so the DLI is already at the upper limit 🌞 I then, unfortunately a bit overworked at that time, interpreted this as an EC problem and diluted the solution with 5 liters of CalMag and pH-adjusted water.. But that really can't be attributed to the EC, as we wouldn’t have had such a healthy strong build-up at the same EC during a phase when they were still more sensitive. I was really meticulous about acclimating them. I honestly have no idea what got into me with that interpretation 😅 🚰 Water Source Just a quick note: I use tap water with current waterworks analyses and I'm lucky that it's DWC-compatible water from a deep well that my community is directly connected to. 💧 When I finally managed to sit down for a few minutes and reflect on everything, I saw in my notes that I had grossly raised the VPD a few days ago.. and then it all became clear to me.. I was really annoyed that it didn't come to mind sooner and of course adjusted it immediately =D After a few hours with the reset to VPD 0.8 kPa and a slightly lower PPFD of 480, it was confirmed – turgor has clearly returned and the new shoots are vital again with nice color :D It was just stupid to adjust two variables at the same time when everything was running perfectly 😅 🌿 Plant Status & Training I let everything run for a bit so they could stabilize again. This morning, I decided to top because I want to start going wide above the 4th node for later training. I also plan a second topping and didn’t want to cut off half the plant – that would have caused too much stress. Overall, the ladies are absolutely satisfactory and seem to be recovering relatively well from the stress. 🌱 Unfortunately, the lower leaves have been a bit affected – but it’s not dramatic. The system responds wonderfully to small changes and keeps the EC in the balanced range – with the 5 liters, I'm absolutely in the calculated spot. 💧 At least I could take that away :D 🔄 Outlook The plan now is first recovery, and then to tackle the first exchange of nutrient solution towards adjustment. After that, the second topping follows =) 💚 Special Mention My problem child Guzzlerz has really taken a hit 😂 – she has been struggling from the start and has been oddly growing. RabbitHole 🌿 A lovely Sunday to you all as always! 🙂 🌱 Weekly Update The week was relatively calm and started off with 1–2 days of additional recovery time. I checked everything again and realized that I actually had 5 days of VPD stress from hell 😂 – there were some really unpleasant aftereffects :D Looking back: I'm really glad I caught it – I think it could have quickly gone downhill otherwise. A few more days in that state… 🌿 Plant Status & Training After the drama, I really wanted to take it easy and kept the canopy pretty open with leaf tucking for the first few days. After recovering, I continued with some light LST to spread the canopies out a bit more for later SCROG. The ladies are so bushy, it's really crazy :D The second topping has already been done on Blueberry Cupcake and Purpz – I'm still waiting on Notorious, and I don't even dare to look at Guzzlerz yet 😂 Additionally, I removed some of the old, VPD-damaged leaves here and there to avoid spreading any bio-gunk in the system – they were on the verge of going rogue =D Everything was going so well at the beginning… I could slap myself non-stop for that VPD push 😅 – it really cost some time, and the girls were quite grumpy :D VPD is still set to be more regenerative at the moment. ⚙️ System The system is running super smoothly – exactly as I envisioned and planned it =) Right after fully recovering from the VPD fireworks, the first 30 liters of nutrient solution landed in the res at the beginning of the week. With that, I actually smoothed out the high micro content from the calculation error during the first filling – meaning: just significantly less micro (3 ml per 30 liters = 😊). I briefly considered breaking everything down in detail, but that makes relatively little sense since you always have to start from your own values – meaning: it adds no real value. But everything worked out great =D 35-liter bucket, 30 liters of 18 °C cold water in (this gives you some time for the temp drift upwards while mixing). In my case, 18 °C, since I run at 19–20 °C res temperature :) Measure res-EC, set target EC, calculate top-up – and circulate and measure in between after each addition. I use a €20 mini pump and Apera measuring devices for this. My res-EC was at 956 µS/cm before the addition (also due to dilution from my misinterpretation) and then at 1108 µS/cm – which is a nice push and a good reset to get back into balance. I’ve kept the pH constant at 5.7 for weeks and just need to slightly correct it downwards a few hours after the top-up (2 ml for 110 liters is more than enough – I add that directly to the res). With a gently and steadily falling EC and water level, it shows me that everything is running as it should – and they have what they need 🙂 From then on, everything was in such balance that I could actually set my clock by the EC consumption – which really blew my mind :D Just minus 17 µS in 10 hours over several days – yes sir! 😎 To avoid hanging too long in veg, I added another 30-liter solution at the end of the week to slowly shift the entire res towards bloom. Due to the micro spike negation from last time, I was able to mix the first gentle shift solution this time. I took 30 liters again, brought everything to temp, measured, calculated, and mixed – then added it back to the res. Of course, I always remove enough beforehand so that 30 fresh liters can fit in 🙂 After that, I measure pH and EC a few times every few hours, just to be sure, and note everything down – from then on, I let it run =D Currently, we’re running an EC of 1220 µS/cm with a slight shift solution towards flower. 