Green_Claws The izi grow contest..
Really looking forward to this.
A Massive thanks to izi firstly for selecting me I will try my best to get the potential out of these
Grandpa Zombie beans..
Had them in a glass of water for about 40hrs and the root was showing on all 4 seeds so they went into a 1ltr pot with some seedling mixed soil, I'm sure they will be showing an appearance very soon.
Grandpa Zombie genetics fem

Description
Grandpa Zombie genetics is a premium Indica-dominant hybrid created by crossing our signature Grandpa’s Diesel with the award-winning Zombie Kush from Ripper Seeds. This pairing produces dense, resin-rich buds with a strong structure and deeply relaxing properties. Its lineage combines classic Indica potency with modern stability and striking visual appeal.
Taste and effect
Grandpa Zombie delivers a smooth, sweet flavor enriched by earthy and herbal undertones. The aroma mirrors its taste; sweet, rich, and grounding. Effects begin gently, spreading through the body with long-lasting calm and full-body relaxation. Its tranquil vibe might even make you feel ready for a role in your favorite zombie show.
Growing
Grandpa’s Diesel thrives in cooler environments, as high temperatures can invite pests and pathogens into its dense foliage. To keep this Indica-dominant strain healthy, ensure a consistent flow of fresh air and lower the temperature during the end of its flowering stage to maintain its vibrant purple hues.

Green_Claws Welcome to week 1 veg.. So alot has happened in a week it's not just 1 thing to go wrong it's everything lol. Anyway need to march on. I have managed to dampen off 3 seeds my own fault and stupid mistakes so my logic is if this seed survived my assiination attempt then it is the 1.
Left in the water for too long especially floating on the top.
Leavea have a slight twist, not concerned at min she will out grow that.
Anyway Let's see what I can get out of her, theres going to be some love and attention going into this survivor..
Gave seaweed only atm

Everything is moving along nicely, growth is fast the new leaves arnt twisted or mutated like the previous sets, that was down to a little shock from the loaded soil.
Gave alfalfa+Aloevera tea.
***Midweek update***
Added 2 pics decided to top after 4th node.
Might keep all 8 or get rid of bottom 2. Either way there getting doubled again to 16 tops
The force is strong with this one..

The growth rate is accelerating. To open up the canopy for the lower branches, I've topped the plant and used wire to tuck the fan leaves. While the setup looks a bit "mad scientist" right now, it’s very practical. I currently have 8 established branches and intend to top them again to bring the total to 16.
Regarding nutrients, I applied an alfalfa tea with humic and fulvic acids. There is some slight tip burn on the new growth, though it's nothing to worry about yet. I also added the alfalfa pellet remains as a top-dress mulch.
Thanks for following along!

Only been giving water with Seaweed extract..
Wow she's taking off now all shoots are at a level apart from the lowest node these might be taken off yet if they can't speed up or I could minipulate the rest of the plant to fit but not to sure best plan of action yet..
**Update week 5 day 2**
Just finished some LST and added a photo of the canopy. Instead of defoliating, I used garden wire to ease the branches out, leaving Node 1 to fill out the center. The goal was a perfectly even canopy height, and I think I'm getting there or it will be..
Thanks for taking a look

Green_Claws Week 7 veg...
Can’t believe it’s already week 7. This girl has had a rough start—stuck on the floor under a cheap light while waiting for the tent. I’ll admit, between the 'makeshift' setup and a bit of neglect on my end, she’s looking a little overfed and overwatered. She's a short bushy thing but I had to keep her like that, no choice and no space.
I did some LST two weeks ago, but she’s been untouched since the transplant into 11L plastic pots (I personally prefer plastic for soil). Now that they’re finally under the Telos 10 Pro, the difference is night and day compared to the old blurple! They’re still a bit shocked from the move, but I’m giving them a week to settle in. Watch this space!
Thanks for checking in.

