Breeders chose Haze as the base for Super Silver Haze. This legendary Californian sativa emerged in Santa Cruz in the '60s. The strain owes its complex terpene profile and exciting high to a composition of exotic landraces from Colombia, Mexico, Thailand, and South India. Haze has small, compact buds that strongly smell of Citrus and have a THC content of 18%.
Next, the breeders set to work crossing 2 of the most famous hybrids in the world: Skunk and Northern Lights.
Start date: 11-9-2025
11-9) Today I took 2 seeds out of the fridge to acclimatize, I took out two because it's for two tents of 60x60x140 cm, I'm going to start them right away but if one doesn't germinate, I'll start that one later. The plan is to run the 2 tents simultaneously, but if one seed doesn't germinate, I'll start that one later, which makes sense.
12-9) The seeds are placed for germination using the coffee filter method, with this method I have almost 100% success, temperature during germination +/- 22 degrees. The water I use for germination (and I always use) is spa-reine, which has a pH of 6 and contains some minerals; I don't know if that has an effect, but it can't hurt because it usually works this way. The seeds I'm germinating now are about 4 to 5 years old; I keep them in the fridge in the original packaging and then in an old ice tray of one liter, so they stay cool and dark, and no moisture can get in.
14-9) Today a nice little root appeared after about +/- 48 hours, so I placed the ladies-to-be in a rockwool cube. I prepared 1.5 liters of water for the coming time, added Root stimulator 0.2 ml, pH- 0.5 ml, PF.LF 0.3 grams, EC 1.0, pH 5.7, W.temp 23.0.
15-9) The temperature in the grow tent today maxed at 24.6 and minimum 21.8. I also checked the nutrient water, EC 1.0, pH 6.1; I added 0.2 ml pH- to 1.5 liters of water, the current values are EC 1.0, pH 5.6, W.temp 22.0. The ladies-to-be are already showing some movement; I wouldn't be surprised if they come out of the rockwool cube tomorrow.
16-9) Temp.H 23.4, L 21.2, RHH 65%, L 59%, Lux +/- 26000. Today I turned on the lamp and set it to an 18/6 light schedule. The ladies-to-be stood about +/- 2 cm above the rockwool cube today; I hung the lamp 10 cm above them. The lamp in this tent is the Cosmorrow LED 6500K 20 watts; I have 2 in this tent, but I'm using 1. I also placed the rockwool cubes on satay sticks because one lady already had a root coming out from under the cube, so it stays a bit free from the bottom. This week I'll probably (and maybe even tomorrow) transfer the ladies to the net pot.
17-9) Watered 0.05 liters, W.temp. 21.0, Temp.H 26.2, L 20.8, RH.H 62%, L 53%, EC 1.0, pH 5.8, L.H. 10 cm, Pl.gr. 3 cm, Lux 26,000, Lamp 100%. Gave the lady-to-be a little bit of water; I'm definitely going to transfer them to the net pot and into the 5-liter grow box this week, but I need to see when I have the opportunity for that. If I can do it today, I will, but I still have a few days.
18-09) Watered 0 liters, W.temp. 23.0, Temp.H. 26.4, L. 22.0, RH.H. 64%, L 51%, EC 0.9, pH 5.7, L.H. 10 cm, Pl.gr. 4+5 cm, Lux. 26,000, Lamp 100%. Today I transferred the ladies to the net pots and into the 5-liter grow box; the box holds about 4 liters of water with the values mentioned above. I will adjust the pH tomorrow; it will probably be a bit higher tomorrow, but I want it around pH 5.5 to 5.6. I also turned on the fan now, which provides a little movement. In the photo, you can see that the temperature has risen nicely, and the RH has dropped after the tent has been open for half an hour, but that will be fine again.

I added 0.3 ml pH- and no water; the pH was a bit high, so I'm trying to lower it. Let's see how it is tomorrow. The RH values seem a bit high/low, but I think that still has to do with yesterday. The current Temp and RH are 24.5 and 64%; today those values also rose when the tent was open, so I'll see that again in the values tomorrow. The height of the plants is still 5 cm, but that will be less tomorrow because I'm going to fill the pots with clay pebbles.

