This week was a pretty solid week. I did have one day where the plants were underwatered (they seemed like they could run an extra 12 hours into the next cycle, but it was not the case). So that was a bit of setback, to help assuage this and any damage done to the roots from the underwatering I brewed up an organic tea. For the tea I used one of the Xtreme Tea tea-bags/activator packs, 30 ml Liquid Karma, 30 ml HP2 (Aurora), a scoop of mycorrhizae, and 15 ml Unsulfered Molasses. Every time I brew a tea with some custom ingredients it's a bit of hit or miss how well the plants receive it, but they seemed to really enjoy this one, really helped them pick back up where they were before getting hit by underwatering.
Now that we got the bad stuff out of the way, things are looking nice and chunky in the garden this week. I'm constantly impressed with the frostiness of this strain, I really feel like they do have a prize-winning Stardawg male over there @GreenpointSeeds. For how different the phenos are in the strain, the one unifying/consistent thing is how friggin' frosty these are.
The phenos continue to deviate from each other more by the day:
The GN#1 is taking on a very tall OG-esque look to it, with a deep funk smell behind the buds. I expect this one to be the latest bloomer out of all, likely going the longest, and probably choosing to bulk up the most in the last weeks rather than the opening ones.
The GN#2 is the chunkiest thing in my garden right now and a COMPLETE head nod to the chems the Stardawg comes from, the nuggets are shaped like pinecones or grenades and the leaf/calyx ratio HIGHLY favors the calyxes. The smell on this lady is similar to the GN#1 with a deep musk to it.
The GN#3 continues to be the frostiest thing in the garden, with #4 and #2 and coming up closely behind it. This one leans the most towards the Island Sweet Skunk of the Golden Goat in my opinion. The smell is really unique and kinda reminds me of berry hash or the mother pheno behind Russian Petrol (Grapefruit Diesel). It is definitely the most unique outlier in terms of bringing Golden Goat into the forefront, the other phenos seem to lean REALLY hard towards chem. #3 is probably the 2nd largest producer in the garden right now.
The GN#4, the lush green meanie. Though other plants have struggled at times with lockouts or deficiencies this plant continues to be a shining beacon of lush green leaves. This plant honestly doesn't give 2 thoughts as to what you do to it or how you treat it, makes the other ladies in the garden seem like primadonnas. The colas are very interesting looking with a contrast of shiny trichs and dark green leaves that have a very "sharp" appearance. This plant is somewhere in the middle of the producers but it does look like the quality of nugget it puts off should keep this one around for a while. The smell on this one is EASY to place, one quick whiff and you're slapped in the face with lemon pinesol cleaner. It's intense. I've had similar smells in MKUltras I've run before, just an absolute nose shattering chem smell.
Since we're closing out week 6 I'll likely start tapering the nutes off, though I highly suspsect these plants will be 10-11 week plants, typically about a week or two longer than most strains I run. So I'll probably taper off a bit slower than usual, though as always the priority is a super clean, well flushed, final product. I'm happy to lose a bit of growth/production to ensure that these are smooth smoking buds.
Happy growing guys! See you next week.
@RussianPetrol, thanks man , yea the batch of oil is very strong , I took just 1ml of oil at 4 in the afternoon the other day and was still laying in bed at 2 in the morning buzzing like a bee lol just couldn't sleep , lol best part is this batch I made a full 1 ltr of it so will last me a very long time I added one Oz per 1 cup of oil so it's a nice one for sure ,
Looking awesome. I just popped a few GPS seeds a couple weeks ago, 2 Dreamcatchers and 2 Chinook Haze. Good to see a few other diaries with their seeds. They appear to have stellar genetics.
@buddha61, That's awesome dude! Good luck with your grow. I have a pack of Dreamcatcher as well so if you're doing a journal for those I'll definitely check it out, I'm really interested to see how those come out for you. This is my first run with GPS seeds but so far I'm really enjoying it, they're absolute frost factories. I'll likely pop some more GPS next round so we'll hopefully get to see how just how stellar the genetics are!
