Week 1 - well, the start to this girls life has begun with our first challenge. Thankfully it makes for a great example and lesson on what to do when the tap root pops but has difficulty shedding the seed and inner membrane.
As per the photos (sorry about the resolution), she shed her seed but only after popping out of the soil and she wasn’t able to properly break the membrane to spread out her cotelydons. As a result, the membrane was stuck to the tips of each cotelydon pinching them (and the first pair of actual leaves inside) together. If you leave the seedling to figure this out for itself then there’s a good chance that the cotelydons will rot out inside the membrane and the seedling will die.
The solution - SURGERY!!😬. To help this little girl along I took an exacto knife and VERY CAREFULLY stuck it in between the pinched cotelydons and sliced through the membrane in an effort to “manually” split them apart and allow for growth. Well, surgery was an success and the seedling immediately spread right out. Low and behold, the first pair of leaves had already started growing inside the cotelydons and it was like the little plant took a huge sigh of relief. As soon as it gets a little larger I’ll try to get a close up of the cotelydons. You can tell by the yellowing on the tips that we had very little time left. We’re off to the races folks. Thanks for the look👊

Ceres Seeds is a breeder out of Amsterdam with a solid rep. In the biz. We chose this for a purpose as it’s a combination of our 2 all time, fave strains. It’s a sativa dominant cross of Amnesia Haze and Sour Diesel. Pretty much the bees knees for an energetic and uplifting day time smoke.
Method is simple and the same as that of our Skywalker OG: 15gal. Pot with a home brew mix of soil, compost, perlite and coco. Very basic nute regimen. Likely only grow and bloom nutes throughout the whole cycle unless they start to show deficiencies. Realistically, the compost should take care of most of the nutrition but the added nutes once a week just provide that little bit extra👍. It’ll be a competition to see which one gets largest as there will be no training save some minor pruning.😉. The questions, comments and good karma are always welcome and thanks for stopp’n in!👊😎
Week 2 update - things are proceeding well for this little girl following post-natal surgery. As you can see in the mark ups on the photos, that cotelydon tip isn’t nute burned, that’s actually remaining portions of the membrane and damaged tissue from it being pinched and not allowed to spread out in week 1. Worked like a charm and unlike every other seedling to date - this one seems to be responding well to the batch of hot soil we bought this year. Let’s hope it keeps up. Thanks again for step’n through and talk’n shop😉😎👊

Week 3 update - her growth this week hasn’t been as pronounced as her neighbouring Skywalker Kush but her start has been quite a bit healthier for sure👍. Hoping to get them out under the sun this week. If they pick up their growth rate, we’re potentially potting up too. Alls well and happy May 2-4👍😎
May 24 update - repotted and now under the sun, this girl is doing just fine. Gotta keep an eye on er until she’s a little more mature but she’s big enough to leave outside now that the weathers turned👍. Now the real grow truly begins😎

Week 8 update - not much different from her SOGK neighbour. She burst out with 6” of vertical growth this week and is loving the soil/compost medium. She gets slightly less day time sun than the SOGK but should grow comparatively in size regardless I’d think. Alls well folks👍😎😉.

Week 9 update - this one’s come on even more than the larger kush beside er. Almost a foot of vertical growth over the last week! She’s clearly enjoying life right now and only maintenance is regular rain water and a weekly shot of basic grow nutes. Well mix in some compost tea in the coming weeks as well. Also nice to see back this year is some leaf variegation. Had some really pretty deformities in the fan leaves last year that we were worried was only pheno specific to the plant we had jacked. Well, it might be a genetic trait of the strain and similar variation is now showing in the new one👍. IMO just enhances the beauty of a well maintained outdoor👌. Alls good folks, still looking at another month and a half of veg. before we start to see transition😳. Nice!😎

Week 10 update - she’s now tall enough that her upper leaves receive at least a couple more hours of sunlight a day before it sets behind the garage. She’s taking full advantage and stretched over a foot this past week. It was time for both of these girls to get a shot of compost tea. Hit em with about 2.5gal of ecotea a piece and that should keep the medium juiced with bat shit, molasses and other stuff. At least for the next few weeks anyway👍. All is excellent friends👌👊.

