Hi Growmies,
Welcome to my first grow diary.
For this run, I decided to go with a classic strain rather than a modern hybrid.
4x Hindu Kush fem. from @SensiSeeds
Sensi Seeds offers Hindu Kush in feminized, autoflowering, and regular seed varieties.
Hindu Kush has been part of the @SensiSeeds gene pool since the 1980s. Over the years, the original genetics have been carefully selected and preserved through many generations, without adding genetics from other strains. This has helped create a very stable and consistent line, which @SensiSeeds officially released as Hindu Kush in 1991. ๐๐ผ
In this grow report, I will document everything in detail: EC levels, climate, training, growth, etc.
The plan is to have a 6-week vegetative period, which Iโll use to top the plants and train them with LST.

ndsgrow After 48 hours, the paper towel method gave me four nicely developed seedlings. I planted them into @Plagron Light Mix in 0.75 L pots and gave them a light watering with pH-adjusted water.
About 24 hours later, all four had emerged. They also managed to shed their seed shells by themselves, so no help was needed.
The first set of true leaves is now fully developed, so Iโm starting to count the veg days from this point.
For now, Iโm watering mainly around the stem to encourage the roots to spread out. Iโm also adding @Plagron Power Roots to support early root development.
Looking at the pictures chronologically, the growth during the first week is already noticeable. The plants are healthy and starting to push out their second set of true leaves. ๐ฑ

ndsgrow Week 2 of veg is underway, and the plants are really starting to develop. ๐ฑ
This week, I increased the PPFD to around 280 - 300
Watering remains the same: Iโm applying water mainly around the outer edge of the pots to encourage the roots to spread and search for moisture. The amount of water is determined by feel and experience.
pH 6.0 + @Plagron Power Roots.
By Veg Day 8, another set of leaves was developing nicely. On Veg Day 10, I spread the plants out a little as they were starting to need more space.
Iโm also using the small saucers underneath the smaller pots, which allows me to water from below when needed.
The difference between the beginning and end of Week 2 is already clearly visible.

โข pH: 6.0
โข EC: 0.2

ndsgrow Week 3 of veg and things are starting to pick up! ๐ฑ
Growth has accelerated noticeably. The plants are getting wider and more compact, the fan leaves are getting larger, and the new growth is coming in healthy and strong. The first side branches are developing nicely, and the plants are looking very vigorous overall.
Starting this week, Iโm adding 1,0ml/L @Plagron CalMag Pro to my tap water to maintain the desired CalMag ratio (3:1).
Vegetative Day 18 โ Transplant Day ๐ฑ
The 0.75 L pots were fully rooted, so it was time to move the plants into temporary 5 L pots.
Iโm also adding and mixing @Plagron Perlite into the Light Mix at approximately 4:1 to improve aeration and drainage.
Mycorrhizal cultures were applied during the transplant as well. Together with @Plagron Power Roots, Iโm aiming for rapid root development and a smooth transition into the larger pots.

Vegetative Day 20.
The plants showed no signs of transplant stress โ fantastic.
Thatโs why I increased the PPFD to 320โ350. They have already developed 4, in some cases even 5, nodes โ which means topping will be done in 1โ2 days.
From now on, Iโll also note the vegetation day on the pictures, so you can follow the progress even more easily.
Stay tuned for the next updates! ๐ฑ๐

ndsgrow ๐ฑ Week 4 is finally here! ๐ฑ
That means more than half of the vegetative phase is already behind us. Now itโs time to start training! ๐ช๐ฟ
Weโre kicking off the new week by topping our four @SensiSeeds Hindu Kush plants. All four ladies were topped above the 3rd / 4th node.
For now, itโs time to wait and let the side branches push their way upwards. Once theyโve developed enough, weโll gently spread them out to create a more even canopy and improve light distribution throughout the plants. โ๏ธ๐ฑ
Thereโs no need for any additional nutrients at the moment. Thanks to the regular potting-up, the plants still have plenty of fresh nutrients available to support their growth.
Vegetation Day 23:
Just one day after topping, the wounds have already sealed nicely. The side shoots look extremely sturdy, and I have the feeling that they have already made noticeable progress overnight.
After the watering on Day 18, the pots are slowly starting to dry out and are noticeably lighter. They should be ready for their next watering in 1โ2 days.
You can already see some differences between the various phenotypes as well. Weโll take a closer look at those later on.
So far, Iโm really enjoying growing the genetics from @SensiSeeds . ๐ฑ
_______________________________________________________
Vegetation Day 26:
The shoots have really started stretching upwards and were ready for some LST. I tied down the longer side branches to the rim of the pots with some wire, while the smaller upper shoots were gently bent into place with LST clips.
I had to remove a few fan leaves that I couldnโt tuck underneath the branches, mainly some of the upper ones. The girls have developed some seriously huge, typical Indica-style fan leaves, which were starting to block out the lower growth.
The ladies look pretty wild right now of. Time to let them chill and recover from the stress, and support them with proper watering. They should be thirsty again in a day or two.
Now we just let them do their thing. ๐ฑ

