Day 1: Seeds have been germinated, prepare for liftoff you are about to get Purple Punched! Day 2: Waiting for them to pop open! Day 3: They have all pop open just waiting for the cotyledons to all open! One of them is growing way faster than the others! Day 4: All of them have open up and showed roots at the bottom of the cube. Transferred them over to their new homes which will be red cups. Trying to let the roots form in smaller mediums for a better growth. Our end size will be 3-gallon pots fabric pots or 5? End of the week recap: Currently having my T5 lighting fixture at 5in, plants are growing super fast. notice a little browning on tips, does anyone know what that can mean?

hey there, when using dry nutrients to amend your soil always make sure the plant can handle it. Usually for dry nutes the nutrient company assumes the plant is beyond seedling stage. That's because at the seedling stage the plant can't handle much through it's under developped root system. That's actually why you got nutrient burn . Careful watering until run off, run off means you're loosing nutrients, and if you're a pre amended (like me), you actually dont want any run off. So the problem has stopped spreading, next time do a transplant and you'll avoid this situation as well as accelerate the growth. Hope this helps ! 🚀

They currently have small nut burn due to the dry amendments but still growing fast under the T5 Fluorescent. Started watering in the solo cups slowly then proceeded to water to a little of runoff. Will allow them to grow for another week or two before transplanting into their teen container of 1.5g. End of the Week Recap: Plants are growing fast as hell, ran into some fungus gnats. Spraying the medium to kill the larvae every day till i do not see them! Other then that they are looking beautifully symmetrical

Transferred to 1-gallon fabric containers, diatomaceous earth to put on top of the medium and leaves to combat some fungus gnats. They are growing fast, going to top them soon to start the mainlining. End of the Week recap: New growth is looking great, one of them is growing a little bit faster than the rest so I gave it an early top. I’m debating if I want to mainline one of them or just see how they grow with topping and LST. I can already smell the sweetness to them, added new photos

Stems are shedding! Woah! Never seen that before. Gave them a weak compost tea at the beginning of the week, and top the 2nd plant. Will be transferring them to 3-gallon pots soon. They are starting to show their roots at the bottom of the 1-gallon pot. Move them to a LED light since they r getting pretty wide. Update 1: The one shooting down bounce back up! They just needed more cal mag since my water is carbon and sediment filter. Loving how these are growing will upload more photos by the end of the week again! Thanks for everyone who is helping me on my first grows!

My last photo shows one of my punch drooping, I believe it's due to overwatering. I thought you couldn't really over water in coco, is it because the roots aren't receiving enough oxygen?

If your coco is wet at the same time of you asking this question then yes. The fibres do help with porosity of the medium but it still retains moisture and therefore you are not immune to overwatering. It's for this very reason many grower using coco also add perlite.

Transferred to 3-gallon fabric pots which will be their final containers (I think?). I made a super organic coco mix containing Root Organic Uprising Grow, Foundation, Neem Seed Meal from Down to Earth, Vermicompost and some perlite. I am going to try mainlining one of them! The middle one which is growing the fastest has taken up a star shape and also just realize I FIM it earlier.

Currently on cruise control with these Purple Punch, doing a little bit of training to fill out the space better! They are growing quite fast, they are liking their new preamended coco home. Vegging for 2-3 more weeks till we flip to flowering! They are smelling like the powdered kool aid. Though these will taste better then the powdered kool aid, don’t know how i like that as a kid! Too much sugar for me now, but let’s see the SUGAR on these buds! End of the Week update: Got some booming growth and some spider mites... spraying with neem oil every 3 days. Moved middle F2 to a open spot in the tent so it can grow out more, they all started to cram up in the 3x1. Giving them their last veg ACT before flipping to flower! Which includes neem seed meal, bat guano, worm poop, uprising grow

Did some defoliation on all the plants, put DE on the leaves to combat spider mites and fungus gnats (so evil). Leaves are thickening a bit more, and a little bit of stretch.

The Pistols are growing very well, still combating spider mites but recovering well. It’s starting to smell like fruit punch. Giving a seabird guano compost tea soon for those fatter nugs. Using PowerSi silica Granular and Bloom.

Starting to stink! The smell has gotta noticeability stronger. Smelling like some Hawaiian Punch, just put a AC in the room where the tent is located. Hopefully that helps the plants the next coming weeks till harvest, was starting to reach 90.

Smells are getting progressively stronger, smelling like tropical punch still. Showing signs of purple, possible with the dropping temperature at night with the AC. They are cover with trichomes and looking lovely!

This is one of my first grows I did, the nugs look beautiful with hints of purple and lighter green. We saw a lot of orange pistols at first but that might of also happen since we overfed some nut. One plant had the smell of some Mexican candy! we will be using all this material to make bubble hash(tips appreciated!). Thank you for following And we will continue to post pictures of our hash and frozen weight. This has been an amazing experience and we appreciate all the help this community has given us!

Hey man, looking great! Quick question tho, how tall are your girls getting, and how big is your tent? I'm growing purple Punch right now and I'm curious if I should let her go all naturally or top. What are you thoughts?
BookiesandBream
BookiesandBreamcommented5 years ago
@Wandering_Sage666, 25inches is my tallest plant, she was trained a little less then the rest of them. They didn't seem to grow that much in flowering... They had a huge growth spurt right when they were pre-flowering.

@TheDoctor, Kept them right under a T5 for the first weeks of their lifes as well, following your purple punch grow as well , good luck! 😀

Hi @BookiesandBream! Too much Nitrogen led to this situation. Take it easy with nutrients, such young seedlings don't need high doses of Nitrogen before week ~3. In this situation I would flush the medium with a very light solution, maybe 2ml/L, and see how it goes after a few days. For the first weeks of a plant, less is more, it's way easier to fix a slight deficiency than to recover from a slight toxicity. Hope this will help, keep us updated and happy growing! 👊

@Wandering_Sage666, I’ll give you the exact measurements soon, I’ve lost my measuring tape it seems to be. Though after training them, they stay under 3ft.
