NewNewbie Since my last Biscotti run was stressed so hard that it hermed, i thought of using the seeds it produced to run a few tests with this strain and a few substrates. Since the genetics should (in theory) be quite similar, i deemed this the right time for this experiment. Plant 1: Is in pure, unbuffered Kokos substrate. It gets fed with mineral fertilizer. It is my first time growing with pure Kokos. Plant 2: Is grown in soil. The soil consists of some soil mix from the gardencenter and some wormcastings, also some chickenshit. It is only fed with organic fertilizers (if it needs to). Plant 3: Ill do it the way i think is best. In my Case im mixing soil with wormcastings and kokos. Ill use organic and mineral fertilizers. Since my space is very limited ill only veg them for a short period of times. Feel free to drop me some advice, especially on the kokos :)

NewNewbie Week 2 for the Kokos PLant, week 1 for the Soilgirls. The kokos plant started to get yellow lower leafs in week 2, so i gave her some Hesi TNT Complex. Both others just got plain water. The Soil plants were set into bigger pot after showing more then seedling leafs, so they grew way faster. Pot size seems to be one of the most important factors in the early stages.

NewNewbie Week 3 for the Coco Plant, week 2 for the ones in soil. The ones in soil are doing great. The organic one is recieving nothing but PHed Water. Great growth, big leaves. The one in earth coco mix is recieving a little watered down version of the coco nutrient mixture. Shes a bit smaller, but she also had a slower start i suppose. The coco one is struggeling a bit, after some light decoloration of the leaves i decided to add some CalMag. To keep the growth a little more horizontal and bush them out a bit, i decidet to top them.

NewNewbie Week 4 for the coco plant, week 3 for both others. The Plant in soil is happy and thriving, the one in my mix is also fine. The little slower growth is just her being behind after transplant, which she did not like as much. The coco plant is troubeling me, and i think its because i ignored the warning to buffer the coco. Ph runoff is at 7, and this is to high. i flushed with 5.5 PH water and gave her a double dose of calmag. If any of you got some recommendations for me on how to get my coco plant healthy, im happy for every advice. :)

NewNewbie Week 5 for the cocos plant, week 4 for the rest. The Soilplant is by far the most vigorous growing plant. It seems to be a phenotype thing, because she also has bigger internodial spacing then the other 2 Plants. Shes happy and thriving. The Plant in mixed substrate is also doing fine, even tho her growth pattern is more compact. The coco plant seems to have stabilized, newer growth is green and she seems to recover. For this week, i cut the lighting 1 hour every day to make the transition into bloom more natural. The plants all got a little LST and defoliation for the leaves which shade nodes.

NewNewbie Week 5 for the plants in soil, week 6 for the coco plant. My light is now at 12/12 and the plants are starting to go into flower. Nothing much to say, i think i managed to get the coco plant back on track. I dont think she can keep up with the soilgirls, but thats on me. Might have to do another coco run with the knowledge i gained from this one. Cheers :)

NewNewbie Beginning of week 6 for the plants in soil and week 7 for the coco plant. The plants are at the end of the first week of flower. while the coco plant is still struggeling, both other plants seem to do very well. im giving both mineral fed plants a shock of phosphorus, to speed up the otherwise slow transition into bloom. Besides that, i decidet to remove the lower growth and do a slight lollipopping, so the plants dont waste energy on developing the lowest buds. I also trimmed off larger fanleafs where they blocked off developing top buds. lets see how far the stretch will go and how long it takes to start the trichome developement. Ironically, the best doing plant is the all organic one. Doesnt look to good for my gardening and feeding skills. 😅 To be fair, it seems to be the strongest pheno.

NewNewbie Beginning of week 3 of Flower. The differences are starting to become noticable. The plants recieving mineral fertilizers started showing trichomes a few days earlyer. Also the Bud structure seems less leafy and the bud size seems to be bigger. Sadly the synganic plant started to show a few nanners, but i was expecting this, since the seeds were from a hermie. i removed them in hopes of no pollination, lets see how this goes.

NewNewbie I have been gone for the week, so the temperature and humidity were getting a little out of hand. Also the plants stretched quite a bit again, which i didnt anticipate, so they were growing very close to the lights. This led to foxtailing on all of them - i guess the high humidity was the key factor here. In Flower now the differences in the different substrates and feeding seem to really shine through. For the fully organic plant: Produced bud with very much leaf in it, also the smallest /most airy buds. Trichomes also seem to be less developed on this one. For the plant in coco: Mineral feeding with less N seems to reduce the ammount of leafs in the budsights quite a lot. Sadly it is the smallest plant, but thats on me. Trichomes are per usual. For the synganic plant: The mix of good micronutrients from the substrate and the mineral feedings seem to be working good with my type of growing. By FAR the biggest buds, and also the most frosty ones so far. Also a little leafy, i think because of the high N content of the soilmix she is standing in.

NewNewbie No more stretch, just fattening of the buds. Synganic plant is doing the best by far, biggest buds and most trichomes. Cocos plant is now also fattening up, but slowly. Just didnt get her right the weeks before, maybe next time. The organic plant is doing the worst in flower so far. The extreme foxtailing has led to long and thin buds, but im trying to get her to also fatten up. I did put some organic PK nutrients in her feeding, and it seems to start working a little bit. I hope the buds dont stay that slim.

NewNewbie Plants seem to be mostly ripening and the buds are just adding a little more mass. The synganic plant is throwing on some nice shades of light purple on some buds and is getting frosty. Some of the Pistils are turning orange/brown slowly. The organic plant seems to still be putting on mass, she is the least ripe one from my perception. Still white pistils. The cocos plant seems to be the most ripe one, many trichomes allready milky and most pistils orange. I have reduced the nutrients while keeping PK in the mix, slightly upped PH and reduced the night temps a little. Also, im giving them more of a dryback to stress them a little. Smooth sailing from now on, i hope-

NewNewbie Just some more ripening from all plants, some leaves on some plants are starting to turn fall colors. When checking trichomes on all, i can still see mostly milky, so i think i will give them about a week more and check again.
