Isserley Day 7: After consulting other growers over at discord I decided to keep only one of the two plants. The issue is the rather small tent in combintaion with an equatorial landrace cross that is supposed to stretch 2-3 times in transition stage. I also think about a longer veg phase than the recommended 15 days. For the moment I'm keeping both seedlings though just in case something goes wrong with one of them.
I gave them their first sip of water (pH7.0) today and raised the light a few clicks to stay at 180ppfd .
Soon I'm going to remove the dome and put a humidfier in the tent to achieve a relative humidity of about 80% for early veg stage.

Day 1: Welcome to my new grow project. This time I'm gonna go with two photoperiodic Malawi x Panama by Ace Seeds. They are pure Sativas and I can't wait to grow and enjoy them. Ace Seeds recommends flipping to flower just 15(!) days after dropping the seed in soil. I usually wait till week 6 or 7 to flip them, but I will stick with the recommendation this time. Maybe they stretch a lot, we'll see. I also don't have much space in my little tent, so I don't mind if they stay on the smaller side as long as each of them fills up her half of the tent.
I let two seeds soak in a solution of 1 tablespoon hydrogen peroxide and 250ml (1 cup) of tap water for about 14 hours to kill possible pathogens and soften the outer layer of the seed. Then I planted each seed in a germination pot filled with seedling soil that I pre moistened with tap water I pHed down to 6.6 with ascorbic acid (aka vitamin c powder). For the first week or so the babies will be in a germinatin tray+dome under led light with a strenght of 140ppfd.

Isserley Day 11: I had to up-pot today because I won't be home for the next couple of days. If I had left them in their little germination pots they would have dried out before my return.
The first plant now sits in a 28l (7gal) fabric pot and enjoys her solitude in the grow tent. As always I premoistend the soil mix (2/3 Biobizz Light Mix, 1/3 worm castings, 220g of Bionova/Zamnesia Monster Bud Mix Living Soil) before up-potting. I'll try to keep the relative humidity at around 80% at this stage by hanging a wet towel inside the tent with a humidifier as backup. Daytime Temperature still reaches 30C (86F) due to an ongoing heatwave, but having an equatorial land race in the tent I figure it shouldn't be a problem for her.
I couldn't find it in my heart to dispose of the second girl. So I moved her to an 11l pot and put her outdoors next to my tomatoes. I doubt that she'll be able to finish before it gets too cold due to her long flowering time but I can always get rid of her later. Who knows, maybe she'll go into flower soon and yield a few grams. I'll post pics of her from time to time though just for the fun of it.
So from now on all the details in this diary will refer to the indoor plant only.

Day 10: I removed the dome of the germination tray yesterday and raised the relative humidity in the tent to around 80%. Turns out I didn't have to use the humidifier by putting a wet towel in the tent instead. This method is simple and saves electrical energy. I gave them a little sip of tap water which I forgot to pH down, so it was a little high but that shouldn't be a problem. I also increased the light intensity slightly.

Isserley Day 15: Today is the day on which - according to Ace Seeds - I am supposed to flip my girl into flower. As you can see for yourselves, she hasn't even reached vegetation phase yet, so I'm gonna call the 15 days bullshit and give my girl at least two more weeks before changing the light cycle to 12/12. As expected I didn't have to water her after uppotting into premoistened soil four days ago and I think I won't have to for at least another week.
The backup plant which I've put outdoors in an 11 liter pot is doing fine as well, but she's fallen a little behind in growth speed compared to her indoor sister which is no surprise since I can't control the environment outdoors.

Isserley Day 21: The indoor plant grows quite quickly, so I decided to start training her already. First I bent the main stem 90° and then I pinched/topped the main stem and the two lower side branches. Her sister outdoors is falling more and more behind in growth, but seems to be in good health. No watering necessary.

Day 18: Yesterday was day 1 of vegetation stage. Both plants got their first five finger leaves. The indoor plant is already growing side branches and is definitely faster than her outdoor sister. I raised light intensity to 320ppfd. Indoor no watering necessary yet.
