As if I didn’t have enough going on. I decided to add a 3rd tote to my NFT ebb and flow setup just for kicks. Mainly because i have really wanted to try the dark devil and things have been going pretty well with the others! So off to the races we go!

They didn’t come out of the gate quite as quick as my other NFT project and were quite the leaners but today it looks like the tap roots have found their stride and we can expect pretty aggressive growth if they follow suit. I’ve got them in 6” rockwool

The calm before the storm I hope! The stalk are building nicely and we have just a couple weeks before flower and I hope they explode soon.

Well I miscalculated the heck out of this grow. I wanted to grow these seeds so much I added a 3rd nft hydro tote to the back of the tent with two plants each and since my souls grows were so weak prior I didn’t anticipate the real power of the HLG and the stretch lol. So these plants are in the back now behind some monsters. One was topped and the other will be left as a Christmas tree. Left to their on Devices with no LST or any other form of training. They have great stalks and as a group are drinking more than 4 gallons a day of nutes. I guess this will price what letting a plant will do on their own.

Holy stretch Batman! DD#1 put on almost two feet and while I’m not super stoked about the node spacing right now I’m also not stressing about it. Like quite a few autos one stops short and creeps ahead in the bloom. That’s what #2 did. But she’s the Christmas tree type and the first that I’ve never left alone. I also know why I top them early usually or at least do some LST. These were behind their room mates and unreachable after week 3. I never expected them to be this tall so my expectations are met and exceeded thus far.

Reaching new heights and finished with the stretch these devils are the tallest autos I’ve grown. I thought my stardawg was going to hold that title for a while but a mere two weeks and these ladies passed that by 2”. The phenos are consistent which I like and both coming in right away and showing their deep purple. I cant wait until they really start to bulk up and get the tale of how this project is going to shape up.

There I was. Talking on another forum to what I consider to be a true aficionado and master green thumb. Explaining that I had a staggered set in my tent. He told me to ease into the beastie bloomz 0-50-30 with 1/8 tsp per gallon in my reservoir. Keep in mind I’m hydro NOT soil. The first watering I did so with these little ladies that are 46” tall. Somehow I was in a rush and not thinking clearly the second watering which was two days later and added a full tablespoon into 4 gallons and the plants were already being fed before I did the math in my head. Much to my surprise they BLEW UP. When I went back and test the PPM on my reservoir the following day it was at a staggering 3400ppm. I should have had zombies. I cleaned it and reset with 1500 ppm and have slowly been adding water and watching it creep again into higher numbers. 3 different strains and they are all stoked on these numbers. So you know what. I’m literally going to test the uncharted waters and see exactly how much they can take. Like I always so, don’t do what I do. Do what your plants tell you to do. Party on wayne!

The girls are starting to stack it on now and are very floral and fruity smelling. Still plenty of white pistils coming out making for a beautiful contrast to the very deep purple almost black flowers and a few of the fan leaves are starting to fade. Halfway down the home stretch and having high hopes for some baseball bats! I’m definitely putting the screws to them in the nutrient department at a touch over 2400 ppm with the addition of the beastie blooms -0-50-30 at 1/2 tablespoon per gallon along with the rest of the flora series. Not even a tip burnt so I continue to push the envelope. Thanks for looking.

What does a guy have to do to get grow diaries to put a great project up as recommended?! My question what is the highest you’ve ever had your PPM? Mine are at week 5 and getting their natural fade and no matter what I throw at them. Right now at 5000 ppm and strong with no burn.

pH pens are pretty easy to break and I'm 100% sure yours is broken - get a second one , calibrate both and see if the readings are different. That's why I'd rather buy 4 cheap pH pens with a few to spare rather than buy one expensive one that I'll break pretty quickly!

I’m doing this week a day early for everyone because I have to leave for work for a few days and I just got back from 3 days of being gone. This is the first and second time I’ve ever left them. Usually this late in the game I can get a little longer out of the reservoir though. I cleaned it when I got back and started fresh to get these ladies down the home stretch. One is obviously ahead of the other by about a week which is normal for me and she’s getting a fade and some foxtailing on two of the top sites which there isn’t much I can do since the lights are all the way raised up. I’m going to just cruise into the finish with moderate nutrients and bounce the ph from 6.4 until they drop to 5.6 so they get all the nutrient uptake. My calendar shows this as the beginning of week 6 compared to the diary but we’ll keep watching as the purple bleeds into the trichomes. Thanks for looking!

