EVD420 Yo, what’s up growmies 🤝 Update on K16 F4. This plant was missed in earlier reports, so the report starts directly from week 4. It was first grown in a small cup, then transplanted into a 2.5L pot. As with the others, it was left on drip irrigation while I was away. After returning, the plant showed excellent condition. It has a very bushy structure, which is typical for the KUST phenotype. The leaves twist and rotate, some turning 90° and even 180°, creating a very distinctive and aesthetic look — exactly the reason I continue working with this phenotype so deliberately. The leaf color is lighter than in the previous generation and lighter than the other numbers currently in the run. Leaves have 6–7 fingers, and a terpene profile is already noticeable in the foliage. When rubbed, the leaves release a light floral aroma. I performed defoliation and switched the plant to flower.

EVD420 During this reporting period, K16 underwent structural maintenance as part of the ongoing grow management phase. The plant was defoliated and topped to control vertical growth and maintain structure. It has been transitioned into flowering. Phenotype observations: • Displays 7-finger leaves. • Shows strong leaf rotation, clearly expressing the characteristic phenotype. • Features long leaf petioles, contributing to its distinct structure. Overall, this is a well-structured and promising plant with clear phenotypic expression. Flowering development will determine terpene and further trait expression.

EVD420 During this reporting period, female pre-flowers became visible. This marks the official start of the flowering count for the remaining plants. No additional structural interventions were required this week. Development remains stable following previous topping and defoliation work. Flowering observation phase begins.

EVD420 Targeted Branch Pollination Selective manual pollination was performed: • One branch pollinated with KUST F3 pollen. • One branch pollinated with Diesel BX Fast F1 pollen. This allows internal line evaluation (KUST influence) alongside an external Diesel-based cross for comparative expression. Controlled Pollination Phase After branch pollination, the plant was moved into a separate pollination box together with the K19 male (as previously planned). K16 will remain in that environment for approximately one week to ensure full and consistent fertilization. Current Status Plant is in early flowering with multi-source pollination strategy applied. Seed development monitoring phase begins.

EVD420 Pollination Phase Completed The pollination cycle has been finalized. All plants that were positioned together in the controlled pollination box have completed the fertilization window. Following this: • The female plant was returned to the main flowering chamber. • Only minimal leaf removal was performed to maintain airflow and light penetration. • The male has been removed from the grow after completing its function. Current Status Pollination appears successful. The line now transitions fully into the seed maturation phase. Monitoring will focus on proper development and uniform seed ripening over the coming weeks.

EVD420 Pollination has been completed successfully, and the plant shows clear signs of seed development across the canopy. Phenotypic Observations The plant has now evened out structurally, aligning well with the typical KUST phenotype expression. At this stage, no particularly unique traits stand out compared to the rest of the line. However, overall development looks healthy and stable. Upper colas are forming very attractive flowers, similar to what is observed in other K-line plants. Current Status The plant continues progressing through flowering and seed maturation. Further evaluation will be possible closer to the end of the cycle.

EVD420 Aroma Profile The aroma shows diesel-like notes, which are the most noticeable at this stage. Seed Development Seeds appear to be fully matured and ready for harvest. Maintenance Removed excess foliage to improve airflow and overall plant condition. Current Status The plant has been transitioned to pure water (flush phase). Estimated time to harvest: ~2 weeks.

EVD420 Harvest Single plant in this run. Seeds have fully matured, and the plant has completed its cycle. The plant has fully faded (yellowed out), indicating it has given all its energy to seed production. Aroma Profile The aroma remains fairly neutral and generic, without standout characteristics. Result The plant is now being harvested, and seeds are being collected. The cycle is completed, with material secured for further evaluation.

EVD420 Breeding Strategy During this cycle, K16 was used for multiple breeding directions, including: * Selfing (K16 × K16) * Backcrossing toward KUST line (KUST F3 influence) * Outcrossing with Diesel The initial intention was to reinforce and explore KUST-related traits, particularly leaf behavior and structure, even though K16 does not fully express a classic KUST phenotype. Phenotypic Notes * Partial expression of KUST traits: * noticeable leaf rotation * active light response behavior * Flower structure leaned more toward DC Gamma Bloom type: * relatively large buds * shared lineage from Chronic Rider F1 background Observations K16 appears to be a hybrid expression point between: * KUST structural traits * DC Gamma Bloom-type flower formation This makes it less clearly defined, but potentially useful as a genetic bridge. Strategy Moving Forward No fixed conclusions at this stage. The next step is to: * run a full population from collected seeds * perform selection based on real phenotypic expression Result The cycle is completed. A diverse genetic pool has been created, including selfed, backcrossed, and outcrossed material — ready for deeper evaluation in the next generation.