🔭 Outlook Right now, I'm waiting for the right time for more training and the last topping of Notorious :D I think I'll just let Guzzy run along :D Otherwise, the plan is to continue shifting the res with two more 30-liter top-ups, possibly removing leaves here and there, measuring, and noting :D The light will be increased to 650 PPFD as soon as the last topping is done and everyone has recovered. I won't touch VPD anymore beforehand – at least that's what I think for now :D :D Under my submersible pump in the res, there's also a microfilter fleece that I renew weekly; I’ve included a picture. This is not pollution or biofilm, but the typical mineral-organic suspension from silicate and EndoBoost, it also smells slightly peat-like and earthy, which for me is a good sign that the hoped-for biological activity and silicate availability in the system are in balance =) 💚 Special Mention Guzzlerz still looks a bit like a thistle, but she’s fighting – and I love her :D Her root system (of which I could take two bad pictures 😂) is really good, and she’s growing along – just not quite in biomass yet. But who knows, maybe something will come of it – it remains exciting, and I’ll keep her leaves healthy :D Thanks for your time – wishing you a good week and healthy plants 🌿 ✌️

RabbitHole 🌿 A nice Sunday once again =D 🌱 Weekly Update Things were a bit more eventful this week 😄 Just when you think everything is back on track, the next banger hits 😅 It all started off great, everything was going according to plan, the girls are back in full swing and pushing. I gradually removed the remaining grilled leaves to avoid any rot… so far so good. During training two days later, I almost had a stroke when I saw spots on the leaves again, wtf 😭 It looked suspiciously like a calcium/magnesium deficiency, and yes, it was. It hadn’t shown up in the measurements at first because I had raised the remaining EC based on a too-low baseline, except for a small micro-error 😅 Anyone reading this probably knows that I initially set the calcium/magnesium to only 400 µS/cm when I mixed the first total solution. Yeah… what can I say, that was dumb 😄😄😄 I had a lot going on with some projects and was kind of on autopilot. Normally, I always go for 650, as that value is calculated exactly based on my water analysis. Unfortunately, it was just one of those evenings where you start mixing just before going to bed because you see the ladies want to go into the reservoir. The roots were completely through =D You take a step further and only then realize: shit. =D But I had to admit that I thought it would be fine. It wasn’t 😅 After 4 weeks, the slight underdosing became noticeable. In the end, the 3rd 30-liter shift mix with corrected calcium/magnesium is now in, and everything has stabilized again 🙏 My nerves after two days… =D 🌿 Plant Status & Training By now, everything is looking pretty solid 🙂 The net is in, LST is done (I just wanted to open the crowns a bit). Just before the end of week 5, I did the first defoliation to get light and pressure into the shoots 😄 I’m still wondering if I could have increased the light and VPD earlier, but better safe than sorry, I guess 😅 I would have liked to create more light inside earlier and especially opened up a bit more before going under the net… but next time 😄 After the defo, they are definitely visibly pushing, it was good timing =D 🔧 System Still running really well =) I actually just wanted to do a top-up or a final shift solution this week, but it turned into two – because of the calcium/magnesium issue. The second top-up had to happen to avoid any old Ca/Mg imbalance in the base solution. With the two top-ups within a short time, each with 30 liters, the entire remaining amount of the old nutrient solution was completely displaced and replaced with fresh nutrient solution ✔️ Even if I jinx it now, everything is running as it should 😄 EC was stable over the days with a slight downtrend. I’m also slowly pushing with the light and VPD again on the side 🙂 800 PPFD canopy, 1.0 kPa. Co2 bags are also in. pH remains stable after adjustment, they are pulling in balance 🌿💧 I think we’ll switch soon =)) 💚 Special Mention My favorite Guzzlerz… It doesn’t stop, the poor thing 😄 When she was somewhat okay, I thought: come on, topping once is fine, it wasn’t bad – and she handled it well 😄 Due to the weird growth, I had to spread her out now and then to get light to the new topping shoots. Then one of the side shoots just broke off 😭😅 I just wanted to bury myself. But the next day, the two topping shoots really took off – so I had more luck than sense 😄 As it looks, we might see Guzzler buds, which I’m really looking forward to after all this =D =D ✨ Thanks for reading and have a great week 🌿😊

