The girls look pretty good so far and it won't be long until harvest, but I somehow hoped they would grow bigger. Next time, I'll give it a bit more gas at the beginning :)

@Draken91, I'll try to explain.
This is what we call senescence. In this specific context, the plant recovers valuable nutrients (like nitrogen, magnesium, and phosphorus) from the old leaves to transfer them to the young parts, seeds, or roots before the leaf falls off. Here's what happens technically:
Chlorophyll degradation: The green color disappears, revealing the yellow pigments (xanthophylls) or orange pigments (carotenoids) that were masked.
Recycling: The plant "empties" the leaf of its resources to avoid wasting them.
Abscission: Once emptied, a small corky plug forms at the base of the leaf stem to detach it cleanly.
It's a natural and healthy process: the plant sacrifices its old parts to ensure its survival or reproduction.
That's basically it. So if it's a bit too early, a small dose of nitrogen but not much. Have a good day!
@squalino, Thanks for your effort! I noticed that you can translate directly, which is why I'm responding like this now :) Basically, I know this process from the photoperiods as well, just much later, which is why I wasn't absolutely sure.
