Germination

tantrumrage 03/02/26 - 08/02/26: germinated the last batch of seeds before the higher temperatures during summer will turn my attic into an oven. Had to restart because the first three seedlings did get eaten by fungus gnats larvae :( I've been battling the fungus gnats for over a year now and decided to go with the nuclear option: cooking my soil with hot water and let it sit for 1-2hrs. Hopefully none survived. Until the soil has dried a bit ill be using jiffies for the seedlings and do a transplant afterwards. See you next week!

tantrumrage 09/02/26: - 15/02/26: Transplanted them into 2,2l self watering pots didn't fill up the reservoir yet. Some of the fungus gnats larvae survived last weeks soil treatment, however I was sort of expecting it. Good news is it's a lot less of them now and the seedlings are still alive. Fed some nematodes yesterday and will do so again in 7 days, hopefully they'll get the job done. Not much visual growth going on as they are developing their root system. tantrumrage 16/02/26 - 23/02/26: another week gone by, fed some more nematodes and also realised I've left the socket on the back of tent open. Probably attracted some fungus gnats from the room 😅

tantrumrage 24/02/26 - 01/03/26: this week I did top Radical Juice and Do-Si-Dos x Purple Punch. Not sure about Minty Black 98, will give her a couple more days to grow. Also prepped another batch of soil for the upcoming transplant. Should've done it earlier as the plants are already ready for transplantation. They'll have to wait a bit longer though. Fungus gnats are starting to die off 🤗

tantrumrage 02/03/26 - 08/03/26: it's been a rather busy week. Prepared the new Euroboxes and transplanted all three plants into their new forever home, also added Mycorrhizae this time. Started minor training and will probably top them one more time. See you next week and happy growing! 🌱

tantrumrage 09/03/26 - 15/03/26: this week I've topped Radical Juice and Do-Si-Dos x Purple Punch for the second and probably last time. Trimmed the inward facing leaves and added more stakes to train the plants. Minty Black 98 is growing rather bushy so I didn't top her again. Only LST and I've clipped a couple of the lower and thinner nodes for better light and air penetration. Will give another feeding of nematodes next week and then finally add some mulch (lava pebbles). See you next week!

tantrumrage 16/03/26 - 22/03/26: All three plants made good progress this week. Did some more LST on all three to maintain an even canopy and break apical dominance. I've also topped Minty Black 98 again ✂️ Nematodes are still battling the fungus gnats so I'll do another feeding in 6 days and then finally add some mulch 😅 Couple more weeks in veg for recovering and then 12/12. See you next week and thanks for stopping by!

tantrumrage 23/03/26 - 29/03/26: Sunday is training day 💪🏻 did some more defoliation and LST to keep the canopy leveled. Minty Black is growing really bushy so I tried my best to spread her open but had to take off quite a few leaves. But she'll recover, she always does :) Increased PPFD to around ~580 to promote growth and fill out the now empty space 🌱 Happy growing and see you next week!

tantrumrage 30/03/26 - 05/04/26: Did some light defoliation and LST during the week. But nothing intense so the plants can focus on producing bio mass as I'll flip them to 12/12 soon. Moved them over into the flowering tent, no training today. Will (probably) add the small scrog per box during next week. Overall they are looking happy and vigorous. They took the toppings really well, Minty Black 98 did suprise me as she stared out rather stocky but she's spreading really good 😊 Thanks for stopping by and see you next week! 🌱

tantrumrage 06/04/26 - 12/04/26: I've flipped them to 12/12 4 days ago but will still consider this week as vegetative growth. But stretch should start soon. Did some minor defoliation and LST prior to flipping them. This time I'll probably be using a SCROG net for the entire length of the tent rather than one for each container. I think I'll get a more even canopy this way :) Messed up my VPD when changing tents an they've been running at 1.6 for roughly 12hrs. Do-Si-Dos is showing some signs of Mg deficiency which I think was caused by the VPD being to high. She seems happy now but leaves will remain damaged. Discovered some larvae in the tanks, probably fungus gnats so I've added some BTI to the water. Don't want them to repopulate. Thanks for dropping by and see you next week 🌱