Week 12 update - another 8” of vertical growth this past week and she’s lookig excellent. Sturdy, healthy and robust. She’s pretty much 5 feet tall tip to stem and still with lots more time to grow and stretch further👍. She’ll be bigger than last years for sure - primarily due to the pampering she’s getting😉. Alls well and thanks for take’n a look folks👊.

Week 13 update - she’s fantastic and doing excellent. She’s showing some of that unique variegation that we had with this plant last year which is really nice to see. The better half is already starting to worry about unwanted visitors ripping us off so that tells you all you need to know😉. Another 9” of vertical growth this past week. Starting to see some white hairs and I do believe the stretch is on its way. Might toss another compost tea at em this week and it will be the first of 3/4 of these feedings throughout early flower. Alls well as per usual folks. Thanks for swing’n in👊.
July 30 update - these little bastards are the Japanese beetle and apparently represent a real god damn issue if they decide to take up occupancy. Right now they’re on our dill as well as our raspberries. The girls haven’t been visited by em yet but we’re takkng no chances. Bag and tagged the dill today, buying some neem oil tomorrow and will remain diligent✊
August 1 update - looks like stretch and transition is in full force now😎😎😎. She’s gonna be beauts and haven’t seen a single sign of anymore beetles. Flower show come’n up!

Week 14 update - she’s runn’n into the stretch well and flower show should be startn soon. Drinkn well now, about 2 gallons every other day or so - sun and rain dependent. No issues and great spread on the branches. Awesome sight to see a cannabis plant growing naturally👍. Alls good as per usual peeps.

Week 16 update - looks like we were right about the early flower and first budlets have now started to show as she rolls over into the bloom phase. This girl is doing wonderfully and there are again, no issues to report. Maybe early signs of a slight calmag deficiency but nothing to trouble with unless it advances further. Could just be localized leaf damage. We’re now just biding our time to the chop👍.

Week 17 update - the stretch is now tapering off seemingly as these girls start to bulk out the buds. This plant is gorgeous all around, the perfect amount of leaves to buds with enough spread to keep things airy on the inside. No real changes to process - a shot of base nutes every other watering is keeping things in line, ensuring they have all they need. Alls well y’all!😎

Week 18 update - this girls doing great. Pushed out another 3” which should do it for the vertical stretch moving forward. She’s hairing out nicely and I dare say she’ll yield more than her taller neighbour kush👍. Slight bit of nitro deficiency showing at the lower, larger fan leaves but I tend to treat this as normal in this medium and don’t expect any change to the nute regimen. I’m also super impressed with our medium this year. Very simple - equal parts promix soil, perlite, coco and regular compost. This has kept her well accommodated the whole way (so far anyway). Thanks for swing’n in👊.

Week 19 update - alls lookn good coming into week 5 of flower. I’m starting to freak out a little bit. Not only do we have to start worrying about rippers we also have to keep a close watch on er to ensure she hasn’t picked up a hermie issue. She’s good now. Cheers!!!

Week 21 update - week 7 of flower and she’s lookn like a 10 weeker to me at this point. Like the neighbour kush these ladies are starting to yellow out across the larger fans which I’m assuming is a nitro deficiency while she packs on bud weight. This is despite regular nute feedings every watering so they’re both running in overdrive right now. Thinkn about laying down a compost layer just to give em that little bit extra to the finish. Alls well otherwise and anxious to see the end result. Thanks for taken a look!😎👊

Week 22 update - week 8 of flower and she’s still lookn good. The yellowing fans haven’t really advanced (or regressed) and she’s now showing a little calcium def. too. Added some cal mag into the mix for good measure and just to keep the necessary nutrition rolling through the next week or so prior to flush. Alls well but still waiting on the full swell.👍

