SundancerS Actually not a plant for SCROG, but we're going to try it anyway. Very dense foliage, it hurts to have to cut so much. The result looks promising now, though. We'll see. For flowering nutrients, we opted for the Monster Bud Mix from Zamnesia.
SundancerS Finally, we're flowering! I'm curious to see how much more she'll stretch. Soon, a bigger defoliation is coming up because she has a dense foliage.

SundancerS Pretty much defoliated a lot, but now she has a nice haircut. We hope it wasn't too much and she doesn't hold it against us. For that, she also got some treats in the form of wellness products (like Bio Heaven and Algamix) from Biobizz afterwards.

SundancerS We're currently in the quieter growing phase. The fan has been modified for more movement of the buds. Since we used Monster Bud fertilizer at the beginning of the flowering phase, she's currently only getting water.

SundancerS The lady is slowly starting to put on mass and has a slight diesel smell. She probably won't stretch much more and will thus remain quite manageable. We'll see what surprises the young lady has in store for us.

SundancerS The buds are developing very well and are gaining mass strongly.
Hey there... we're also getting a bit purple.
She probably won't get any bigger, since we've been growing wider and not taller in the last two weeks.

SundancerS The buds look more compact, larger, and "finished." Additionally, the lady is now showing a beautiful color development: some leaves are turning shades of yellow, orange, and purple, which visually resembles an autumn forest and is typical for a later stage.
Compared to last week, she looks bushier, fuller, and overall more homogeneous. The shoots are now forming a small "flower silhouette," almost like a miniature city made of towers.
Now she looks proud and shows what she can do. 🌿✨

SundancerS It's just beautiful to watch the sex bud gain mass. The colors surprise every time you open the tent. The smell is slowly becoming noticeably stronger.
We've discovered the first brown trichomes. That means we're in the home stretch.

SundancerS The last week has begun.
She is maturing beautifully and has gained even more color and volume.
Now that about 20% of the trichomes are brown, we will harvest her in the next few days.
Until the harvest, there will be a few pictures of the beautiful buds :)
Sex-Bud-Porn 😇😇😇
We were very curious about the plant, as the name is already extraordinary. :-P
Our experience:
At the beginning, it didn't make it easy for us. It grew very bushy with extremely short internodal distances. We had to fully apply our previous experience to shape it. From the very beginning, we set a fixed "growth plan" and then consistently followed through, even though it was sometimes very painful to remove so many side shoots. Thanks to the scrog net, we were able to bring the buds into their final growth form.
The subsequent stretch was very manageable, so we didn't have to make any further training adjustments. Despite the strong stress from LST and the scrog net, it didn't hermaphrodite and recovered very well from it. :-)
Towards the end of the flowering phase, it surprised us with its beautiful autumn colors. From bright red to deep purple, everything was there.
The entire grow of the SexBud challenged us but was even more fun. :-)
We are very curious about the result.
Thank you to everyone who accompanied our grow with good tips and tricks.
We look forward to the next grow with you and the whole community here!
Update after curing:
It took 10 days at 13.5°C and 37% humidity to relieve us with a "crack". The curing itself was very easy. With the silicone brush, the large sugar leaves could already be separated.
The fine work with the scissors was hardly necessary. It has firm, mostly sparkling buds.
The first taste test was "spicy". Now it's time to put it in jars for the next few days to continue aging.

SundancerS After the harvest, the SexBud only needed slight preparation for the drying phase.
@Sundancers
, are you growing in a 20L pot with organic soil, or with coco? I guess I have heard that coco needs to be moist all the time, and the the rule with coco is to ALWAYS keep the substrate moist and NEVER dry.
PS If you used worm humus then it's not coco, then 3L/plant may be too much because it's a lot of water at the same time. Why not divide it into two parts, and give your plants 1.5L a day? I am curious how you think dryip up of the soil can produce benefits for the plant. (PS I myself like drying up the surface, but I was wondering what your point of view is).
@HumanCompanion, we don't think that letting the soil dry out has any benefits? The soil isn't completely dried out after 2 days. That wouldn't be good at all. To determine the amount of watering, we use a magical technique. We lift the pots, and by the weight, we can tell if and how much to water. :)
@Sundancers, if you want to get rid of most of those minerals and problems, just get 70 liters of organic soil and your main problem will be defoliating 30 leaves a day. You are a kvadratish, practish, gut german dude, so why not just go organic and simple?
@Sundancers, they are wild strawberries found in a local field outside. Their fruit are tiny, but smell almost like chocolate. They can tolerate hellish droughts without water for a month. Their main task is survival, not producing fruit, unfortunatelly. I even wonder how many hours of light a day they might need to start making berries. They've been in this vegetative stage for some months, and it seems like the problem is 12h days, but even now at 18/6 they are still in veg, those wild strawberries.😍
@Sundancers, what do you think could happen if you switched to 6.1pH? Why 5.5? I've always heard that 6.1 is good for soil, but you have a semi-hydro setup and maybe that's why your pH is different from mine. I saw their info about their soil, but IMO it looks like simple peat, because it is so brown. And peat, yeah, peat is usually more acid, isn't it?
PS dude, your water is not hard because hard is about PPM, right?? I guess you wanted to say alcaline in pH, right?
I can see you have a mechanical humidity meter. is it reliable? Any problems with this device? PS I am just trying to go without batteries cause they always die when you don't expect, and the device dies with them, and becomes useless for a couple weeks until I find that damn battery.
@HumanCompanion
We have two humidity meter, one mechanic and one digital. Both show nearly the same data. It looks more retro with an mechanical humidity meter and i don't need glasses to see the humidity value 😆
@Sundancers, I remember that I had a mechanical timer in the past, and it was quite good. I guess they are safer thanks to no batteries! i wish my TDS meter didn't use any battery... It died exactly after I watered my gentle seedling with hydroponic solution, and I had suspisions that the water was really high PPM. Oh, and those paper stripes are terrible for pH tests. I guess you and your glasses understand me. Thanks and have a good day!
