DogDoctorOfficial Germination Report
1. Introduction & Thank Yous
First of all: a huge thank you to:
Zamnesia Seeds — for trusting us with the LSD (feminized) genetics.
Plagron — for providing the LightMix Bio soil and support.
Future of Grow — for the Air Grow Pro III 2.95 Hyper Red LED setup and the Nova 2C Pro control system.
Cannakan — for the germination bundle that allowed us to start strong and clean.
And of course: GrowDiaries community, our sponsors, our followers (both long-time and new), even the haters — everyone who watches, learns, and shares energy with us.
Without all of you, this project wouldn’t be as magical, ambitious, or grounded.
2. Project Overview & Germination Method
Goal: To document the full lifecycle of LSD (Zamnesia Seeds) — from seed to harvest — and share detailed observations, successes, and learnings in a transparent, educational way.
Germination method used:
Water soak – We placed the seeds in clean, filtered water. After about 24-36 hours, the taproots (“tails”) emerged.
Direct sow into soil – Once taproots appeared, we gently transferred the seeds into Plagron LightMix Bio, without using a separate starter medium.
Monitoring – We maintained optimal conditions for moisture, temperature, and gentle light (using the Future of Grow LED at low power to avoid shocking the seedlings).
Now, we wait and observe. We will document germination rate, any variability, and the time it takes for cotyledons and true leaves to appear.
3. Genetics: LSD (Zamnesia Seeds)
Strain background:
This is LSD from Zamnesia Seeds, feminized.
Genetics: Mazar-I-Sharif × Skunk.
It’s 70% indica / 30% sativa.
THC: up to 25% under optimal conditions.
CBD: very low (~0-1%) per breeder.
Flowering: ~8-9 weeks photoperiod.
Size: indoor ~90 cm; outdoor ~100 cm.
Yield: indoor up to 700 g/m² (per Zamnesia)
Terpene profile & effects:
Dominant terpenes: caryophyllene and myrcene.
Aroma: earthy, skunky, slightly sour / tabacco-like.
Effect: long-lasting, relaxing body stone + euphoric, “trippy” cerebral effect — a bit psychedelic but not aggressively “couch-lock.” What to Expect (Phenotype & Growth):
Because of the indica dominance, expect relatively compact, bushy plants.
Good resin production — Mazar-I-Sharif contributes strong resin traits.
Given the genetics, plants may be quite stress tolerant (Zamnesia notes stress resistance).
Internodal spacing may be moderate, but because of high resin potential, it's ideal to manage light and train carefully for dense bud structure.
4. Soil: Plagron LightMix Bio
Why LightMix Bio?
Using Plagron LightMix Bio, we're choosing a light, biologically active substrate that’s ideal for young plants and seedlings.
Key soil characteristics:
According to Plagron’s technical data sheet, LightMix has a pH around 6.3 (1:1.5).
Electrical Conductivity (EC) is about 1.0 mS/cm (1:1.5) when measured by their method.
Nutrient-wise, LightMix contains modest levels of N, P₂O₅, K₂O — enough to support seedlings but not so rich that there’s risk of nutrient burn early.
Plagron recommends starting to feed only after the first week, so the soil gives a gentle, buffered base for early growth.
Implications for germination:
By sowing directly into this soil, we give seedlings a stable, gentle environment.
The buffering capacity helps prevent pH swings.
Biological activity (microorganisms) in LightMix helps nutrient uptake once roots grow, but since LightMix is relatively “light,” we must monitor and plan feeding as plants move beyond seedling stage.
5. Lighting Setup: Future of Grow
We're using Future of Grow gear, which is absolutely top-tier, so here’s what to expect and how it plays into our germination + veg phases.
Light unit:
Air Grow Pro III 2.95 Hyper Red LED from Future of Grow.
Power: ~600 W (±5%).
Photon Flux / PPF: ~ 1,794 µmol/s.
Efficiency: 2.95 µmol/J.
Dimmer: has a 25% - 50% - 75% - 100% dimmer and supports 0-10 V dimming (compatible with controllers like Trolmaster)
LED spectrum: “3-in-1” design: different spectral blends for different growth stages (germination, vegetative, flowering) + enriched red spectrum (“Hyper Red”) for boosting yield & resin.
Advantages of Hyper Red: More red-light proportion increases resin production, helps open stomata, can reduce stretch, and may suppress botrytis risk.