After a week of acclimation to the tent and lights, she has really taken off! 🚀
I’ve wire-trained the remaining 10 branches after pruning away 6 "sucker" branches that didn’t meet my quality standards. ✂️ I’m continuing to spread the canopy daily and plan to set up the scrog net shortly before flipping to a 12/12 light cycle. ⏳
On the feeding front, I’m sticking to water, seaweed, and silica. 🌊 The soil is already rich in NPK from alfalfa pellets, fish/blood/bone meal, and volcanic rock dust for mineralization.

Green_Claws 🗓️ Week 9 (Veg): Pre-Flip Preparation & The Big Feed ⚡
Status: We are standing on the edge of the flip!
💡 Week 9 is all about structural reinforcement and charging the soil battery for that inevitable 🚀 stretch.
🏗️ Structural Training
The Technique: wire training, Super Crop the top 2 (middle branches).
The Goal: I’m pulling the secondary branches out wide and flat 📏. Since the stretch is coming, I want to create as many "top" sites as possible now. The wire gives me the tension I need to keep the canopy level and open up the center for maximum ☀️ light penetration once the flowers start forming And super crop to bend and slower down the middle 2.
🥗 The Organic "Stretch" Buffet
Alfalfa Meal: Added this as a slow-release nitrogen source 🌿. It also contains Triacontanol, a natural growth stimulant that helps with root development and metabolic activity during the transition .
Fish, Blood and Bone: This is the "time-release" powerhouse 🐟. The Blood gives that immediate nitrogen kick for the stretch, the Fish adds trace minerals, and the Bone ensures there is a phosphorus reserve ready the moment she starts "stacking" ❄️.
🌿 Transition Strategy
The Plan: Letting the top-dress settle in for a few days before flipping the lights to 12/12 🌑.
Observation: The plant is looking "heavy" and ready 💪. By charging the soil now, I’m making sure she doesn't run out of gas during the most demanding three weeks of her life 🏎️💨.
💡 Pro-Tip: The "Organic Power-Couple" 🤝
The Hint: If you’re following this run, take note of the Alfalfa and Bone Meal combo that's just been added.. You will see 👀
Here’s why this works so well for the flip:
The Alfalfa Kick: Alfalfa doesn't just provide Nitrogen; it tells the plant to build more roots and thicker stems now .
The Bone Meal "Lag": Bone meal is a slow-burn Phosphorus (P) source. By top-dressing it in Week 9, you are feeding flowers that won't exist for weeks 🌸.
Thanks for dropping by.

Green_Claws Week 10 (Veg): The Deep Dark & Mineral Charge 🌑🌋
Status: We have reached the finish line of the vegetative stage! 🏁 This week is all about the final "infusion" before the flip. I’ve officially moved the girls into a 48-hour dark period to crash the chlorophyll production and signal the plant to shift into flower mode immediately. 💤🌓
The Volcanic Mineral "Melt"
The Recipe: Just like the lime trick, I’ve been watering with a mix of Lactic Acid and Volcanic Rock Dust 🌋.
The Goal: Getting that organic Silica and trace minerals (basalt/azomite) deep into the soil. Silica is the "armor" for the plant—it strengthens the cell walls to support the heavy buds that are coming. 🛡️💪
The Result: By using the acid to help break down the rock, those minerals are hitting the roots now, rather than sitting as grit in the soil for months. 🏃♂️💨
🏗️ Structural Reinforcement
The Strategy: The training wires are set, the canopy is wide, and the soil is fully charged with Alfalfa and Bone Meal from last week. 🥗🔋
The Blackout: 48 hours of total darkness 🌑. This "shocks" the plant into realizing the season is over, forcing it to stretch and stack pistils much faster once the 12/12 light cycle begins. ⏳🌸
🌿 The Outlook
The tent is silent and dark. 🤫 When those lights come back on in two days, it’ll be Day 1 of Flower. The transition is primed, the minerals are available, and the "living soil" is ready to perform. 🚀🎡
💡 Reader Pro-Tip: The "Volcanic Armor" 🌋🛡️
The Hint: If you’re following this organic run, don't miss the Volcanic Rock Dust melt
The Secret: Rock dust is packed with Silica, but it's notoriously slow to break down. By pairing it with a weak acid (like Lactic Acid or LABS), you’re "digesting" the stone for the plant. 🍽️ This makes the stems woody and "snap-resistant"—essential if you’re expecting a massive stretch during the first 3 weeks of flower!
**Added pictures from the second I turning the lights back on.. (last 2 pics).. ** they all actually grew a few inch... There now on 12/12...

