Luckydope69 In this diary, I'm testing the Urban Chilibox, kindly provided by the company Urban Chili from Austria. I want to thank them and I'm excited to see what I can create with the box, using Dinamed CBD Plus fem. seeds grown in soil fertilized with BioBizz.

Luckydope69 This will probably be my last week of Veg. since I can't grow very big plants due to lack of space in the closet.

Luckydope69 I've decided to add another week of veg because I find the growth behavior a bit sluggish. I attribute the stunted growth to the pots, which are made of plastic and hardly allow any air through, so the root system can't develop properly. This situation obviously has a negative impact on overall development. To avoid this, one should alternatively use bags that are breathable and promote oxygen supply to the soil. Additionally, I've noticed very minimal signs of magnesium deficiency, which I've already started to combat with Epsom salt added to the watering. Otherwise, the four plants look good and healthy to me.

Luckydope69 I’ve now added another week of Veg since I haven’t fully tapped into what’s possible with a height of 20cm yet. I also topped three plants and supercropped one to boost the growth a bit; let’s see how they handle it, it’s the first time I’m working with this strain.

Luckydope69 I've now initiated the flowering stage, as there hasn't been much growth in size, so I'm counting on the stretch. Unfortunately, I had an accident last week, and the topped plant has become a bit shorter.

Luckydope69 The fourth week is here, and the buds are growing more and more each day. I expect to see the first trichomes by the end of the week. One of the branches will be pollinated this week to make a few seeds; I'm getting a father from a good strain.

Luckydope69 I have now reached week 6 of flowering and I have to say a lot has come to light. In this run, I have represented two genetic variations; on one hand, I have a plant that doesn't form a single trichome, and on the other hand, I have a plant with a mutant bud. I have chosen the most stable and best plant in this run to get seeds from; I used a brush to pollinate a bud so I can continue to enjoy the strain, or rather the new strain since I didn't pollinate it with its own kind.

Luckydope69 The seventh week of flowering is doing what it needs to do, the buds are filling out nicely and becoming more compact, and the aroma is slowly coming into its own. At the pollinated spots, seeds are forming as expected, which will then result in a new pretty cross.

Luckydope69 Right now, there's not much to say, I'm eagerly waiting for the end of this run. They aren't ripe yet, the trichomes are mostly still clear, only a few are slowly turning milky. I guess it will take another two to even three weeks until they are ripe.

Luckydope69 Now the second to last flowering week is approaching, the trichomes have slowly but surely taken on a milky color. I'm waiting until they turn amber, around 20-30% amber is when I'll harvest.

Luckydope69 Well, this week will most likely be the last one since the trichome appearance is already in the milky stage. I'm just waiting a bit longer until it starts to turn amber, then I'll harvest.

Luckydope69 Based on the trichome development, I've decided to wait another week. My goal is to harvest only when I see 25% amber trichomes.

Luckydope69 In this grow, my main goal was to do a test run in Urban Chili. For me, it was a different experience working in a small, ready-made setup; I initially had some trouble since I usually deal with larger areas, but I quickly got the hang of it. For this run, I chose Dinamed CBD Plus because, on one hand, I had read a lot of good things about the strain beforehand, and on the other hand, I wanted to grow a CBD from seed. In both the box and the strain, I was definitely very positively surprised.
Hey Man, nice grow.... I have a question. Do you think it´s possible to add more lights in the box. For example the G-tools 100 W Led. Actually should be possible... Maybe you have a tipp? Thx
@JDude, i think its possible but you must made a couple of hooks in the roof and hang an other in. the hole from the standart lamp you can switch in to an other airflow whit an pice activcarbonmat and an big pc fan.
@Luckydope69, Thanks for your reply. Yes, with hooks. In addition to the standard lamp I would place 3 x Sanlight 30W inside, on three sites, but not on the door. One could be below the fan. Just don´t know if those Sanlights are perfect for such plan or if there is any better light solution. Maybe using 2x Mirage 60W. I hope you have some tipps regarding this too. And... the smell... so far so good? no odor? Do you think those filters you can make selfmade too when buying the materials. Because every grow € 64 for filter replacement is a bit costy. Thx!
@JDude, you can try it whit led stripes on the side. yes i think you can made self its exist activcarbon pads you can try to take this from a simpel kitchen filter over the cookfields. you finde it on a hardwarestore for building stuff at the kitchenfloor. its my first run in this box thats all future problems for me XD. but light you can lokk for quantum boards, zeus boards or stripes whit a little diy you save lot of money.
@Luckydope69, Yes man, was reading about stripes... I´m not very technical... xD That´s why I thought about Sanlights or the Mirage 60W. but now after reading more about growing in small cabinets other questions regarding mold coming up. Now I don´t know if it´s worth buying the urban chili + extra lights 30W or even 2x 60W and later it´s molding inside, because the plants are generating more humidity. And what about the area on top where the ventilators and standard lights are installed, maybe it´s getting too wet there as well..? thanks for your help
@JDude, yes i have at flower a biger huminity and the standart fans not enough i must open the door or some thing to let fresh air in. the last what i want its molding buds. I think at the end of this run i can give you all infos about this box at the moment i must let me surprise and step by step i see whats going in this smal thing. we have an other grower at growdiaries that test this box she is runing a couple weeks more than i. maybe she can tell you a little mor about this box shes called @Mrs_Larimar. i hope you find all informations that you need to take a choice.
@Luckydope69, correct, opening the door several times a day is a must, of course. I saw the grow from @Mrs_Larimar and it doesn´t look very promissing to me. well, I hope you both can end your grow without mold. I keep following. Thx!
@Mrs_Larimar, :) well, it´s the size of the buds. What I mean is after 13 weeks it could be better. That´s why I came up with the idea of adding more LEDs in there. I´m not just concered about the plants, also the wooden cabinet. Probably I won´t go with the Urbanchili. I guess the bigger version of the Hazelbox is a better choice and hope it´s not too loud... I wish you both nice and tasty urban chili buds :)
@JDude,i dont want to discuss, but if you do kinda microgrowing ( 5l pots) you wont have to expect biiiig buds. you get a lot of small ones. If you go with a 20 l pot your plant is bigger, and the buds too. But that has nothing to say about quality of the growbox. If i go in the Urban chilli with bigger pots, my buds are bigger too. Iam growing hre in the Urban kinda" bonsai weed" . But it looks like, smells and tasts alredy like very good weed. In Germany they say " größe ist nicht alles" I think you understand it without translation.
@Mrs_Larimar, Where I´m located doesn´t matter xD I was reading some stuff about the Hazelbox, if you can tell me something about the noise or smell, that would be cool. Or what´s recommended to get the noise reduced. Your Hazelbox grow... that looks really promissing ;)
@JDude, I can absolutely recommend Sanlight. If you want to get an impression, just check out my diary. I researched for more than three weeks in order to find the perfect light and I'm so happy with the outcome! But meanwhile more and more high quality lights are hitting the market, so there might be a less expensive alternative available.