RabbitHole Helllooo 🌿 happy Sunday everyone =) 🌱 Weekly Update It’s been a pretty quiet week all in all 🙂 On Monday, I decided to switch to 12/12 🌙✨ I actually thought about letting the Veg run for another week, but I was advised in the comments (which I’m really grateful for 🙏) to respect the stretch, and I wanted to take that advice 😄😄 I personally have no experience with the genetics, so I appreciate any tips 🌱😊 By now, it’s just a carpet =D.. So unfortunately, I can’t show each plant individually anymore... I’ll do that again once they start flowering =D 🌿 Plant Status & Training Currently, I’m tucking the shoots that go over the net back underneath and directing them in the desired direction every day =) I do this twice a day – once in the morning and once in the evening. I always feel like nothing is happening because of this 😅 But you can somewhat see in the pictures that they are slowly pushing towards the edges 📈 Additionally, I’m removing larger leaves here and there that shade too many shoots. I always pull the sides a bit out of the middle by hand =) 🔧 System Everything is running as usual =) The regular top-ups keep the nutrient solution on track 💧📊 I let the EC drop by about 0.10 before I raise it again. I’m currently dosing the top-ups a bit higher since the data shows an increased nutrient consumption, which also fits the current stage of development 🌱🔥 What really satisfies my inner monk is that it’s always the same intervals with the same values – I love that kind of stuff 😄📏 From the last shift solution, I’m currently working with maintenance top-ups that balance out the daily consumption and keep the EC consistently in the target range 💧⚖️😊 The theory has definitely been confirmed: Ca/Mg is through, and it’s running and bubbling as it should 🫧🙂 Since I can be a bit lazy here and there 😅, only every 2nd solution is a larger amount (20–30 liters). In between, I always give a concentrated 5-liter solution to keep the EC constant 💧 But I think this is a good approach anyway to keep the biological activity in the system stable and not constantly disrupted =) Light in the canopy is still 800 PPFD, 1.0 kPa VPD, and with the two CO₂ bags, we’re averaging about 700-800 ppm 🌿 🔮 Outlook Training, training, training 💪🌱 Building up the canopy, filling the edges + selectively removing larger leaves 🍃✂️ I’m looking forward to the big defoliation once the stretch is over – it’s really a jungle under the net 😂🌴 💚 Special Mention I’m so glad to finally write here that she’s doing well 😄💚 She has forgiven me. Sure, she’s not as big as her sisters, but she’s stretching towards the net and looks overall healthy again 🌿💪 – just a bit smaller. But who cares 😄💚 I’ve gotten so many gray hairs from this tumultuous germination process, the constant lagging behind, the stunted growth at the beginning, my mistakes, and her reactions to them 😅 …that I’m currently considering starting 4 of them 😄🔥 I’m sure she can perform really well 🌱💥 ✨ Thank you for reading, wishing you a great week and healthy plants 🌿😊💚

RabbitHole 🌿 Happy Sunday & a relaxed 1st Advent from the right time zone =) 🌱 Weekly Update This week, I really tinkered a lot 😄 The focus was on canopy setup and selective defoliation =) I'm really picky about it and could do it all day… really bad 😅 What I can say already: Blueberry Cupcake has by far the craziest stretch. Purpz has also filled her space relatively well, performing really good and is almost on par with BBCC. Notorious is also growing, but is supposed to push a bit more defined later on. I really like her growth. Guzzlerz is also doing really well considering her rough start. Her sides are really taking off now. A few more shoots would have been nice, but that was probably on me too.. :D Aside from my foolishness, everything has been absolutely smooth. A great veg and really good stretch phase so far =D🔥 🌿 Plant Status & Training I'm currently keeping the canopy flat – for two or three days =) After that, it's time to spread them onto the meshes. Then they can finally go up =D The directions are roughly laid out, and you can already see the first signs =D I really can't wait… Budporn is just magical 😄🔥 Over the days, larger or twisted leaves have been coming off – mainly to get air and light to as many shoots as possible 😊 You can really take out ~30% biomass without any worries, as long as the vitality allows it, without a visible stop in growth 🌱 🌬️ Air & Ventilation I've added two more clip fans. The fear of mold is slowly creeping back =D There are now two running below and two above the canopy – each opposite and circulating. I must admit that I know about the boundary-layer disruption effect and find it quite valid 😊 But so far, the fear of mold in some corner has been greater 😂 I don't get the impression that directing circulating air at the plants is negative, as long as you're not blowing directly on them 💨 ⚙️ System Still running stable =) The top-ups keep the nutrient solution clean and on track. Yesterday, it became clear that we are in the middle of the stretch peak 😄 They are massively pulling cations and causing a significantly measurable pH drop. This is the signal for me to finish training in the next few days 🌿😊 800 PPFD 1.0 kPa VPD 700–800 ppm CO₂ on average 💚 Special Mention The upward trend continues 😊 You can hardly believe it, but she is really doing well – she even covers a bit more than half of her quadrant 💚 I'm really glad she made it and has still carried my crap 😂 Thanks for reading, it's really crazy how many are involved now – I'm really super happy 😊💛 Wishing you all a lovely, relaxed Advent season 🌲😊

