PapaTerps Shake Back - Compound Genetics
SUMMER is upon us and grows that were started around March have been harvested - so that means I have an empty tent or two! So I've decided to start another grow for this Summer and into Autumn.
I've selected the strain Shake Back by Compound Genetics for this grow, I've chosen her for her Apples & Banana's genetics and her intriguing Apple and Diesel flavours! She has a lot of cookies genetics, so I'm also interested to see if some of that comes out! I will be vegging her for about 5 weeks and I will be using a mixture of growing techniques which I have used before, including topping with some low stress training. You're all more than welcome to follow along, I will try to detail my process without overloading each week with too much Information!
Day 1 (20/06)
- Seed dropped into a small metal screw tin filled with RO Tap water pH'd to 6.3 and stored in a dark warm room - she will remain here until the seed pops and a taproot appears; I will check the progress of the seed every ~12 hours.
Day 4
- The seed popped and a taproot has appeared, so I've filled a small 0.3L paper starter pot with some All-Mix and dropped the seed in!
Day 6
- The seedling has already appeared from the soil, with her two starter leaves already searching for light.
Day 11
- Nice growth over the last couple of days, she's now working on her second set of leaves, so I will consider her "in veg" once she's at that point ππ»

πΏ Watered every three days with 0.5L of RO water, with nutrients mixed individually and in order, finally I ph'd the solution to 6.3. I have upped some of her nutrients as she will need it during this phase ππ»
βοΈ I've removed two of her top most fan leaves to improve light penetration to the lower nodes, this will encourage lower stem growth.
π± Week 2 of Veg, and shes working on stretching, strengthening her main stem as well as producing lower side stems πͺπ»

Day 17
πΏ Watered every three days with 0.5L of RO water, with nutrients mixed individually and in order, finally I ph'd the solution to 6.3. I have upped her Root Juice nutrients to boost her root development and as of next week, I will be replacing the fish mix with the BioGrow ππ»
βοΈ I've removed a couple of her fan leaves to improve airflow and light penetration, and I've topped her main stem to allow the lower stems to grow up and form a consistent canopy πͺπ»
π± Week 3 of Veg, she recovered from her topping and has started to grow out her lower stems and supporting fan leaves! I wont be topping her more than this, so I will rely on my training skills now to get the most out of her in this 5L pot, but she already has a nice stretch on her lower stems, so this one should be easy going ππ»

Day 29
πΏ Watered every three days with 1L of RO water, with nutrients mixed individually and in order, finally I ph'd the solution to 6.3. I have upped her water volume to 1L to keep up with needs, but no change to her nutrients ππ»
βοΈ I've removed a couple of her fan leaves to improve airflow and light penetration and I've lollipopped her lowest most budsites. We're a couple of weeks out from the 12/12 switch, so from now on I'll just be letting her grow, only removing leaves when necessary.
π± Week 4&5 of Veg, she has been growing really well, stretching upwards and developing her bud sites! Last week I moved her into a new 5x5 along with all the other plants in grow, she'll have more space to grow here as well as a more powerful light ππ»

Day 38
πΏ Watered every four days with 1.5L of RO water, with nutrients mixed individually and in order, finally I ph'd the solution to 6.3. I've started to remove the Root juice from her feeding. As she approaches bloom, I will begin to remove certain nutrients and add others ππ»
βοΈ This week I've added a couple of training clips to even out her canopy and I've also lollipopped her to improve airflow and to encourage her to grow up, but other than that, she's just growing!
π± Week 5-6 of Veg, she has absolutely shot up this week nearly doubling her height, so I've moved her into the corner of the tent to slow her down a bit! She's only in a 5L pot, so she'll need more feedings than if she was in a larger pot.
She started showing signs of maturity last week, but now she has pistils protruding from all her bud sites, so she is ready for the 12/12 switch. From the end of this week, we will start to gradually reduce the light schedule to go towards the 12 hour scheduleπͺπΌ