Week 23 update - coming in to flower week #9 and things are looking good👌. Trichs are colouring up somewhat but I’m still of the mind this one will be the last to chop. Maybe 10 weeks but only time will tell. The kush and 707 will finish out prior to her so it’s all a matter of when there’s time to trim all this down!😂✊. Not much longer now folks - thanks for taggn along for the ride.👊

Week 24 update - as expected she’s taken a little longer to finish out than the rest. Moved er inside mid-week and she’ll be chopped this weekend. The weather turned on us and got cold and rainy which wasn’t good - lost a couple budlets to the rot but that was to be expected too I guess. She’s not nearly as bulky as I would’ve expected but should still count out to a decent weigh. Harvest report to follow shortly and thanks for swing’n by as always.👍😎👊

Finally made it to the end with this one (and finally got around to the harvest report too).
She was pretty much awesome the whole way through save and except that we think a random bumblebee pollinated ‘er mid flower and left us with a few seeds and likely some reduced yield. Overall, we’re happy with the results and will likely grow it again.
We had er running last year but like the Skywalker she was ripped off by an idiot moron half way through bloom. Regardless the final weight is more than sufficient and we’re into a hybrid sativa smoke for the entire winter no problem👌.
Taste & Smell: 🍭🍭🍭🍭
Effects: 🍭🍭🍭
Taste and smell are fantastic. She has all the expected elements of a lemony, diesel scent and flavour that we were looking for. It got really noticeable real fast and you could smell this girl from across the yard.
We haven’t had opportunity to really feel this one out (wayyyy too much new stock that’s keeping us lifted and.... preoccupied😉. That said, what we have experienced is that classic cerebral mellowness in the head combined with a buttery sour diesel punch that leaves ya hazy and confused for a good while👍. No complaints and might change the rating after more “testing”.
Testing update - ran a huge vape session on er last night and I’d say that she’s not overly powerful and def. a good day time option. We got exactly what we were hoping for👌.
Yield🌴🌴🌴
For and outdoor as big as she was we were obviously expecting much better. Her buds were dense but not nearly as thick as hoped and we let er run much much longer than originally planned. This helped to bulk er out as much as possible but again, the extra energy she ended up putting into seed production as well as the lack of a solid synthetic nute regimen really limited her potential.
Our final dried weight: 5.19oz
If ur gonna complain about that, then your expectations are too high or your producing for sale and will soon be in short supply. Alls good this round and we got another great strain to add to our menu👌👍😎.
Props
Most who put a follow on this girl were also tagging along religiously on the Skywalker so we thank you for the support and the discussion👊. Always a blast conversing on GD and thanks also to @growdiaries for making this platform available to us. All the hobby growers on this site are over growing the world and it’s only a matter of time before cannabis culture (at least in my country) is as mainstream as the craft beer market🤘. My harvest season was way too successful this year and we’re blessed for sure. It was also wayyyyy too busy with the regular updates. Now that we’re slow’n up on the grow game as we head into winter we’re looking forward to creep’n around GD a little more often to find that next kick ass grow destined for greatness. Be see’n u freaks around for sure! Grow on fellow pot heads... GROW ON👊😎👊😎👊.
@CRiSPrGrow, u got it brotha👍 As soon as she was tall enough to get an extra hour or two of light that was shaded by our roof she started pumping out heavy. I’m gonna guess she’ll be close to twice her current size when flowering starts and stretch is finished👍👍👍
@CRiSPrGrow, 🤔 hmmm not quite yet I think. Just might look like it now that she’s getting more sun. She’s busting out full inches of growth every day but don’t expect flower for another month or so. Only time will tell right👍. Cheers homie👊
@mr_h_kovert, lol! Cheers bud. She comes down tomorrow actually so may be another couple weeks before the harvest update. Thanks for checkn er out as always👍😎👊