Added 0.3 liters, EC 0.7, pH 5.4, W.temp. 23.0; I want the pH to be a bit lower, hence the low pH of the added water. Also topped up the clay pebbles, so adjusted the size of the plant. I also left the tent slightly open; I find the RH a bit on the high side; around 65% would be nice.
21-09) Watered 0.2 liters, W.temp. 24.0, Temp.H. 28.2, L. 24.2, RH.H. 65%, L 56%, EC 1.0, pH 5.8, L.H. 10 cm, Pl.gr. 3 cm, Lux. 26,000, Lamp 100%. Added 0.2 liters, EC 0.7, pH 5.6, W.temp. 23.0; the pH can be a bit lower; it's now 5.8, but I'd prefer it around 5.5 to 5.6. Tomorrow I'll check what the value is then and possibly adjust it.

Later in the afternoon, the ladies were moved to their final destination, I hung the lamp at 60 cm and at 60%, the lux is 11,000, and I also set tent 1 to a 12/12 light schedule. Tomorrow I will fine-tune everything. I also hung an aquarium heater in the bucket as a precaution, and set up the SCROG net. The photos are from tent 1 and from the SSH 4, we will continue with that now, the report for SSH 5 will follow after the end of this grow.

Turned off the dehumidifier in the room, then the RH goes a bit higher, if it gets too high, I’ll turn it back on. I actually want it around 60%, but as long as it stays above 50%, I'm fine with it.

This week the values are reasonably okay, I will raise the pH a bit now.
As you could read, I have converted the grams of the Powder Feeding and PK Booster to Teaspoon and then to per Gallon, I hope it’s somewhat accurate but I think I will recalculate it to milliliters per liter, to be continued.

Today I secured quite a few shoots and removed leaves, you can see that the height to the lamp has increased and the lux value is lower and the plant is smaller again, not that the plant has shrunk but because I secured a lot and I measure the height from the net pot to the top of the plant. I need to wait until tomorrow to see if everything has recovered a bit and then check if I lower the lamp or increase the wattage of the lamp a bit.

All values are actually not really wrong, not super stable but that’s okay. The TDS is slightly below the schedule but that’s fine by me, week 8 I’ll use the same feeding schedule again and then I’ll increase the PK again so also change the water. I’ll lower the lamp to about 40 cm from the plant tomorrow, in my previous grow with this strain, I was already at about +/- 28,000 lux and I want to get back there, I’ll keep the lamp at 85%.

Today refreshed the bucket, added +/- 8 ltr, EC 1.4, pH 6.5, Water temp 21.0, I will measure the values tomorrow, I won’t add anything for now, meaning no pH- or KWG, I’ll check tomorrow if the pH has dropped significantly and then I’ll adjust it. I will also increase the wattage of the lamp to 95% tomorrow, I can’t hang the lamp lower so I’ll just crank up the wattage a bit, growth seems to have stalled so that’s the only option for now.
No complaints this week, I raised the EC a bit and added more PK+ and did this all according to the feeding schedule.

The rest of the values this week are nice; the night temperature has dropped a bit, but thanks to the bucket heater, the water is at a nice temperature, which I find a bit more important. If it gets colder, I’ll turn on the small radiator at night. I managed to lower the lamp by +/- 4 cm and set it from 95% to 90% at the same 32,000 lux, so I have a bit more flexibility.

Today is the last day for this lady, tomorrow I’m going to harvest her, there’s quite a bit of amber in there and I don’t dare to leave her for another week. I’ll try to see if I can take a photo of the trichomes tomorrow, I actually don’t have the equipment for that but I’ll try with my phone and a little telescope. Otherwise, nice values this week.
Also again a type that I will always keep cultivating and thus have in stock, a type that never disappoints

Today harvested, I wanted to take a few photos of the trichomes but that didn’t work out, further cleaned the tent and the rest of the setup, then the wet yield remains, tops 414.9 grams, trim waste 45.0 grams.
Also already calculated the average lamp wattage, this round is 71.5 watts, this is partly because the bloom period was only 8 weeks and that is strange but true especially because it is a haze (11 to 12 weeks). Now I could have started counting 1 and maybe even 2 weeks earlier regarding the bloom but then you would still only be at 9 to 10 weeks which is still short.
