GanjaGecko WEEK2 // D8 - D14 Not much has happened here yet. All are showing good growth and developing healthy side shoots. This week, they were repotted from the small seedling pots into slightly larger seedling pots. These served as a temporary home for the ladies. The substrate was mixed with some worm humus, rock dust, and a bit of BioGrow from GreenHouseFeeding to ensure the ladies have everything they need at the start. _____________________________________________ Fertilizing: Watering is done with water that is kept in motion 24/7 with an aquarium pump in a 10L watering can. GanjaGecko WEEK3 // D15 - D21 All the ladies started showing signs of a slight magnesium deficiency this week. To meet the slightly increased magnesium needs of the ladies, some rock dust was added, and there was also another 10g of BioGrow from GreenHouseFeeding along with some worm humus. Since the flowering tent was still occupied at this time, a little extra food wouldn't hurt. The pot had to last for a moment. It turned out that timely action was taken. Due to the slightly smaller height of the seedling tent, the LED is hanging at the maximum height in the tent, and the next lower setting when dimming the LED would be completely OFF, the ladies are a bit light-starved. Later on, it shows that they are generally quite compact plants, which positively affects the internodes. The first differences between the two phenotypes can be observed slowly. Lady #2 has slightly more restrained growth; her side shoots didn't want to cooperate at first. GanjaGecko WEEK4 // D21 - D28 This week, the ladies underwent their topping. They were topped above the 4th node, resulting in a cute little bush right away. Lady#2 initially evokes a bit of sympathy, but that will change a bit in the coming weeks. She needed the topping, as the side branches started to get some momentum. They could have been topped earlier, which would have gotten the side branches going sooner. There’s supposed to be a backup cut, so the main stem needed to reach a certain height and have a certain number of nodes to make a safe cut that can survive. _____________________________________________ Fertilizing: Water is given that is kept in motion 24/7 with an aquarium pump in a 10L watering can. GanjaGecko WEEK5 // D29 - D35 This week, the ladies were repotted and finally moved into the tent where they will start flowering. The two ladies have settled comfortably in the 60×60×180cm tent from Spiderfarmer under the Sanlight EVO 3-60 1.5. The full power of 200W is not being used here; 150W is sufficient for 60×60cm. Of course, a bit more wattage brings a bit more. The goal is to achieve the best possible g/Watt ratio. Additionally, there are two under-canopy lights with 10W each that will be turned on from week 2-3. That should definitely provide enough power for a tent of this size. The substrate mix consists of about 80% BioBizz Lightmix and about 20% coco with perlite. For soil improvement, there was: - 1 tsp/L worm humus - 2g/L rock dust - 5% biochar In the pot where the ladies found their place, the planting hole was previously sprinkled with some Great White mycorrhiza and Dynomyco mycorrhiza. On the surface, there was only 15g of BioGrow from GreenHouseFeeding, which was mixed into the substrate. The recommendation is 3-5g per L of substrate for a growth phase of 8 weeks. However, a long time before flowering was not planned here. The ladies should settle in for about a week, and then flowering should be initiated. The new substrate with worm humus should therefore be sufficient for 1½ weeks. The soil was moistened before watering with a pressure sprayer/tree sprayer. Then, the young ladies received 1ml/L PowerRoots, 2ml/L Alfaboost, 0.1ml mono-silicic, 0.8ml/L CalMagPro, 1g/L BioEnhancer, and 0.75g/L Dynomyco Spark. Initially, 300ml was given from above into the pot and another 200ml into the saucer. The pH was adjusted to 6.0 beforehand.
