KnightRider Hey Cannafam, Welcome to my Purple Medicine diary 😊 Firstly thank you to James at RQS for sending me the seeds 🙏 This strain from RQS has been on my to try list for a while, mainly because shes rich in CBD, i love the Purps and shes mainly indica so im hoping she'll provide good pain relief and aid sleep. Ive mixed 50 gram of the RQS feed pelletts so this should be a low maintence run. Seed germinated in 48 hrs and was planted just below the soil surface with great white sprinkled on, another 48 hours and shes just popped up today and nearly shed her casing. PPFD is at 220 with a DLI of 17. Lets see what this gal can do! 💜💜💜

KnightRider Hey Cannafam Happy Weekend, My gals had a really good start this week, ice kept the lights at 220 ppfd and the DLI of 17 as she seems quite happy with no stretching, but i will start to gradually increase this over the next week. Shes just had mainly plain water this week with one dose of great white. In terms of growth shes got slight mutation on her second set of true leaves but im not overly concerned as the newest set seem to comin through ok. Environment wise oddly at the moment im having issues keeping my humidity up, i say oddly because i never have this problem and its normally to high! KnightRider Hey Cannafam 😊, My little Purplematics been doin just fine this week. Growth has been good and shes put out a few more leaves and side shoots have started coming out. Environment wise ive got my humidity where it needs to be by using a wet tea towell placed in the tent which ive been letting dry slighly when to humid, and wetting more when humidity is to low, sometimes the old tech is the best 🤣 The light has been increased this week to 360 PPFD and shes on a DLI of 24. The new growth has no mutation and is quite broad, in terms of growth shes deffo gonna be a stocky shorter gal as suggested on the RQS website, so my plan is to keep it simple and grow her straight up, possibly with some training later on with side branches. Ive also recently bought some supplimental light strips which ive added and will also be used when shes in flower, these are new to me so will be interesting to see if they improve things 🤔 Thats all for this week, thanks for stopping by 😊✌️

KnightRider Hey Cannafam Happy Weekend, Well my plans have been turned upside down this week. I did want to grow this gal au natural but her fan leaves are so big and broad(and beautiful) that they were completely shading out the auxilary shoots, i did try using the side lighting initially but it was still like they had a gazebo over them and i could see that it wasn't going to work without removing all fan leaves, so so weve gone training baby! Ive pinned her down with a mix of turf pins and twisty ties and done some light defoliation and leaf tucking, shes looking a bit messy but il contiinue on with her structure this week, so much for my low maintenence grow 🤣 Condition wise she has some clawing to her leaves and i think she has a bit of nitrogen toxicity, on reflection the last time i used the RQS pelletts it was with a much lighter soil and its a bit too much with the Royal mix. Shes just been given water with some Ecothrive trace minerals for absorbtion and Great White and thats all she needs currently. Environment has been challenging this week with humidity being two low at the start of the week(wet tea towel control), too high mid week and now to low again and ive had to monitor things continously and make adjustments. Ive lowered the light slighly this week and PPFD is at 430 with a DLi of 30. Despite some challenges this gal is still growing vigorously and pumpin out leaves, shes about to start flowering and really happy with her progress 😊 Thats all for now thanks for stoppin by 💜💜💜

