Nocone_Purple Iโ€™ve started this run with an Afghani photoperiod seed from Zamnesia, a classic indica strain Iโ€™ve been wanting to run properly from seed for a while. I planted it directly into a small container inside a propagator to maintain high humidity for an ideal start. The substrate is light and airy with good drainage to prevent excess water retention, which is crucial at this early stage. Iโ€™m keeping the soil slightly moist, not soaked, to help the seed crack without risking damping off. Temperatures are stable around 22โ€“25ยฐC, and humidity inside the propagator is high, creating a perfect microclimate for germination. Lighting is kept gentle at this stage just enough to support early growth without stressing the plant. The plan for this grow is fairly aggressive training. Iโ€™ll be doing multiple toppings to keep the plant low, encourage lateral growth, and maximize the number of tops. The entire harvest is intended for bubble hash, so the main goal is resin production rather than big colas. Iโ€™ll be focusing on plant health, stable environment, and techniques that boost trichome development. Expecting the first sprout to show in the next few days. If all goes well, weโ€™re aiming for a strong, resin-heavy result. Stay tuned ๐ŸŒฑ

Nocone_Purple The first week started strong, with the plant developing in a controlled environment and placed in a very small pot to intentionally introduce mild stress early on. This approach is meant to build resilience through successive transplants, preparing the plant for more demanding techniques such as multiple toppings later in its growth. So far, the plant is adapting well, showing healthy color and steady development, with no visible signs of excessive stress. Its response to this early-stage stress will play a key role in its future performance, especially in how it handles more intensive training methods. The main goal of this grow is to achieve up to 64 main colas through successive toppings, while allowing the plant to fully occupy the entire tent space for even and optimized development. This strategy requires careful stress management and proper timing of interventions to ensure the plant remains vigorous and productive throughout its lifecycle. The objective is to build a โ€œhardenedโ€ plant from the beginningโ€”one that can handle aggressive training without significant setbacks in growth

Nocone_Purple During the second week, the plant continued its development following a recent transplant into a larger container. A mild yellowing has been observed on the lower leaves, which is consistent with temporary transplant stress and root adjustment after relocation. At this stage, the plant appears to be reallocating energy towards root establishment, which can result in a short period of reduced nutrient uptake in the lower foliage. The upper growth remains the primary focus and continues to indicate overall stability. This response is generally typical after transplanting and is expected to stabilize as the root system re-establishes and adapts to the new medium. No major signs of systemic stress are visible, and recovery should continue as the plant resumes normal growth patterns.

Nocone_Purple Week 3 and things are starting to get interesting. The Afghani is developing nicely with that classic indica structure short internodes, broad leaves, and a compact, bushy growth pattern. She has responded well to the environment so far, with steady growth and no major issues. Iโ€™ve started the training this week and did the first topping to begin shaping the plant. The goal is to keep her low and push for multiple main tops, and sheโ€™s already showing good potential for that. Side branches are coming in strong, and Iโ€™m encouraging horizontal growth to open up the canopy. This will be important later on to maximize light penetration and overall efficiency. Feeding has been kept moderate to avoid overdoing it at this stage. The plant looks healthy with a nice green color, so Iโ€™m just maintaining a balanced approach and letting her do her thing. Environment remains stable good humidity and temps, no stress signs so far. Iโ€™ll likely continue with more toppings and possibly some LST in the coming days to really spread her out. Everything is on track for the plan: build a wide, even canopy and aim for maximum resin production later on for bubble hash. Stay tuned ๐ŸŒฑ

Nocone_Purple This week I went for topping and started shaping the plant into a quadline. I kept nodes 3 & 4 to create 4 main branches and cleaned up the lower growth (light lollipopping) to focus energy on the main structure. The plant handled the stress very well no signs of shock, healthy green color, and already pushing new growth on all branches. Currently focusing on LST to spread everything evenly and build a flat, symmetrical canopy. Plan is to let her recover for a few days and then continue topping towards 8, 16, and potentially 32 tops. So far very happy with the structure and growth rate strong genetics showing

Nocone_Purple The Afghani is responding amazingly to training. Kept 4 main branches from the lower nodes instead of a classic top-only manifold and the structure is turning into a very even bush already. Daily LST and a bit of selective defoliation opened the center nicely and now every shoot is reaching for the light. Growth exploded after recovery thick stems, tight internodes and that classic compact Afghani structure. The canopy is getting wider every day and multiple future tops are developing at the same pace. Goal is 32 tops before flip, maybe even 64 if she keeps growing like this

Nocone_Purple The plant is responding exceptionally well to the training regimen. After the mainline cut in week 4, followed by the second topping just 3 days ago, new growth is already pushing through at all cut sites. The structure is developing exactly as planned perfectly even canopy with no dominant growth patterns, which is the whole goal of this approach. The Landrace Afghani genetics are proving to be responsive and vigorous. Thereโ€™s no visible stress from the training, coloration is healthy green across all foliage, and stem strength is solid. The stems are thickening nicely, which is important for supporting multiple heavy tops during flower. Currently sitting at 8 tops after the second topping round. Planning the third topping in 5-7 days once the new branches develop enough length. Target is 32 tops total by the time we flip to flower in about 3-4 weeks. The plan is to let this fill the entire 0.8x0.8m space uniformly before going into 12/12.

Nocone_Purple This week the plant showed strong recovery and steady structural development after intensive training. Multiple topping sessions and LST have successfully shaped a well-defined mainline structure with strong symmetry and vigorous lateral growth. Despite a recent stem split caused by aggressive bending, the plant recovered quickly and is now actively producing new growth without signs of stress or slowdown. The stem is already showing clear signs of healing and strengthening at the affected site. The decision to reduce the final structure to 16 main tops has helped refocus energy into stronger, more uniform branch development. Internodal spacing remains compact, and the overall canopy is starting to level out nicely. At this stage, the plant is entering a stable vegetative phase focused on rebuilding momentum and thickening branches before the final transition into flowering. Overall: very healthy recovery, strong structure, and excellent response to training. ๐ŸŒฟ

Nocone_Purple The plant is now showing strong recovery and stable development after multiple training sessions, including repeated topping, mainlining, and LST. Despite being grown in previously used soil without dedicated vegetative nutrients, the plant has maintained healthy vigor, likely benefiting from residual organic matter in the medium. The stem has significantly thickened, forming a strong structural base capable of supporting multiple main colas. After a recent stem split caused by aggressive bending, the plant has successfully healed and resumed normal growth with no visible signs of long-term stress. New growth is actively pushing, and the canopy is becoming increasingly even and structured. Currently in late vegetative stage, the plant is developing a well-defined mainline structure with 16 planned tops, focusing on balanced canopy distribution before the transition to 12/12 flowering. Overall: strong structure, good recovery ability, and very promising training response.
