Kitties_and_Colas Outdoor guerrilla grow, week one. I have 5 Critical Purple, 4 Gorilla Glue Auto and 1 Great White Shark (photo period,feminized) all from Grower's Choice. For this journal Iv'e selected 2 of the Critical Purple's. This is a new vendor and strain for me. My medium is a super light (and cheap) mix, made with 1/3 peat, 1/3 perlite and 1/3 organic compost This will be my first time growing an autoflowering strain (I do have experience with photos /clones)so any input would be *GREATLY* appreciated!! :)

Kitties_and_Colas First week of training, lots of stretching in competition for sun with the field grass. Started feeding GrowBig and Bloom (FoxFarms) at just under 1/2 strength.
This is my very first autoflower grow so i'm not entirely sure what to expect.... My question is whether or not autos do a flowering stretch like photoperiods or does growth begin to slow at pre-flower?
They do everything a photoperiod does, but faster. How? Think of it like this: a photo strain that does 4 week of veg (18 hours light schedule) and 8 week of flower (12 hours if light schedule) will have a total of 4*7*18 + 8*7*12 = 504 + 672 = 1.176 hours of light to power it's whole growth and bloom. Now an auto strain doing 20/4 light schedule will get, during a 8 week grow cycle: 8*7*20 = 1.120 hours of light. Roughly the same amount of light to power its growth, but 4 weeks faster. Usually the seedling / veg stage of autos lasts 3 weeks, then you get 2 weeks of stretch and 3 to 4 weeks of bloom stage. Depending on how much light the are getting they can take a few more weeks.
Kitties_and_Colas Battling leaf-hoppers with a few of my G.G's but all 5 of the Critical Purple were mostly spared....I treated all plants with insecticidal soap anyway to be safe

Kitties_and_Colas My PH meter is broken so i'm at the mercy of PH paper for now and I think one gallon was way too hot at the end of last week. 2 of my critical purple became yellow bottom up (first pic) and super deep green so I ran a few gallons of water thru the 2 plants, i was just really paranoid...They seem to bounce back really fast, thanks for the comments/suggestions guys :).
*The plant on the far left in the photo of 4 is GC Great White Shark feminized the rest Critical Purple.
The drooping is all me, i should have watered sooner because we've had some extremely hot days this week but this yellowing has me concerned...Does this look like PH, nutrient issue, or just how auto's react under watering? I'm flushing atm, any suggestions?
If you've just gave the plant a good watering then I wouldn't be too worried but lesson learned and you'll be ready next time around. Its very noticeable that your plants under went heat stress simply be seeing the curl on your leaves. If its announcing to be a hot day make sure to water in the morning and then simply make sure your soil is moist throughout the night and repeat as necessary.
Kitties_and_Colas Day 62 still just the smallest tells of preflower, no actual bud development with the critical purples yet, they're actually on track with my photo period plants :/ ...this is really puzzling ...My GG went in a week later than the CP and is starting to stack up nicely...

Kitties_and_Colas Not sure what's up with the 2 plants I decided to do this journal with. As my luck would go they are 2 of 3 critical purples that absolutely refuse to flower..Here is a side by side picture of what i mean. I have 5 of this strain and x3 are acting like any other photo I've grown. I took the liberty of super-cropping the 3 I mentioned, however my Gorilla Glue/GWS and x2 of the CP all seem on track and starting to stack up :)
*DAY 64 - Deer or rabbits.... after my initial panic I discovered that they weren't hurt too badly

Kitties_and_Colas Day 72 and still no sign of flower on x3 of the Critical Purple...My photo period plants are ahead of these "autos"....ugh
**I put the week back to "veg" because while all other plants are flowering/finishing the CP i selected for this journal aren't. I reached out to Grower's Choice about 3/5ths of this "auto" strain turning out to be photos and they gave me the ruderalis speech. -_- this was a new vendor for me this year, i may have to shop around next season...

Kitties_and_Colas 84 days from seed and the Critical Purple is still vegging. She should flip any day now but on track with regular photo period plants In my region...x2 of the CP are filling up nicely. I harvested one of my GG autos last week and my GWS doesn't have very long either :)

Kitties_and_Colas The Critical Purple are about as tall as me at this point and buds are stacking up very quickly,.. had i known these plants would take so long to flower i definitely would have opted for a larger pot size, but these things happen i guess ....I pulled a GWS, a finished CP and another GG auto this weeks as well :)

Kitties_and_Colas The CP are becoming pretty top heavy and i find myself picking 1-2 from the ground each visit, I waited the containers with stones to see if this would help. The 3 remaining CP stand as tall as me in their containers (6ft) and are 107 days from seed, i'm expecting a pretty decent yield from them in October :)
Kitties_and_Colas Chopped down the last Gorilla Glue today...that leave 3 Critical Purple left in the field...

Kitties_and_Colas The wind had been pretty violent over the weekend so i came out today for some damage control, It was messy but could have been worse ..we're also expecting 2 consecutive nights of 36f temperatures this week and i'd REALLY hate to pull them with anything less than 8 weeks of flower...i'll be checking them a little more closely now and hopefully i t doesn't get as cold as predicted...
Kitties_and_Colas My remaining plants were taken down 10 days ago and allowed to dry @65F /60-65%RH for 8 days before jarring. They prob could have made it another week outside but i didn't want to chance the cold. The dry weight was just over 5oz for the 2 plants pictured, 4 oz of bud and another Oz of popcorn. This strain is GREAT for sleep but can be a real daytime motivation killer.
Thanks Swagy!! That was an awesome summer! Not so much for hubby, I made him port all the water out to them that year lol 😸.. we weren't legal then and our spot was rough to get to..
