LovelyTerps Crush Kush was a strain I ordered on a whim, as the reviews on QCS' website all said the same thing - that Crush Kush smells exactly like grape/orange Crush soda, has big puffy trichome covered flowers, and massive swollen colorful colas in late flower. I've been looking for a nice Indica strain to cross with Freakshow for a while, as part of a long-term personal hobby breeding project, and so this was just a stress test grow to see how stable the strain is.

She was repotted today into a 5 gallon grow bag, and that will serve as her home for the rest of the grow.
The soil in the bottom half is pro-mix all purpose, and the soil in the top half is a mixture of coco coir, perlite, biochar, worm castings, blood meal, bone meal, Epsom salts, and a small amount of Greenleaf Cal-Mag.

She has acclimated to her new fabric pot and is expanding her roots quickly. She is looking healthy and content for the moment. Lighting was flipped to 12/12 and in the next week or two she should be showing pre-flowers.

She was topped last week, and yesterday all her fan leaves were removed to begin the training process. One of the shoots is taking off fast, but that's just how it goes sometimes. Her stem is getting very thick already. At only 28 days old, she may end up being a real weight-lifter.
The lighting in the tent was flipped to 12-12 on June 1st, but she probably won't be showing any changes until next update.

She's just starting to go into flower, with some very early pre-flower pistils appearing. They are definitely very Indica looking, no surprise there.
To really see how big the colas can get, I've decided to trim her back to just 4 main tops and get rid of any larf or small branches. I'm not going for yields here.
I expect by next week that she will be stretching and branching and throwing out pistils everywhere, and then she'll be off to the races.

She is now stretching, and should continue to do so for the next couple of weeks. Humidity has been dropped down to a 50% RH target, and temperature target in the 65-75F range to keep her happy as she progresses into flower.

I did some heavy defoliation on the weekend, mostly getting rid of the large fan leaves. I will trim off all the larf and lower branches as they're not going to yield more than a few grams by the looks of things, and they'll just take energy away from the colas.
She's stretching and budding and pushing out new nodes and fan leaves all at the same time as she reaches for the light. I anticipate the stretch should be finished by this weekend, but the colas themselves will likely keep pushing upwards as they fatten up.
Her smell is being completely overpowered by the blueberry beside her, but a stem/leaf rub near the top is faintly giving off that classic orange crush/orange popsicle aroma that other reviewers described.

The stretch is done and she has finished her first week of mid-flower. Her smell is getting stronger, still developing but it's present in the tent now. Her soil was flushed yesterday and her reservoir cleaned out as she is definitely not lacking in nitrogen, and from here on out the only nitrogen she'll have is whatever is left in the soil and her leaves, as well as the small amount in the Cal-Mag being fed to her.
Last week she underwent her final round of high stress, having all her lower vegetation and branches removed. There's been no sign of any herming, stunting, shock, or negative reactions throughout the weeks of daily chopping, topping and contortion. With only 4 colas and no branches, she is free to pile all of her energy into them. The trichome density on the flowers is very nice, and her canopy is almost perfectly flat and gathering in lots of energy. From here on out it should be a stress-free ride for her.

She's completed 2+ weeks of bulking up and her colas are expanding fast in all directions.
Over the past week or so I've noticed that the sugar leaves are getting some purple trichomes on them, as well as some of the flowers. It's just one more thing that makes this strain intriguing.

She finished bulking up nearly a week ago, and the flowers have been swelling up very nicely ever since. Colas have been ballooning as a result, and should continue swelling. The flowers at the top have turned a very light shade of purple, along with many of the trichomes. Sugar leaves and buds are also getting sticky fast.
I've been periodically piping cold outside air into the bottom of the tent to hopefully help bring out some more colours, and to offset the heat from the lights and dehumidifier.

The colas kept ballooning over the past week as the swelling moves down the stack, getting big enough that I was forced to heavily defoliate between them to stop any moisture traps. I don't think they're going to get much bigger now, as the flower trichomes are clouding up quickly and everything is getting caked in resin. The flowers smell exactly like grape crush with a faint whiff of skunk.
Nutrients are being tapered off week by week so she can vacuum up whatever excess is still in the soil. I don't have a date set yet for when I switch her to plain water, it will be dependent on trichomes. I've spotted a few amber trichomes on the flowers, so we're in the home stretch.

She's progressing rapidly. This could be the last update before harvest. She's getting plain water plus some "Snake Oil" to help deal with excess mobile nutrients.
The trichomes on the top flowers are very dense and mostly cloudy with more amber hues appearing every day. I'm keeping temps low, averaging 73F in the day and 68F at night, with temporary dips reaching 60F at night before the dehumidifier cycles back on.
Her smell is minimal thanks to the lower temps, but touching the leaves or flowers makes the air smell like someone cracked open a can of grape soda.
Strong old-school genetics in this one. Great big flowers. Smells exactly like Grape Soda. One could easily confuse it for a Purple Urkel Pheno. She Handles intense lighting without issues in flower, and she's good with minimal nitrogen in flower. Very stress tolerant in terms of temperature and training techniques. I absolutely love this strain and I highly recommend it. It's worth mentioning that you may need to chill her during mid-late flower to really get those purples showing. This definitely won't be the last time I grow this strain, the taste/aroma and effects are top shelf quality.

LovelyTerps Harvest time is here. Trichomes on the flowers are mostly cloudy with about 10-15% amber on the colas. The flowers are a beautiful shade of purple, very eye-catching.
While the yields are low, that was by design. I wanted to stress her and also limit the number of Colas to see how big they can get. She didn't herm once, despite me constantly and aggressively pruning and defoliating like a butcher.
Flower time from first pistils spotted was 57 days.
Flower time from flip was ~67 days.
Breeder recommended flower time 50-60 days.
Post dry and trim she still smells nice. Not as sweet, but still very grapey. The taste is very much like a wine-tipped cigar, and the effects are very calm and relaxing, clear-headed but body heavy. Good pain relief. Easy to find humour in everything. The yields were pretty much what I expected for only leaving 4 tops and lollipopping literally everything else. Overall a winner with no real drawbacks.