RabbitHole 🌱 Once again, a lovely Sunday & second Advent for those it concerns 😊 🌿 Weekly Update This week was a bit eventful… unfortunately =D I’m trying to keep everything as transparent as possible 😊 At the beginning, I mixed and treated my solution manually as usual with high-quality Apera measuring instruments. That always went perfectly until it got a bit out of hand 😅 I measured easily 7 times a day and cleaned accordingly afterward… After some consideration, I finally decided on a Bluelab Guardian. At first, I didn’t want to invest so much in pure comfort, but it just became too much for me personally because I want to know what’s going on too often =D Last week, I already mentioned that I could determine the stretch peak based on the EC and pH curves. That was all done through the Bluelab. Since I really like making data-driven decisions, I diligently continued to train down and observed the values to catch the right moment to sort. The trend was initially that they just kept stretching like crazy 😄 On the 4th day with this measuring behavior, it almost happened… The uptake increased so much over a dark phase that I couldn’t explain it anymore (Peak measurement × 2.5). The fact was: The reservoir had really slipped into a critical range, and I wanted to change that. Why that was, I thought: I can clarify that later… after all, the ladies are hungry =D So, as always, I calculated 30 L top-up, mixed it, and set it to about 4.30 mS/cm to bring the low RESS values back up. Fortunately, I also have my moments; you wouldn’t believe it 😄 I randomly measured the drain while pumping because it wouldn’t let me rest – and lo and behold: 1.9 mS/cm. The probe had pushed itself nicely into a root ball over the weeks and had provided constant values, but in a root biozone and not in free draft water. That doesn’t sound dramatic at first, but if I hadn’t noticed that, the ladies would have been in a highly toxic area for about 24 hours… That would have definitely been a significant setback... And of course, this all happens in a phase where I want to stress them as little as possible 😄 I’ve now made small “covers” out of coarse filter foam that are currently doing their job and keeping the roots away. Measuring the drain is definitely SOP from now on 😄 Since the Guardian only came in during the run, I unfortunately couldn’t install it properly… 🌿 Plant Status & Training For safety, I’m going back to basics and will continue training until the rebound stretch visibly decreases 😊 That should happen in the next few days. I will definitely do the next run differently here 😄 I need my values for timing… Then just fill the meshes, slowly adjust the climate – and let them grow 😊 ⚙️ System Aside from the issue with the probe, the system is still running perfectly. The approach with calculated, targeted solutions hasn’t changed 😊 800 PPFD 1.0 kPa VPD 700–800 ppm CO₂ on average 💚 Special Mention There’s definitely something happening 😄 I believe at this point, you can really say she’s done. RabbitHole Happy Sunday and 3rd Advent to you all =) ! 🌱 Weekly Update The week went by without drama, thankfully =D I initiated all measures shortly after the stretch to shape the canopy nicely. The first gentle climate adjustments have been made, and we are moving towards flowering – aaaaw yeeeah =D As I mentioned before, I wanted to visually assess when the stretch is really over and we can finally sort onto the meshes after fixing the probe 😊. The probe is now running reliably again, but at that time I couldn't fully rely on it yet… So I trained for another day and paid attention to how far they were over the net during each check and whether it was real stretch or just rebound from training down =) On Tuesday, I had clear signs that we were finally done 😄 From here, I distributed every potential shoot onto a mesh and brought back those that were a bit too far or still bent into the net 😁. Once the canopy was "locked," I gave them a little rest. Since I couldn't see any signs of stagnation from stretch recovery and redistribution after 12 hours, I couldn't help myself and defoliated the entire canopy =D The thought behind it was simply to get as much light to the young budsides as early as possible 😄 Every leaf that cast a shadow or had no direct benefit was removed =) They thanked me right away at the next check 😁 Here I really struggled with myself for the first time. The question was whether I should go by the book and give them a few days of rest or continue with the program and push the under-canopy defo afterward. It would be a dream to have a good energy flow right from the start of the setup =D The ladies looked absolutely vital and practically invited me… so of course, I went ahead and defoliated right under the net =D Here, all the spaghetti shoots and everything that hadn’t reached the top of the net or had no real potential were removed. Everything that can go should go straight to the tops. And please no popcorn =D =D Afterward, I adjusted the air circulation to create a nice airflow under the net again =) You can even see which plant is which again =D ! Now it's off to flowering – I'm curious to see how it goes 😊 🌱 Plant Status & Training Everyone is doing well =) With Notorious, I feel like she’s stretching significantly bushier than the others – so many usable shoots, really a great scrog plant 😁. With Purpz, my impression is that she has really tried to reach upwards. You really have to stay on top of her if you want to scrog her cleanly. Blueberry Cupcake – absolute performer 😄, but I expected that given what I’ve read and heard about the genetics =) Last but not least, the problem child Guzzlerz: There will definitely be more to come here in the future. Unfortunately, I had massive issues with the germination rate. The only one that sprouted started with one cotyledon too few and just couldn’t keep up as well. Still, she fills a small corner of the net and looks great otherwise in comparison 😄 – just smaller. I will definitely test how a good seed performs again 😊 ⚙️ System Still the same approach with top-ups =) Currently, the ladies need significantly more water than nutrients because after the defo and canopy sorting, water consumption increases significantly due to auxin redistribution and increased transpiration =) 1.1 kPa VPD 700–800 ppm CO₂ on average EC of the solution has been increased to 1.9 EC 1000 PPFD Thank you once again for reading and for your interest, only love for you all =) Have a great week =)

