I use a 47 l tank with reverse osmosis water that is regulated down to PH 6.0 As the Sonnenerde Bio Hanferde is already covering the nutrients I did not add any nutrients so far, apart from preventive CalMag in a low dose. In the past I had some issue at the end of the grow. Probably due to nutrient lockout. So this grow I will keep a close eye on the PH levels and any discolorations. I had some issues with fungus gnats, so I started early with some nematodes, will keep an eye on it to see if I need to add more in the future. In the middle of week 3 I decided to top after the 5th node. Once the two branches developed fully I will try some LST to form a nice base for the canvas. I run only one plant this time, so I should have a lot of room for using a SCROG later on.

flatcap During the last weeks I regularly applied some LST to train the plant. As I only run with one plant in the tent I want to fill the area as well as possible. For this I used a combination of 3D printed LST clips and hooks made of plant wire. Today I also started to apply a SCROG net. Unfortunately the net I had available is not really suited for my 60 x 90 cm tent. In order to get the tension somewhat balanced over the whole area and achieve a leveled canvas I build I frame out of some plant wire to fix the SCROG net onto. This seems to work for now, let's see how it develops once the plant actually enters its stretch. For the SCROG I tried to apply the net roughly 20 - 25 cm above the soil level. The plant reached around 27 cm at its highest point, so the stress due to the net should be minimal for now. The next steps after the plant recovers from the stress in a few days would be to flip the light into 12/12 to start flower, reapplying the SCROG where necessary every few days, increasing the light intensity and decreasing RH step by step. Currently the light is dimmed at 4/10, which yields around 430 μmol/(m²s) in the center and around 350 μmol/(m²s) at the edges of the plant. To even that out a little I will raise the lamp a few centimeters and increase the intensity accordingly when switching into flower. After giving nematodes I did not see any gnats anymore, but I keep some yellow cards in the tent, just to make sure and to be able to reapply some nematodes if it becomes necessary. So far I am really happy with the plant, the aroma it starts to give of is already pretty nice and it seems happy and healthy. Can't wait to find out if it's actually a female... 😅

flatcap Past week I started with the SCROG, this past weekend I switched to 12/12. I can already see a light stretch and the SCROG comes in handy for that. As he/she is growing very bushily I started with some light defoliation beneath the net already, to increase airflow under the canvas. I am running 2 fans in tandem (one on top, one below), in slightly overlapping 30 min intervals. So far I cannot see any clear signs of gender, so I will be on the lookout this week :) As I spotted some gnats on the new yellow card I hung up last week I started with some nematode again, so far it seems to be in check. One of my regular potted plants at home seemed to be invested with thrips, so after quarantining it I also placed some predator mites and lacewing larvae in the tent, just to be safe.