tantrumrage 13/04/26 - 19/04/26: We're officially in flowering and pistils are starting to pop up :) Stretch is starting to kick in, Minty Black 98 is being outpaced by the other two so I adjusted her height accordingly. Not much to do right now, trying to tuck in the leaves here and there and filling up the tanks. Gave some more BTI and nematodes but I think the fungus gnats are starting to disappear 🤞🏻 thanks for checking in and see you next week 🌱

tantrumrage 20/04/26 - 26/04/26: Full flowering mode activated. the bud sites have started to develop visibly, Purple Punch x Do-Si-Dos is a little bit ahead of the other two. Minty Black 98 will probably stay smaller but hopefully produces some nice buds. Just filling up the tanks every other day and waiting to hit day 21 so I can lollipop the girls. Thanks for checking in and see you next week! happy growing 🌱

tantrumrage 27/04/26 - 03/05/26: We've finally passed the 21 day mark so I decided to defoliate and lollipop all three plants :) Also tied down and rearranged some branches to get an more even canopy and better light distribution. Budsites are in full flowering mode and full of pistils, Do-Si-Dos x Purple Punch is already starting to smell quite nicely 🤤 Thanks for checking in and see you next week! Happy growing 🌱

tantrumrage 03/05/26 - 10/05/26: not much to do this week other than filling up the tanks. They all stayed rather small but overall I'm still happy as the smell is getting stronger and stronger: very sweet and fruity. Minty Black doesn't smell that strong yet. Thanks for checking in and see you next week. Happy growing 🌱

tantrumrage 11/05/26 - 17/05/26: Not much to do right now but to wait. Decided to add some nutes this time as I felt like they are looking a bit "hungry". Probably more of an pH issue/lockout than real deficiency. Not too worried as they will definitely make it across the finish line. The Do-Si-Dos and Radical an still dominant when opening the tent, Minty Black has more of a generic weed smell up to now. Maybe she will suprise me after all. Thanks for checking in and see you next week. Happy growing 🌱

tantrumrage 18/05/26 - 24/05/26: All three are getting fatter every day and the smell inside the tent is lovely. I guess Purple Punch X Do-Si-Dos will be the first to finish and Minty Black 98 will be last. Environment isn't ideal because of the summer but they'll survive. It's only a couple more weeks now anyways. Thanks for checking in and see you next week! Happy growing 🌱

tantrumrage 25/05/26 - 31/05/26: We're approaching the final phase of this grow. Buds are swelling and fattening up so it's not too long until harvest. Maybe 2nd week of June 🤔 Summer is definitely here and it's a bit warmer inside the tent than what I usually aim for but it should be fine. The plants are looking happy and that's the most important thing. Thanks for checking in and see you next week! Happy growing 🌱

tantrumrage We're officially in the 2-3 weeks window now 🤞🏻 Water consumption is going down and buds are getting chonky. That's the time when I usually start to look at the trichomes. Do-Si-Dos is probably the first one to get the ?, followed by Radical and Minty as last one. I'm currently on in holiday so the pictures are already 3 days old 😅 hopefully they won't be toast by the time I get back. Thanks for checking in and see you next week! Happy growing 🌱 edit: there has been a 12 hrs power outage, so I guess this means this grow is done for. just checked the humidity it went up to 90%. Bloody shame :(

Hold your ground against the fungus gnats. I would recommend neem oil and nematodes to kill the larvae. This way, you can protect the microorganisms without having to use direct heat. But boiling water will do the trick. Good luck!
tantrumrage
tantrumrage commented4mo ago
@Oldwied, haven't tried neem oil as I was worried it would mess up my soil. The nematodes didn't help anymore, I guess the fungus gnats population was to strong 😅