I knew it was a tall order to stay completely even, but I didn't expect it to be so bumpy 😅 Since the two pushy ladies are on the same side, the light conditions should still remain acceptable across the entire canopy =) Looking back, I was just too ambitious with the strains, which is now biting me a bit in the butt =D I'm missing free meshes to really keep it flatter. Otherwise, I'm super satisfied so far and just feel like a little kid every time I stick my head in the tent =D💚 🌿 Plant Status & Training Overall, I've defoliated functionally under the canopy again at the end of the week to maintain good air circulation 🍃 Above the canopy, I'm still selectively removing only leaves that start casting shadows, grow inward, or overlap 😊 Blueberry Cupcake is full of trichomes from the stem to the base =) It already looks really intense 🔥 Unfortunately, I'm a bit under the weather right now – next time there will be a smell review =D Purpz is on par with BBCC, I would say 😊 The same level of trichome formation, slightly wider internodal distances, and you can see the sativa genetics coming through on the leaves =) 🌿 Even now, I find it really eye-catching 😄 Notorious THC is more in an indica direction with its leaves. Rough, plump leaves with pronounced veins 💪 I really had to compare it with other runs to make sure it was supposed to look like this =D Trichome formation has also started here, but currently still rather unspectacularly conservative 😊 Around the base and slightly on the leaves, just minimal on the stem 🌱 Guzzlerz is developing as it should, just still lagging behind 😅 It has nice little flower clusters, but the trichome formation has only just begun for her. RabbitHole Happy Sunday to you all 😊 🌿 Weekly Update Everything is still running smoothly =) My current focus is on measuring and maintaining the nutrient solution. Bulking has begun, and I get excited every time I can open the tent =D Those following this run have noticed that I consciously chose a relatively high starting EC. This was partly due to the needs of the genetics, which fall in the Middle to Heavy Feed range (though looking back, the cross wasn't the smartest choice 😅). On the other hand, it was because I have quite a bit of reservoir volume and planned for as few interventions as possible =) The goal was to ensure a minimum availability at all times. Through this, let's call it early acclimatization – always keeping an eye on the ladies' reactions – I was able to raise the EC completely stress-free to 2.3. After that, I stopped because, to be honest, I didn't see any added value in pushing it further, didn't want to burn them out, and especially the measurements showed that the selective water consumption had increased too much.. In other words: The solution itself concentrates too much over time, and the EC rises too drastically. So, I started to refill the pure water consumption from this peak point – hold on tight =DD with Cal/Mag. The measurements have shown a clear pattern 📊 Over 24 hours, there is a slight increase in EC due to primary water consumption, while the pH value drops. At the same time, I've always observed how the ladies react to the trends =) As soon as I see that this functioning pattern shifts slightly, in my case an increasing EC with a simultaneously rising pH, I refresh 30 liters of the solution. After the 30-liter refresh, the system returns to its previous stable pattern. For me, this is a clear indication that the mini-shift was the first sign of an emerging imbalance =) From here, it continues in the loop 🔄 I've really taken away that a partial refresh can be a good diagnostic tool. If trends behave only slightly differently than usual and you can't validate a clear cause, a moderate refresh can help check whether the system returns to its normal uptake pattern. If the behavior normalizes afterward, you can assume that the cause was in the solution and not with the plants or in the climate. 🌸 Plant Status & Training Finally, a more exciting part to report =D The whole tent smells like a dream; I could sit in front of it all day =)) 🌿 Blueberry Cupcake is frosting beautifully ❄️ Currently forming nice homogeneous sites and proving to be a really solid genetic 💪 She is very responsive and trains really well. My girlfriend says she smells extremely like blueberries – surprise, surprise =D I think she smells more like blueberry quark? =D I'm really curious. Purpz is also developing beautifully 😊 Nice little golf balls, all synchronously developing. The trichome formation is now on par with BBCC and appears less spectacular due to the lighter plant color ✨ In terms of smell, it's very fruity-sweet, clear in the light notes, but not really definable 🍬 My girlfriend says it smells like "grass" 😂.. Notorious THC is currently lagging a bit, which was to be expected given the information I have on it. The leaf appearance still confuses me a bit, but since it is visibly