Green_Claws 🗓️ Week 1 (Flower): Grandpa Zombie — The Awakening 🧟♂️🌑
Status: We are 4 days into 12/12 and the Grandpa Zombie is rising! 🏁 After the 48-hour dark shock, she’s woken up with a purpose. The canopy is looking perfectly flat, and the initial stretch is officially underway. 🚀
🏗️ Canopy & Structure
The "Flat" Goal: Thanks to the training leading up to the flip, the canopy is a level playing field. 📏 Every main site is at the same height, ensuring the light footprint is used to its maximum potential. ☀️⚖️
The Stretch: The vertical launch has started! 🦒 She’s beginning to put some space between those nodes, which is exactly what we want to see to prevent the "Zombie" from becoming too congested in the center. ?
🥗 Soil & Hydration
The "Water Only" Phase: Keeping it simple this week—plain water only. 💧 I’m letting her tap into the Alfalfa and Bone Meal "battery" I charged in late veg. 🔋 The deep green hue on her leaves shows the biology is processing those minerals perfectly. 🍃
Metabolic Surge: I can already see her water demand creeping up as she builds out her flowering skeleton. 📈
🌿 Observations
Genetic Expression: She’s showing great vigor post-blackout. The stems are feeling sturdy, likely thanks to the Volcanic Silica "melt" we ran recently. She’s ready to carry the heavy weight this strain is known for. 💎💪
💡 Reader Pro-Tip: The "Flat Canopy" Advantage 📏💎
The Hint: If you’re following this diary, look at how a flat canopy changes the game in Week 1. 🕵️♂️
The Secret: When your canopy is level, the plant doesn't have to choose which "top" is the boss. 👑 This distributes the flowering hormones (Auxins) equally across every site.
Action Item: During this first week of stretch, keep "tucking" any leaves that try to jump higher than the rest. You want to maintain that "Grandpa Zombie" table-top as long as possible to ensure every bud becomes a "Top Shelf" trophy! 🏆
Thanks for dropping by.. Much love ✌️💚

Green_Claws 🗓️ Week 2 (Flower): Grandpa Zombie — The Monster Stacks 🧟♂️
Status: We are cruising through Week 2 of 12/12! 🏁 While the Sticky Broccoli twins are busy reaching for the roof, the Grandpa Zombie is taking a different, much heavier approach to her stretch.
🏗️ Structure & Canopy: Building the Frame
The "Table-Top" Hold: That perfectly flat canopy we built before the flip is holding beautifully. 📏 She hasn't thrown any wild, runaway branches. Instead, she is keeping all her tops perfectly level, ensuring every future cola gets an equal share of the LED footprint. ☀️⚖️
Thickening Up: She isn't stretching as tall as the Broccolis, but she is stretching wide and thick. The stems on this girl are starting to feel like solid wood. It’s clear she is building a massive, reinforced skeleton to hold the heavy "zombie" weight she’s famous for.
👃 The First Signs of Funk
Stem Rub: I did a quick stem rub today while checking the under-canopy airflow, and the aroma is already shifting. The generic "green plant" smell is gone, replaced by a deep, pungent, old-school earthy funk. ⛽🌲 She is definitely waking up!
💧 Feed & Maintenance
Water Only: Keeping it simple. 🌊 She’s drinking heavily to fuel this structural growth, but I am holding off on any top-dresses or teas. The Bone Meal and Alfalfa from the late-veg charge are providing all the organic Nitrogen and Calcium she needs to build those thick cell walls. 🔋
💡 Reader Pro-Tip: The "Rebar" Stems 🏗️
The Hint: Why are we so happy about thick, woody stems in Week 2? 🤔
The Secret: Heavy Indica strains like Grandpa Zombie produce incredibly dense, heavy flowers. If a plant spends all its energy stretching up and growing thin, spindly branches, those branches will literally snap in half under the weight of the buds by Week 6! 💥📉
Action Item: Make sure your oscillating fans are keeping a constant, gentle breeze on the lower stalks during the stretch. This micro-stress forces the plant to reinforce its cell walls with Silica, turning those stems into solid "rebar" that won't need a dozen bamboo stakes later on! 🌬️🛡️..