Energy savings: Compared to HPS, this LED uses 40-60% less energy per the manufacturer.
IP54 rating, good build, driver remote cable (4m) so we can position driver outside the tent if needed.
I control everything with Nova 2C Pro from Future of Grow. This gives me precise control over dimming (0–10 V), which is ideal for adjusting light intensity across phases (germination, veg, flower).
With the Nova 2C Pro, you can program light schedules, dimming profiles, and likely integrate with other environment controls (if you have them) — giving you the flexibility to ramp up the light gently for seedlings, then scale up in veg, and later maximize for flowering.
6. What We Expect (Short-Term & Long-Term)
Short-Term (Germ + Seedling):
Germination rate: because you soaked the seeds and then sowed, I’d expect a high germination percentage, given healthy seeds and good water conditions.
Timing: tails already out after ~24–36h is excellent. In soil, cotyledons should emerge in ~2–4 days, and true leaves by ~5–7 days (depending on conditions).
Root development: roots will begin colonizing the LightMix, tapping into its modest nutrients. You should see good vigor if moisture, pH, and light are stable.
Risk factors: overwatering, damping off, or too intense light stress at this stage. Use gentle misting, maintain humidity, and avoid driving the light too hard too early.
Long-Term (Veg → Flower → Harvest):
Vegetative phase: plants should remain relatively compact (given LSD’s indica-dominance), but with your LED, you can promote healthy branching and resinous pre-flowers.
Flower phase: Expect robust resin production, thanks to Hyper-Red spectrum. The LSD genetics + red-enriched light may push for dense, potent buds.
Yield: Realistically, yield will depend on how well you manage training, light, nutrients, and space — but given the reported potential (~700 g/m²), with your gear and a solid grow, you have a chance to get very respectable yields.
Quality: Expect a classic skunky, earthy aroma, with the “trippy” effect LSD is known for. The terpene profile (caryophyllene, myrcene) should shine, especially if your environmental control is good.
7. Risks & Challenges, and How We’ll Mitigate Them
Overwatering/damping-off
Mitigation: Use light misting, allow soil surface to slightly dry, maintain humidity at moderate levels, and avoid waterlogging.
pH drift
Mitigation: Although LightMix is buffered, check pH of feed water once you start feeding; adjust if needed.
Light stress
Mitigation: Start with low dimmer settings, keep light at a safe distance in germ / seedling phase, then gradually ramp up.
Stretch / internode control
Mitigation: Use training (LST, topping, etc.) if needed, and take advantage of the red-enriched spectrum which naturally reduces excessive vertical stretch.
Pest / disease
Mitigation: Keep clean environment, good air circulation, monitor for early signs, and use environmentally friendly control strategies.
8. Metrics We'll Track & Report on GrowDiaries
To make this truly educational and transparent, here are the metrics I suggest we document and report regularly:
Germination rate (# seeds germinated / total)
Root health (if any observations / photography)
Soil moisture & pH (weekly)
Light settings (dimmer %, height above canopy)
Environmental conditions (temperature, humidity)
Any nutrient data (once feeding begins)
Training methods used (if any)
Milestones (first node, stretch, preflowers)
Photographs (high resolution) to document morphology
9. Conclusion / Reflection
This germination run is more than just a “test”: it’s the foundation of a full seed-to-harvest journey with a legendary strain — LSD — under truly professional-level gear and high-quality organic soil.
With the support of Zamnesia Seeds, Plagron, Future of Grow, and Cannakan, we have a dream team backing us. That means not just for yield or potency — but for education: growing in a way that inspires and informs.
We are deeply grateful to everyone: sponsors, community, followers, and even critics — because their energy fuels our commitment to be open, rigorous, and passionate.

📸 P.S. – The Eye Behind the Lens
All photos in this diary (for now — except for the ones showing the camera, which I took with an iPhone) are taken with a Sony A6000 (for now) paired with a Sony full-frame macro lens and a few more.
Photography is part of the story — it’s how we share the fine textures, the glow, and the quiet details that words can’t always capture.
I’ve also started experimenting with photo stacking — a technique where multiple images, each taken at a slightly different focus point, are layered together to create one perfectly sharp image from front to back.
It’s not digital enhancement or AI; it’s pure photography — a way to reveal the plant’s beauty in microscopic depth, from trichome to petal.
You’ll even see a few shots of "ghost me" capturing the shots — camera, lens, setup — because every grow deserves not just to be cultivated, but documented like art.