developing further and everything else is running smoothly, I'm currently attributing it to the genetics =) This aligns with the information above. In terms of structure, it is absolutely on par with its sisters. It smells quite kush-like; I immediately thought of that dull but awesome OG smoke🔥 =D I didn’t want to burden my girlfriend with this – dessert strains only is the conclusion here 😄 Guzzlerz is also coming along slowly. Her sites are quite delicate in comparison and unfortunately also significantly fewer. RabbitHole A lovely Sunday once again & Happy New Year 😊 🌿 Weekly Update Overall, everything is still running stable =) I’m still tracking and maintaining the nutrient solution. I did make a small interpretation error… Notorious has shown early signs of salt stress due to a consistently high EC. It’s not a severe damage and thankfully, it’s probably nothing that would jeopardize the run or her development =D Still, to be honest, it really pissed me off at the time 😅 I should have paid much closer attention here. Since she generally has a rather tough or rough leaf structure, I only noticed the mistake relatively late, and now she’s already showing slight local burns. Otherwise, there are no classic deficiency symptoms, no root problems, and no pH spikes. The other ladies are performing completely inconspicuously in the same reservoir 😊 I assume I’ve caught an EC-sensitive pheno here. Of course, right after my extensive frustration, I got to work relaxing the nutrient solution a bit =D.. I’ve now lowered it to 1,800 EC and will first observe a few cycles of the uptake pattern. After that, I’ll decide how to proceed 😊 🌸 Plant Status & Training Blueberry Cupcake is still frosting away diligently ❄️ I think she looks absolutely stunning 😄 Her smell has intensified significantly and is now clearly leaning towards berry, the yogurt part has disappeared =D I’m really curious to see what else is coming and how she develops further 🔥 Purpz is currently clearly the eye-catcher in the tent =) Top frost, very nice homogeneous sites, and I think I can already see slight anthocyanin deposits 😍 The smell is now leaning more towards diesel, with a slightly fruity finish 🍋 Hard to grasp, but extremely exciting 😄 Notorious THC is also developing well 😊 Aside from the local burns, she’s making a good overall impression. The kushy, rather dull smell has manifested, but you really have to get a bit closer to her =) She’s pulling well in terms of frost ❄️ In terms of structure, I generally have the impression that she’s a bit behind schedule. RabbitHole Hello =) happy Sunday to you all 🌞 🌿 Weekly Update Unfortunately, this week was anything but calm 😅 I was able to stop the burn on Notorious by regularly lowering the EC, but it would be boring if everything went well during this important phase, right? =D To regulate, I always took out fixed amounts, then adjusted the new addition to the previously calculated values, and through targeted, separate adjustments, I ensured a complete NPK profile while maintaining a lower ion level overall =) ⚖️ I started the bulking phase with a relatively high EC, assuming it would go well if I took a more relaxed approach and Notorious cooperated better. What I didn't really consider was that this significantly shifted the nutrient and ion requirements of the plants functionally 🤦‍♂️ =D All of this, combined with very soft water (really brutally low buffering capacity 😵‍💫) and a more relaxed solution – meaning more free water and thus more room for acid input – slowly led to an increasing acidification of the nutrient solution... I initially interpreted the creeping pH drift as a normal uptake pattern given the behavior of my higher-set solution and continued to lower the EC through regular top-ups, replacing the consumed water and pulling the pH back up. However, this was solely through top-ups, without active pH+ or real buffering. Unfortunately, I checked way too late that the pH pattern was shifting further down =(.. After about two days, it became clear that it was a buffering problem and that the pH would slip into a critical range if I continued unchanged. Due to the delay in obtaining pH+, the system spent several hours in the too acidic range (pH 5.3–5.0) over about three nights, which unfortunately led to a significant growth slowdown during this phase 😑🥀 The mistake was not in the pure EC value, but in the lack of buffering reserve. I – FML – unfortunately considered this much too late with the very soft water 🤦‍♂️💀 After adding pH+ and replenishing the buffer, the pattern is back to where it should be =) ✅ The root system started taking up well again after about 12 hours. I was really lucky that the plants were only stunted, and I hope to make up for a bit in the last 2–3 weeks 🤞🔥 This definitely won't happen to me again =D 🌸 Plant Status & Training Currently, not much to report from last week.. Blueberry Cupcake is still developing frost and it smells amazing =) I also have the impression that it has coped the best this week. Development-wise, it seems like there could still be something coming, as many white stigmas are still visible – especially on the sides of the buds 🌿 From the current state, I'm hoping for another 2–3 weeks =)=)🔥 Purpz has also suffered and hasn't invested much in stacking. The frost is also developing nicely here, but there have been slight discolorations on the leaves 🍂 Overall, it still looks intense, which is why the slowdown really frustrates me… beautiful pheno 💜 Notorious has almost taken a