PavementPunk I made my own living soil with premixed nutrients and minerals from KIS Organics and added peat moss, compost/manure, pumice, biochar, a little worm castings and worms maybe 15 or 20 from my backyard. It actually smells pretty good in the tent like good fresh soil. Or im i a weirdo lol. I feel like i did a decent job mixing the ratios and letting it cook for 3 weeks. It might be slightly light on nutrients but i do have a bit i saved for top dressing. Im hopeful this is a rewarding method. This seedling got a little stretchy. I used a heat mat for the first time and germinated directly into peat pucks. They popped a lot faster than i expected. Hopefully this doesn't hurt things too bad. Environment has been pretty good. Got the light at 16 inches @ 44% power π€happy growing yall βοΈ

PavementPunk Sorry im a day or 2 late w my diaries. Pretty sure the fly issue is negatively affecting 2 of my 3 seedlings. Sigh. Wondering if living soil was a mistake. I put down some pumice around the base of these babies in a small circle as a mulch to hopefully protect their roots. Watered them only where my rocks are. I planted cover crops for the living soil watered everything in and covered it with some dry peat pumice mix i had. I hit that with a decent layer of diatomaceous earth too and another sticky trap or 2. Hoping this helps get it under control. I also gave them all a good bottom watering more to keep the soil moist than to actually water the seedlings, while keeping top layer dry for the flies. I got a flying insect plug in trap on the way too. The BPP RF3 is looking pretty good and doing well at least there is that lol happy growing yall βοΈ