KnightRider Hey Cannafam 💚 My gals had a good stretch this week and is now in flower 😊 Shes really come on and is already showin hints of purple. Ive been tweaking her structure and done further defoliation to improve airflow and to expose bud sites, the lower branches have grown out and the canopy is now fairly even For watering shes had some great white, trace and a small shot of calmag. Ive given calmag as for some reason the feed pelletts have Magnesium but not Calcium. On environment the light has been turned up to about 75%, shes now sitting at 520 PPFD with a DLI of 40. Humidity has been more consistant this week and is just about right but will be reduced further as she progesses. Ive not used the side lighting as yet my reasoning being that she will grow out side ways rather than up messing up the structure, however im gonna start trailing during the next week and stretching stops as her underside is a bit dark. KnightRider Hey Cannafam Happy Weekend 💚 Its been a bit of a adjustments week for my gal, ive started using the side light bars which have been attached vertically to the tent poles, they do come with metal strips to attach to the outside of the tent but i didnt feel these were quite strong enough and also the lights get quite hot which is of slight concern if sitting on the tent material! Ive been tinkering about and with them on setting 10 it was causing spikes in tempreture so they've been runnin on level 7 which seems to penetrate the plant quite well. I have noticed that with the side lights and main rig shes started showing a bit of light stress so ive backed off, raised the main light and turned down, shes now getting 300 ppfd from above and 200 ppfd on her sides, we'll see how she responds and adjust accordingly. Environment has been pretty much spot on with VPD between 0.96 - 1.07 for the week averaging about 1.01. Growth wise shes been really good, a few more tiers of leaves and flowers have started well, theres been a bit of defoliation this week and il train a bit more this week for airflow. KnightRider Hey Cannafam, Flowering continues this week and this gal seems quite happy, Buds are coming along nicely with the beautiful purple tones starting to spread along fan leaves and also stems, she also now starting to frost up a bit 😊 Lighting wise ive kept the main light the same at 300 ppfd about 50% power and the side lights up to level 8 with about 220 ppfd, together im only using about 90 watts on lights so pretty efficient, she seems pretty happy but i did overwater at the beginning of the week as she was drying out quicker. Environment has been pretty consistant this week with humidity under control and VPD at 1.2. Theres been a noticible increase in smell which had been slowly building but i now have to watch, as if the tents opened to long it does petmiate the room and with previous grows sometimes this has gone through the adjoining wall seperating me and our neighbour, unfortunately in the UK you can still get arrested should the police be called for having nature in your home untaxed! KnightRider Hey Cannafam Happy Weekend 😊 My Purple gals been doing ok this week, we've had a few days that have been damp n chilly so its mainly been about battling humidity and the dehumidifiers been going non stop, whereas ladt week it wasn't required at all. Ive kept lighting levels the same as she seems to be in a sweet spot and i don't want too cook her at this delicate stage, VPD has been up and down due to humidity but ive managed to keep it betweem 1.0 - 1.3 so all good. Her flowers are developing nicely and shes at that nice stage when the gaps between nodes starts to slowly reduce and i start to get impatient 🤣 Shes showing beautiful shades of both purple pink and is one good lookin gal, i don't think il ever get bored of the Purps 😍 Feed wise im still keepin it simple as she still has a bit of nitrogen clawing and theres plenty of food left in the soil, shes just had a bit of calmag and continuing every watering with the trace for micro nutrients. KnightRider Hey Cannafam Happy Weekend, My gals had a mixed week, she started yellowing and dropping of some of her lower and mid leaves i beleive due to a phospurous deficency and has just been super hungry so ive started adding in some green sensation for a little boost. Ive also been battling humidity again this week with the dehumidifier runnng 24/7 but VPD has been kept in the range of 1-1.3 so all good. Development wise shes started maturation and pistils have started turning brown, her flowers are coming along nicely and have been building and shes a beautiful almost black purple. Smell has increased again and i can only have the tent open briefly b4 she honks the room out! Thats all from me for now,thanks for stopping by 😊✌️

KnightRider Hey Cañafam, Firstly sorry for the late update as ive been on holiday since the mid of last week. Before going i gave this gal a good watering to see her through but she was dry n thirsty when i got back yesterday. I made a mistake in thinking she was deficient last week as shortly after giving a PK boost she burnt on her leaf tips pretty much immediately, more leaves higher up the plant have started yellowing and ive realised that this is probably the cumlative effect of light stress, its my first tun with these supplemental lights and i think she just didn't start showing majorly earlier. I immefiately dailed back the side lights to level 5 and my top light down so that she was receiving about 400 ppfd collectively. Whilst away i also turned off the main light as my controller is broken so shes been on just side lights for most of the week. Development wise shes still building but has started maturing quite fast, pistils have turned brown all the way down the plant but she has been shooting out new ones also, calyxs are swelling noticibly and shes definitely getting close, i reckon another week or two but we'll see. Her buds are coming along nicely, shes now covered in Cbd frost and allott of the bud sites have joined making some nice big colas, its just a case of slow and steady with the lights and continue to water with the micronutrients to help her use up whats in the soil. KnightRider Hi Cannafam Happy Weekend 😊 This gals had a good but slowing down week, shes now stopped shooting out new pistils and she was still bulking a bit at the beginning of the week. This however has now stopped, pistils are brown all the way down and shes esentailly at peak maturity. The Trichome pics were taken a couple of days ago and are mostly cloudy with a few clear here and there and a few amber. Flushing has now also commenced and im just waiting on her to dry out a bit before harvest at some point soon when shes dried out. KnightRider Hey Caanafam 💚, Well weve come to the end for this gal, she got the chop after my last update. An initial trim was done of the larger fan and secondary leaves and she was then hung upside down in the tent for 14 days, tempreture was 20 degrees C and humidity at 50% Shes had a further trim of sugar leaves today and put into jars for curing. Ive ended up with exactly 2oz so pretty happy with the result as this was a fairly low power grow even with the side lights in flower. Growth was strong throughout and shes been absolutley stunning to look at i love the Purps 😊 Flower structure is fairly open which seems to be genetic rather than environmental or feeding and is consistant with other diaries ive looked at on here. I haven't tried her yet but shes giving off aromas of berries, citrus and rubber so quite and unusual mix. Il let her cure for a bit and will update shortly.