Green_Claws 🗓️ Week 3 (Flower): Grandpa Zombie — Short, Stocky, & Stacking 🧟♂️🌸
Status: Unlike the Sticky Broccoli girls, Grandpa Zombie isn't interested in reaching for the lights. She is staying incredibly short and squat, bypassing the stretch entirely to focus all her energy on early flower production!
📏 Structure & The Bloom
The Stretch: Almost non-existent! She has barely stretched at all since the flip to 12/12.
The Canopy: Because she is staying so low, this canopy is going to get full, dense, and compact extremely quickly as these bud sites swell.
The Pompoms: She wasted absolutely no time transitioning. There are early white "pom-poms" popping up everywhere across the canopy! ❄️
⚠️ Handling & Training: A Close Call!
Rigid Stems: I was in the tent today observing the canopy and doing some light handling. I quickly realized just how incredibly thick and woody her structure has become.
The Crack: While trying to adjust a branch, I actually heard a little crack. My heart instantly dropped! 💔 Thankfully, I didn't snap it completely, but it was a massive warning sign. Her stems are way too rigid for any further bending or super-cropping, so from here on out, I am leaving her completely alone to just do her thing!
💧 Feed & Environment
The Feed: Keeping it incredibly simple right now so she can focus on building those early pompoms. She is just getting our standard plain water mixed with Potassium Humate to keep the soil's microbiology active and the minerals bio-available. 🌊🌋
The Bio-Fuel Lab: Organic Horsetail Silica Tea 🌿🛡️
Grandpa Zombie is already incredibly woody, and she is about to pack a massive amount of bud weight onto that compact frame. To make sure those rigid branches can support the incoming heavy colas without snapping, I brewed a natural silica tea to turn her stems into organic rebar!
🎯 The Objective
Horsetail (Equisetum arvense) is a prehistoric weed that pulls massive amounts of silica from the earth. By extracting it into a tea, we get a 100% organic, bio-available silica drench that thickens plant cell walls and dramatically increases branch strength. (Fun fact: It grows wild all over the globe, so you can easily forage this for free!) 🌾
🛠️ Step-by-Step: The Process
Step 1: The Blend & Boil (Unlocking the Silica)
Unlike our simple cold-water ferments, the silica inside Horsetail is locked up tight in the plant tissue. To get the absolute maximum extraction, I threw 1 cup of fresh horsetail straight into the blender to completely pulverize it. Then, I mixed that green mush into a pot with 1 gallon of de-chlorinated water, brought it to a boil, and let it heat for 30 minutes. The blending plus the heat forces all that trapped silica right into the water! 🔥
Step 2: The 24-Hour Steep & Strain
After the 30-minute boil, I took the pan off the heat, let it cool, and left it to steep for a full 24 hours. This long soak is where the heavy silica is actually drawn out. Once the time was up, I ran the entire batch through a filter to separate the liquid from the spent plant material.
📸 (see pictures attached)
Step 3: The Amber Extract & Drench
What we are left with is pure gold! The final result is a jar full of rich, amber-colored silica juice. I took this concentrated tea, added it to my regular watering bucket at a dose of 20ml per Liter alongside my humate, and gave Grandpa Zombie a heavy drench! 🌊
💡 Reader Pro-Tip: The "Snap" Protocol ?🌱
The Hint: What do you do if you actually do snap a rigid branch during flower? 🤔
The Secret: Don't panic and don't cut it off! Unless the branch is completely severed and hanging by a thread, plants are incredibly resilient.
Action Item: If you hear a crack or accidentally split a stem, immediately tape it back together tightly using grafting tape, electrical tape, or even duct tape in a pinch. If you act fast and seal the wound so air can't get in, the plant will heal itself, form a massive woody "knuckle" at the break, and the branch will usually yield just as heavily as the rest!

