Also, I don't quite understand what the problem is with this dripper. Sometimes it gets clogged and I have to shake it and open the holes from which the water with nutrients comes out, so it's not an easy thing. Anyway, I hope the roots reach the underlying nutrient solution as soon as possible so she can grow her best like her sister! Wastent91 Here we go, guys! A week and a few days have passed, and finally, this girl has put down roots in the water and is growing very quickly. Hopefully, in about a week, she'll be roughly the same size as her sister and at least ready to be sent into flowering. The water will be changed in about a week; for now, I've just added a bit of cleance to keep the roots clean. Everything else seems fine, except for a few pH fluctuations, but I think that's normal in Hydro.. Wastent91 Here we are guys! Merry Christmas to all of you! As you can see, the smashberry is growing really well now too! Unfortunately, next week I’ll have to send it into flowering even though its sister will overshadow it in total volume, but there’s nothing I can do about it, because even topping and defoliating the other one, in Hydro it has such explosive and fast growth that I can’t keep up with the pruning to keep it as low as possible! 😅😂 So for now, I’ve raised it closer to the light to get a bit of increased total photosynthesis, and let’s hope it gives results. I’ll probably change the water tomorrow or at most the day after, and then in about a week I’ll change it again because I’ll change the light cycle. So the physiological nutrient needs will also change in its diet.. Anyway, I’m really happy that this time, with the right precautions, I’m not having any type of deficiency so far. Last time, I had the main leaves that were light green/yellow and the overall development was excellent but slowed down, and you could see it right after I changed the light cycle. It was lacking calcium and magnesium especially, and then last time I made the mistake of not having Athena's clearance, which prevented the root zone from going into rot this time, even though a little always happens because being DWC I should change the water almost every week and a half, not even 15 days, max 10. It's just that I don’t have the time or desire to do that, because first of all it would be a huge waste of nutrient solution, even though I reuse it for other plants in my garden. Anyway, I’m sorry, so I prefer to add a bit more hypochlorous acid, so it keeps the roots clean but doesn’t disturb the pH and overall development.. Let’s hope it continues according to my plans, otherwise I assure you that solving a visible deficiency in Hydro is much more difficult than in soil.. I don’t know the exact reason, but if the root system isn’t in excellent health, it’s a mess to maintain the plant and overall development/flowering without having problems of deficiencies/excesses, which often look similar in symptoms.. The girl was starting to grow well like her sister, but unfortunately, having more than 2 weeks less of growth, I had to bring her into flowering now, otherwise the sister would have become too big and with all the topping, the roots keep growing and I'm afraid they will get too big and tangled for the container I'm using, so I preferred to change the light hours on December 31, the last day of the year, and even though she's small now, she still has 2 weeks of pre-flowering during which she will grow in height and width, so I'm confident she will come out with excellent weed! Wastent91 Here we are, first week, almost 10 days since the change in light hours, and the girl is doing very well. As you can see, I've done a bit of defoliation in the last few days. Even though the girl is about 15 cm shorter than her sister, she's working hard to develop as much as possible and become a good product too! The only thing that worries me is the root development of both her and her sister; it seems to be leaning too much towards rot problems. I will need to add a bit of sodium hypochlorite, the Athena Cleanse, to keep this issue under control and improve it a bit. Anyway, in terms of overall health, the girl shows no deficiencies and is very stable and vigorous in growth, so I'm sharing in excellent flowering, at least I hope so. I also had root problems with the beginning of rot, so I changed the solution and added quite a bit of hypochlorous acid, which is cleaning the roots nicely. In about a week and a half, I'll do another water change, hoping that the buds start to grow more in size, etc. Because right now they are really too small. The resin is there, but there are few flowers and they aren't increasing in volume. Maybe it's due to the roots not being at their best? I don't know; we'll see in the coming days. Wastent91 Hey guys! How's it going? I hope everything's good for you too! So this week has been one of "settling in" in the sense that she also had root rot issues. By increasing the dose of cleance, I managed to improve the situation, and now I'm noticing new roots that are nice and white and pristine. Let's hope it continues like this! Today I'm changing the solution and we'll see if it keeps improving this way! Another positive note, as you can see from the photos, is the resin that's forming around the buds and even on all the leaves around the top. So this is a sign of an amazing genetic that's starting to show its true potential! I also did quite a bit of defoliation, even though she's still very dense with leaves and lower stems, because having had 2 weeks less growth than the sister, I preferred not to stress her too much and to ensure she produces as much as possible, despite her smaller size. But what does this high leaf volume mean? An increase in humidity in the box, which I'm trying to keep under control, but unfortunately the dehumidifier blows out hot air and this raises the temperature too much. They should be at optimal levels for perfect development, following the VPD... Another problem I've noticed is the leaves with slightly burnt tips, which are the beginning of nitrogen over-fertilization symptoms and other things. But unfortunately, when the water in the DWC drops, the EC rises and doesn't respect the right values. Now it's reached 3.6! Too high to be managed correctly, so today I'm changing the solution and reducing the doses. Let's see if the girl improves, but judging by the resin produced by both plants, even if the buds will be smaller, I know they'll have a high amount of THC and resin if this continues... Wastent91 Here we are guys, I'm also late, it's been about 2 weeks, the girl seems to be behaving well, the buds are producing resin, they are compact, but small compared to what I expected, like with the sister in the cultivation, I had nutrient absorption problems due to my mistakes, like the EC imbalance being too high and the water temperature being too low, then I had pH imbalances and I had a lot of difficulty changing the solution, because it's very difficult to do, you need a special pump that lets water out of this DWC system because it doesn't have a drain at the bottom, then anyway there's always some residue of dead/decaying matter at the bottom that I don't know how to remove, in any case even though I had these problems a nice plant came out with really particular and unique smells/terpenes! I've never smelled such particular odors, I'm sure that if I hadn't made certain mistakes, now the buds would be double the current size! But we'll see anyway, still 10 days of minimum development and I'll give them the final part and we'll see if the buds will mature as they should!