break =D The frost pattern is still nice, but it has almost stalled in its development.. I suspect that the previously high EC combined with the pH issue has taken a significant toll here 😣 The positive thing, however, is that it hasn't further degraded, but has only paused briefly and now seems to be continuing where it left off =) It's stacking a bit again =D Guzzlerz has been struggling from the start, and I feel like that is now working to her advantage =D She is consistently developing and even managed to gain some mass under the conditions of last week. Since I added pH+, the drift is back within range, and thankfully, the ladies are all developing well. Since there isn't much to report from the run itself right now, I just wanted to share a few things that I will do differently in the future with my setup =) Let's start with the 4×4 cross 🌿 Definitely a super exciting story. It's really interesting to observe how the different genetics react to the same environment and develop in relation to each other 😊 And let's be honest, who doesn't like a bit of variety =D However, I find it takes a lot of time and finesse to find an EC range where everyone feels comfortable at the same time. And that's despite me making sure that all of them are not too far apart in their development time and known EC needs. For single reservoirs, I find this rather suboptimal 😊 In the future, I will lean more towards a 2×2 cross and see how that behaves. The high EC held up really well until I switched to early bulking 🔥 From there, my soft water really threw a wrench in the works =D The chain went something like this: particularly Notorious struggled significantly with the EC. After that, I calculated and adjusted the solution – as always – in a relaxed manner. When I felt that she was doing significantly better again, I noticed that by diluting the solution 💧 and my soft water, I had slipped into a gradual pH drift.. At that time, it unfortunately took a while to get pH+. Yup, one of those things you could have known beforehand :D :D Ultimately, they ended up in quite low pH phases due to relaxing the solution, which in turn may have caused slowed uptake or even lockouts. In the next run, the EC will be managed more defensively, and especially my water will be buffered right from the start 💧😊 Otherwise, I'm really happy with how things have gone so far – everything looks better again =D 🌸 Plant Status & Training Blueberry Cupcake is still an absolute performer 🔥 I believe you could have pushed her even more =D Even under stressful conditions, she is running surprisingly stable. She has beautifully frosted buds, and the blueberry smell has settled a bit. Smells super delicious – I can't wait for the test 😊 Purpz unfortunately reacted more than I had hoped.. I think it was just too much at once in the end. She's still lagging a bit, and I generally get the impression she's rather relaxed at the moment 🌱 I still really like her buds – I'm curious to see what comes in the finish 😊 She now smells very fruity. Notorious has ended her break =D She's slowly getting back into it.. However, it was visibly too much here – first the high EC, then the pH issue, all on me 🤷‍♂️😅 I'm glad she's still going at all 💚 and hasn't ruined everything with nanners. The fact that she is slowly but visibly finding her way back fascinates me ✨ Aside from the damaged leaves that are wilting gradually, she is currently looking solid again. Guzzlerz is making a good impression like BBCC 😄 I had a night phase with a temp-related VPD peak, where she briefly drooped her leaves 🍃 Otherwise, there's only good news to report =) Beautiful frost formation still, stacking is in full swing. The girls are doing well again, yaay :D 💚 At the beginning of the week, I decided to do a big water change. I really struggled with this decision for a while, whether to take this step or not 😅 Recently, there were the pH problems, which they visibly suffered from for a while.. Creating more stress was not an option for me. However, the thought tormented me that due to the pH turbulence and the super irregular top-ups – to raise the value until pH Plus arrived – I could no longer accurately track how my reservoir was actually doing. In the end, I decided to reset the system to about 3/4 for the last weeks or days, depending on how much time they still need due to the past issues, and set it up cleanly again =) After that, my pH drifted again for 2 days, but this time I was able to manage it well with pH Plus. For the next round, potassium carbonate will definitely be included to avoid such shenanigans from the start =)📊 I underestimated my water a bit here.. :D Looking back, the decision to change was exactly right. Everything is running clean and stable again, the girls are happy and so am I =D 🌱 Currently, I'm only adding five liters of water daily – with calcium, magnesium, and pH to reservoir – to slowly bring down the solution and maintain the water level 📉 🌸 Plant Status & Training Blueberry Cupcake is slowly maturing =) I think she will be the first to be ready. She's beautifully frosted ❄️, has gained some volume, and her smell has settled 🍇 Really pleasantly clear blueberry scent, nothing sharp anymore. Her buds look simply delicious 🤤 I've also already started the first trichome checks on her 😊 Purpz is back too :D 💜 She has also gained some volume like BBCC and is probably slowly heading into the final stretch. I'm really curious if she will change color a bit in the next few days after the stress. Otherwise, really nice buds so far =) I can't even define the smell anymore 🤔 Sweet, but maybe not overwhelming :D Definitely not bad 😊 I'm also slowly checking trichomes here. Notorious doesn't look good at the moment, which was unfortunately to be expected and clearly falls on my shoulders.. 