Green_Claws 🗓️ Week 4 (Flower): Grandpa Zombie — Steady Cruising & Heavy Stacking 🧟♂️🌸
Status: We are officially pushing into Week 4, and honestly, no news is good news with this girl! 📊 After the close call with her rigid branches earlier in flower, she has just been quietly doing her thing. She is completely dialed in, showing zero signs of stress, and just steadily building out her canopy. 🌳✨
📏 Structure & The Bloom
The Slight Stretch: 📈 After completely ignoring the stretching phase early on, she finally decided to give us a little bit of upward movement! It isn't a massive reach, but just enough to give those colas some much-needed breathing room.
The Stacking: ❄️ The photos speak for themselves! Her structure is unbelievably compact, and those white "pom-poms" are multiplying and stacking up perfectly across that flat, even canopy. She is going to be one solid bush of buds. 🌿🏆
💧 The Feed: Fueling the Swell
With the buds officially stacking, we have started tapping into the organic extracts to give her the exact building blocks she needs alongside the staple humate. 🌋
The P/K Push: 🍌🍯 She is getting our homemade Banana & Jaggery FFJ dosed at 2ml per Liter. This provides a perfectly bio-available shot of Phosphorus and Potassium to fuel the floral swelling!
The Armor: 🌊 To make sure those newly stretching stems stay just as thick and rigid as the rest of her frame, she is getting our homemade Horsetail Silica Tea dosed at 3ml per Liter. This keeps the cell walls strong and the vascular flow completely unobstructed!

Green_Claws 🗓️ Week 6 (Flower): Grandpa’s Zombie — The Ancient Forest Maturation 🧟♂️🌲
**Last pic added midweek after a master class in wire training and spacers. Jedi style **
Status: We are checking back in for a major update after a one-week hiatus, and the leap in development is staggering. Grandpa’s Zombie has officially entered its terminal phase. The plant is no longer just "ripening"—it is undergoing a profound physiological metamorphosis, shifting from a vegetative green to a vibrant, prehistoric display of color and resin.
🎨 The Chromatic Spectrum: A Prehistoric Autumn
Anthocyanin & Carotenoid Unmasking: The canopy has erupted into a spectacular array of vivid reds, burnt oranges, and deep yellows. This intense chromatic shift is the result of systematic chlorophyll degradation, where the plant translocates its remaining nitrogen and mobile nutrients into the floral sites.
The "Ancient Forest" Aesthetic: As she nears the end of her life cycle, her structural architecture is taking on a unique, gnarled appearance. With the heavy, resin-coated colas set against the fiery foliage, she looks less like a plant and more like a miniature ancient forest—a relic of a prehistoric landscape.
Floral Consolidation & Biomass Accumulation
The Final Swell: Despite the missed update, the plant hasn't missed a beat. The buds are noticeably fattening up, with the calyxes beginning to "crown" and swell against one another. We are seeing a significant increase in flower density as the plant focuses its final energy reserves on reproductive mass.
Glandular Saturation: The resin production is aggressive. Capitate-stalked trichomes are coating the floral clusters and sugar leaves in a layer of "prehistoric frost," creating a sticky, wet-look finish that complements the deep autumnal tones.
The Late-Stage "Bio-Blitz" Protocol
To support this massive surge in biomass and color, we have maintained a high-octane organic delivery system.
10ml/L Cold-Pressed Seaweed Juice: This heavy dose of cytokinins and complex carbohydrates keeps the rhizosphere firing on all cylinders. It provides the metabolic "fuel" necessary for the plant to complete this intense color shift and final swell without hitting a plateau.
The P/K Surge: Utilizing Banana & Jaggery FFJ alongside Green Sensation to provide the raw phosphorus and potassium required to drive this late-stage density to its genetic limit.
🚀 Strategic Forecast: The Final Descent
With the orange hairs (pistils) starting to recede and the colors deepening daily, we are entering the final chapter.
Structural Integrity: We are monitoring the "hardness" of the colas; we want a dense, woody feel before the harvest window opens.
Environmental Stressing: Maintaining a slightly higher VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) to signal the plant to push its resin production to the absolute limit as a final defensive response.