Vegetation Day 28:
On the last day of week 4 of veg, it was finally time to get the ladies into their final 11 L pots.
After the transplant, I gave each plant around 4 L of water with 1 ml/L @Plagron Power Roots and 1 ml/L @Plagron CalMag Pro , watering until I got just a little bit of runoff. ๐ง
I bent the branches back down again to open up the plants and make sure the light can reach the inner growth. Now Iโm giving the girls 2โ3 days to settle in and recover before continuing with the training. ๐ช๐ผ
Current conditions:
โข PPFD: ~350 - 400
โข Light distance: 55 cm
โข Temperature: 24ยฐC

ndsgrow Weโve officially reached Week 5! ๐ฑ
Today, on Day 30 of the vegetative phase, the training continued. The branches were gently bent down again, some leaves were removed, and everything was adjusted to make sure all the new growth gets enough light.
The plants from @SensiSeeds handled the transplant really well and seem to be very happy after being watered in. ๐
Once the roots have fully established themselves in their new pots, the growth above the substrate should really start taking off again.
_______________________________________________________
Vegetation Day 32:
The ladies have bounced back nicely after the LST and are already standing tall again. You can really see that theyโre doing exactly what we want โ pushing out plenty of new shoots. ๐
To give those new growth points more light and room to develop, we did a little defoliation today and removed some leaves that were shading the potential new shoots.
Weโve also spotted the first root tips poking through the drainage holes of the 11L pots. The ladies should be thirsty enough for their next watering in another 1โ2 days.
_______________________________________________________
Vegetation Day 34:
Today, you can really see the progress of the ladies. Theyโre getting bushier, developing new shoots, and overall they look very healthy and vibrant.
The days between the photos were used to continue training them with LST.
Today, the ladies also got some water according to my usual schedule and amounts. Now weโll see when they start showing me that theyโre ready for some nutrients.
The timing was perfect, because Iโll be away from home for three days, so the girls will have to look after themselves in the meantime. ๐

ndsgrow Vegetation Day 37:
Weโve officially entered the final week of veg! Iโve been away in Prague for 3 days, so this update is unfortunately a day later than usual. Sorry about that, guys! But hereโs one important fact:
โHappy wife, happy life.โ ๐
During that time, the girls put on some nice biomass and pushed out plenty of potential new growth sites.
That meant it was time for a bit of defoliation to get some light back into the inner canopy and reach as many bud sites as possible. From here on out, Iโll only be tucking down the upper tops to create an as even canopy as possible before flipping to flower.
I deliberately decided to run this grow without a SCROG netโฆ and instantly regretted that decision. Just check the picture. Got a little too ambitious and ended up fixing the damage with some tape. You live and learn! ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
_______________________________________________________
Vegetation Day 40:
Weโve left the plants undisturbed for the past 3 days. There was only one watering on Day 39 โ youโll find the details below.
The pale new growth and leaf tips are completely typical of fresh growth. When plants develop new leaves rapidly under good lighting, chlorophyll synthesis can lag slightly behind during the first few days.
Almost all LST clips were removed today.
The damaged spot from Day 37 seems to be healing well. The branch looks just as healthy as the others.
The substrate pH needs to come up a bit now. The acidic buffer in the Light-Mix is slowly wearing off, so weโre raising the watering pH to 6.5 to get the substrate ready for flowering.
The runoff readings below are telling us exactly that. ๐ง
At the next watering, weโll also be introducing additional nutrients for the first time in over 40 days. ๐ฑ
_______________________________________________________
Vegetation Day 42:
The last day of veg is here! Tomorrow, itโs time to switch the lights to 12/12. ๐ฑ
Quite a bit has happened since the last update. The plants have put on some serious growth and added quite a bit more biomass. Iโm also really happy with the number of potential bud sites developing.
A quick update on how the Hindu Kush from @SensiSeeds handled training:
Both LST and topping went really well. The plants took it in their stride and bounced back without any signs of stress. The small break on one of the branches was entirely my own fault. ๐