🙃 Still, and I really celebrate this, she is still stacking a bit and looks active again 🔥 Her kushy earthy note is still present, and apart from the burnt leaves, she makes a solid impression 😊 Let's see when she will be ready. I thought to myself: better safe than sorry, better no EC chaos now, and I'll save the finish for the next round =D Anyone following the diary knows that after the pH chaos, we reset a large part of the solution. That was practically the start for me to initiate a calm and stress-free finish under the conditions =) The phase basically consisted of adding 5 liters of water every day, enriched with Ca/Mg and adjusted to pH-res. This allowed me to slowly but surely bring the EC down a bit without having to intervene significantly again. Since the ladies take up less in late bloom, I tried to reduce the EC in a controlled manner to keep the solution stable and avoid unnecessary stress in the final phase. But at 1.250 EC, that was enough for me, as I still have two plants in the same reservoir that need a bit more time :D When the trichome checks mostly showed cloudy, I decided against waiting for more amber to avoid unnecessary risks in the final phase ✨ Normally, I prefer to dry the plants whole. However, due to the training, that wasn't feasible this time, so everything will be dried in the dry rack 😊 They will be dried full trimmed, at about 18 °C and 55 % rF, without direct airflow. 🌸Plant Status & Training Just a really nice genetic variety 💚 It was totally uncomplicated throughout the entire run, performed consistently, and really handled every little thing =D With 2.0 EC into bulking and such fun... Her buds are more than satisfactory. Especially after the mistakes, I was really unsure how it would all develop. Now I'm more than happy =D 😎 We have homogeneously stacked buds on multiple levels, beautifully frosty ❄️ and virtually no popcorn. Maximum beautiful cookies, like you know from the pharmacy 😊😊 In terms of smell, it has become a bit calmer, but that's absolutely forgivable after the run :D I would recommend it to anyone for their first DWC run. She’s not as sensitive as Notorious, but definitely a bit pickier. Unfortunately, due to improper handling of my water (buffer), I had quite strong pH fluctuations at times, which she didn’t like at all. During this time, she took a little break, which slowed down the finish a bit. Still, I was just positively surprised after trimming at what she managed to build up. Her popcorn ratio is a bit larger, and there are also some small cookie buds. Still, there’s a significant amount of nice dense, homogeneous heads 😊 In terms of smell, I find that there’s a bit of garlic/onion coming through =D At first, it was almost too much for me while trimming. But after the first hour, you learn to like it 😄🌿 Also, a great genetics with a factory setting high chance of color. Out of three seeds, only one sprouted, despite identical treatment =D So it really was number 3 out of 3. I don't know if something was off with the batch or if I overlooked something.. It also started with one less cotyledon and overall significantly slower growth than her three sisters. Throughout the run, she couldn't catch up, she was never really on par and remained rather compact overall. What really astonishes me about her, and also frustrates me a bit: she went through everything exactly like BBCC. High EC, later stress phases, the whole program.. =D I can well imagine that with a really good seed, you could achieve really strong results here.. The buds are overall significantly smaller, and there's a bit of popcorn too, which I just took along. However, I really like the few tops 😊🌿 Nice frost, a bit of color – just unfortunately not as dense as the other two. Still, it's a relaxed genetics that obviously can take a lot :D Smells very chemical, but also with a slight sweet note. The too high EC, the solution going off track, the unexpected buffer problems, that was my mistake. I underestimated it, and she paid the price directly 🙃 Unfortunately, even when everything was running smoothly again, she never returned to her peak form... And still: When you look at what she delivered under these conditions, it's honestly impressive 😊😊 The plant looked really worn out at times, and yet a surprisingly large amount of usable substance was produced in the end. A lot of small buds, some extremely compact, some so full that I really wanted to take every single one 😅 The trimming was accordingly crazy... Incredibly many mini-buds, but no airy popcorn leftovers, just really smokable material 😅 I sat for ages, but it was worth it. She produced more than I would have ever expected from her after the stress phase =) In terms of resin, she turned out decent. Quite frosty, especially considering the circumstances 😊 In terms of smell, currently spicy, but hard to define clearly. I'm very curious to see what the curing will bring out and how the smoke will really perform in the end. Realistically, this run didn't do justice to the genetic variety. It can definitely do more. But that's exactly why I'm still satisfied under the given circumstances. Getting so many well-developed buds from a plant that was basically already written off is a small victory for me.
