Okay had to start 2 purple strains one of them being LSD-25 and the other Blackberry in the second journal. I still have 2 open air pots filled to the brim with fox farm ocean forest, froggy frog, and coco choir in approximately a 2:1:1 ratio. I'm still anticipating the unreleased strains from fastbuds fingers crossed. I placed both these girls taproot down right before the Eclipse.
Day 1 above ground: August 23rd.
I like to stretch them early to allow for more room for watering since I like to bush them out. Stretching them early allows for a long strong stem and hopefully sets the precedent for future growth rate. Stretched them out s littlllllle too much haha forgot my light was in 50%. No harm no fail. I'll take better pics when they take off.
She's looking good so far. She literally looks like the palm tree emoji 🌴. I started a light feed early in the week and they've taken well to it. There stems have thickened (appositional growth) well enough to stand on their own with the incorporation of an oscillating fan. I'm going to try to incorporate some Real Growers Recharge on Thursday to advance the microbiology of the soil. Food for her soul.
She's got a little bit of unstable genetics rn as you've can see in her leaf production but I lover just as much haha and hopin for a beautiful end product.
She's not the sexiest of girls haha with her mutanty genetics, but she is growing very well. She's just a tad behind the Blackberry. The temps are starting to drop here so im hoping both LSD/ Blackberry will be purple under the influence of epigenetics.
I wasn't sure about the LSD plant size since her maturity is a few days to a week phenotypically ahead of the Blackberry born on the same day. She's still showing signs of instability in her leaf structure but everything else looks well. She doubled in size this week to 15 inches so I began LSTing (9/16) her to maximize yield making her about 13 inches total now. I gave both the LSD and Blackberry a tad of Tiger Bloom to ease them into pre-flower. My goal is to get night temps close to 65 to increase the potentiality of purples.
Wow this girl literally grew 16 inches this week. Haha I almost need her to stop growing, which is funny because I was concerned she was going to be small in the past. She's going to be purple though for sure. Her preflower buds have come in dark purple, she'll be beautiful. She's starting to exude a berry smell when you rub her stems.
This girl is so nice I bent her over twice...I can barely keep her under the lamp. Side branches on side branches looking like a bushy mutant sativa version of herself. She smells so much like berries and it's only week 6. I can't keep my nose out of her. She has a beautiful dark purple with an indigo sheen. I can tell her buds will only get prettier and tastier once she's curing.
She got the full photo shoot today looking stunning. Her berry aroma really fills up the room. She smells of a sweet earthy berry juice. Her colors speak for themselves. I cannot believe how many budsites this girl has too. Little bit of instability in the leaf structure but the buds are looking like flames. Purple flames.
The LSD is purple, Crystal Meth is red, and the Blackberry is pink. She's still packing on weight with white pistil production so I'm postponing her flush for another 1 to 2 days and then she'll probably finish in 2 weeks depending on her tricks. The temperatures are dropping too so hopefully she'll be looking like autumn in no time. She smells of sweet juicy berries, I honestly wish I could bite into her.
I'm gonna take pictures next Sunday 10/22 but won't be able to upload until 10/25
On the home stretch of the flush. The berry smell is unrealistic. It smells like a fruity perfume in my room. I could hold this plant under a non-weed smokers nose and they'd have no idea. She's gettin her lean on too, a heavy girl.
Harvest Day 70 after a 2 week flush Finished in 48 hour darkness. I don't think the darkness increases production of THC/ trichomes but I do like the idea of letting the plant burn all of its sugars prior to harvest. Sugar is harsh when it burns so we'll have to check back on the smoke report when it's ready. This girl really exploded and never looked back. Just packed on the bud sites, she was really starting to get her lean on 💃🏽
She was a pleasure to cut. Beautiful trim. So far pure berries and gas. I'll update on the smoke report once she's cured. I had a mini toke sesh earlier and it was definitely LSD. Definitely turning on some different visual/auditory receptors. It was nice and long and happy. She's only going to continue to get better. The buds are kind of fluffy but I find that all the purples I've grown turn out like that. The greens tend to produce much more weight/density. I'm not one to harp on density. I'm more about the flavor/effect.
Does anybody have any tips/tricks for getting stubborn seeds to pop open during soak. I usually only do a 24-48 hour soak with 24 hour damp paper towel method. If that doesn't work, I usually assume it's a dud, but I'm willing to try anything to get them to go before tossing them. Right now I'm having trouble getting my Mexican Airlines to take. 48 hour soak and no signs of life yet. She's in a paper towel now with tap water presoaked with catalpa leaves. Any feedback/ ideas welcome! Happy growing.
@Leeyum,I would definitely suggest planting it anyway weight from 5 to 7 days if nothing happens by then definitely she's done it but don't give up yet😉