Week 10. Harvest

Happy Harvest Day!

Both are now done and I couldnt be any happier! I’ve updated the outcome and I rate this strain, grow and everything associated a 9.5/10! I want to be fair to myself and to everyone here. The wattage and weight calculations are pretty far off. There were 6 plants in total,3 different strains that All finished at a different time. Now that they are all done I would like to note that the total weight in a 4x4 tent under 520 true watts was 682g. That’s a number I can live with although I’m still striving to crest that mark. The trichomes as predicted took on a great purple and as I saw a few amber and mostly hazy it was time. It's a very floral and sweet smelling strain and the genetics are some the best I've seen. I gaiters the other one will be finished in 7-10 days and I'll get more data as the super sized rock hard flowers start to cure. I'm going to run it again right away and I don't think I could ever get tired looking at the intense dark purple and smell as it nearly hypnotizes you. I recommend everyone give this strain a shot! I'll have some tired numbers for you in a couple weeks.

@Buddha2, thank you! For whatever reason this grow isn’t hitting the algorithm for grow diaries and garnering much attention. It really is insane and possibly one of the largest single plant yields from a dark Devil. I’m super proud of what I achieved and equally stoked for sweet seeds and what they’ve accomplished. The fact that you can get 5 oz from a single plant in 11 weeks from start to finish ripe blows my mind.

Hey man if you mean about growdiaries highlight ghting your good work the best thing (that I've been using these days) is to get an Instagram account post your pics and vids then tag growdiaries in it as well as your seedbank or brand and they usually repost it on their story... Then sit back and watch your views go up 👊🏻

@CRiSPrGrow, that is exactly what I meant. Everything else is fine lol. Had to throw a legit question in there though.

ThatoneAKguycommented6 years ago
@samuraifroggig, thank you very much! I’ve been wanting these genetics for a long time and I’m glad I was able to get some and when I did I got enough to last me a while. Sweet seeds has some really reliable and stable genetics. While everyone is out trying to make new strains and you end up with 4 wildly different phenotypes I’m looking for predictability.

@thatoneAKguy How do you like that set up? I've been considering getting on, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
ThatoneAKguy
ThatoneAKguycommentedweek 16 years ago
I friggen LOVE it! If you look at my stardawg/ blackberry week one is about the build. I have never seen any results like it in my life. I opted not to use a slab under my 6” cubes and am just letting the roots find the water when I feed now 3 times per day. The ladies in there are 19 days old and are 16” across, 9” tall and the stalk is 1/2”. Literally a bigger stall in 19 days than any dirt auto at finish I’ve had. If you have any questions I’m here to help. Ps. Been thinking about doing something like heirloom tomatoes in one of these.

@DILLIGAF, thank you sir! I’ve sent several messages to them and notified them of an issue with the site another time and I’ve had one response. It’s tough when you are working hard to make the best there can be and it just gets shoved to the back so none can see your hard work.

@ThatoneAKguy,haha nice i did see what you did there, shot straight from the hip! 😂 ah i popped my six shooter in paper think they was the fasted seeds ive popped, 3 out of 3 too. Yeah that happened to me on the last run all 3 of my alien vs triangles didnt sprout and thats when i germinated my six shooters, they do say every cloud has a silver lining as the six shooter is one of my fave strains to date 👌🔥🔥
ThatoneAKguy
ThatoneAKguycommented6 years ago
@BuddingBudda, autos are a tricky little bean. This year I’m at about a 66% germination rate myself. I like to pop them where they will live their entire life but I didn’t want to play roulette with the six shooter so I went back to the paper towel method. See what I did there? 🤪 I went so far as to try 7 needing 5 just to make sure I don’t have any more goofed delays like I’ve been having. I’m all for a staggered program but it was out of hand this time.

@CRiSPrGrow, thanks Boss that means a lot. It is a super fun one to grow so much so that when one of my new strains didn’t germinate I added another one in the mix. Everything from the germination process to the consistency of the strain so far is impeccable. They are forgiving, strong and easy to grow. 8.5 of 10
