GanjaGecko Here begins a new journey. We're following two young ladies of a new genetic variety from the breeder • Wotans Genetics • Over time, we'll be adding more info about the strain here in consultation with the breeder. For now, I can't say much except that they are growing fantastically💚 Since the ladies are in week 5, there will be an update every 3-4 days for the new week. I've had quite a lot on my plate, and the other ladies had to be harvested first. Now there's finally some breathing room. The ladies were placed in the CannaKan with some Seedbooster Plus and a bit of hydrogen peroxide on the heating mat. After 15 hours, most of the water in the CannaKan was drained, and then the seeds were left in the CannaKan for a few more hours. After that, they went back into the seedling pots with a dome. These were placed on an upside-down saucer with a heating mat underneath to provide a cozy warm environment for the seeds. After just 3 days, the first young lady in the seedling pot saw the light of day, and a day later, the second one did too. ______________________________________________ For those who are curious and want to browse or get to know the breeder a bit more: https://www.wotans-genetics.de/shop/ https://x.com/Wotans_Genetics

GanjaGecko WEEK2 // D8 - D14 Not much has happened here yet. All are showing good growth and developing healthy side shoots. This week, they were repotted from the small seedling pots into slightly larger seedling pots. These served as a temporary home for the ladies. The substrate was mixed with some worm humus, rock dust, and a bit of BioGrow from GreenHouseFeeding to ensure the ladies have everything they need at the start. _____________________________________________ Fertilizing: Watering is done with water that is kept in motion 24/7 with an aquarium pump in a 10L watering can. On Day 8, there was 1ml/L PowerRoots, 0.8ml/L CalMagPro, 2ml/L Alfaboost. 250ml was given to the pots. On Day 10, there was 1ml/L PowerRoots, 0.8ml/L CalMagPro, 2ml/L Alfaboost. 250ml was given to the pots. GanjaGecko WEEK3 // D15 - D21 All the ladies started showing signs of a slight magnesium deficiency this week. To meet the slightly increased magnesium needs of the ladies, some rock dust was added, and there was also another 10g of BioGrow from GreenHouseFeeding along with some worm humus. Since the flowering tent was still occupied at this time, a little extra food wouldn't hurt. The pot had to last for a moment. It turned out that timely action was taken. Due to the slightly smaller height of the seedling tent, the LED is hanging at the maximum height in the tent, and the next lower setting when dimming the LED would be completely OFF, the ladies are a bit light-starved. Later on, it shows that they are generally quite compact plants, which positively affects the internodes. The first differences between the two phenotypes can be observed slowly. Lady #2 has slightly more restrained growth; her side shoots didn't want to cooperate at first. That changes a bit over time. _____________________________________________ Fertilizing: Watering is done with water that is kept in motion 24/7 with an aquarium pump in a 10L watering can. On Day 15, there was 1ml/L PowerRoots, 0.8ml/L CalMagPro, 2ml/L Alfaboost. 250ml was given to the pots. GanjaGecko WEEK4 // D21 - D28 This week, the ladies underwent their topping. They were topped above the 4th node, resulting in a cute little bush right away. Lady#2 initially evokes a bit of sympathy, but that will change a bit in the coming weeks. She needed the topping, as the side branches started to get some momentum. They could have been topped earlier, which would have gotten the side branches going sooner. There’s supposed to be a backup cut, so the main stem needed to reach a certain height and have a certain number of nodes to make a safe cut that can survive. _____________________________________________ Fertilizing: Water is given that is kept in motion 24/7 with an aquarium pump in a 10L watering can. GanjaGecko WEEK5 // D29 - D35 This week, the ladies were repotted and finally moved into the tent where they will start flowering. The two ladies have made themselves comfortable in the 60×60×180cm tent from Spiderfarmer under the Sanlight EVO 3-60 1.5. The full power of 200W is not being used here; 150W is sufficient for 60×60cm. Of course, a bit more wattage brings a bit more. The goal is to achieve the best possible g/Watt ratio. Additionally, there are two under-canopy lights with 10W each that will be turned on from week 2-3. That should definitely provide enough power for a tent of this size. The substrate mix consists of about 80% BioBizz Lightmix and about 20% coco with perlite. For soil improvement, there was: - 1 tsp/L worm humus - 2g/L rock dust - 5% BioChar In the pot where the ladies have found their place, the planting hole was previously sprinkled with some Great White mycorrhiza and Dynomyco mycorrhiza. On the surface, there were just 15g of BioGrow from GreenHouseFeeding, which was mixed into the substrate. The recommendation is 3-5g per L of substrate for a growth phase of 8 weeks. However, a long time until flowering was not planned here. The ladies should settle in for about a week, and then flowering should be initiated. The new substrate with worm humus should therefore be sufficient for 1½ weeks. The soil was moistened before watering with a pressure sprayer/tree sprayer. Then, for the young ladies, there was 1ml/L PowerRoots, 2ml/L Alfaboost, 0.1ml Mono-Silicic, 0.8ml/L CalMagPro, 1g/L BioEnhancer, and 0.75g/L Dynomyco Spark. At the beginning, 300ml was given from above into the pot and another 200ml into the saucer. The pH value was adjusted to 6.0 beforehand. Additionally, nematodes were added to the water to prevent pesky fungus gnats. _____________________________________________ Fertilizing: Watering is done with water that is kept in motion 24/7 with an aquarium pump in a 10L watering can. On Day 29, there was 1ml/L PowerRoots, 0.8ml/L CalMagPro, 2ml/L Alfaboost. 250ml was given in the pots. On Day 31, there was 1ml/L PowerRoots, 0.8ml/L CalMagPro, 2ml/L Alfaboost. 250ml was given in the pots. On Day 34, there was 1ml/L PowerRoots, 0.8ml/L CalMagPro, 2ml/L Alfaboost, 10ml/L Orgatrex, 1g/L BioEnhancer. 250ml was given in the pots. _____________________________________________ Light: Distance: 40cm Watt: 60W Ppfd: 400 Ø DLI: 26 Ø _______________________________ Environment: Temp: 21-25°C RH: 50-65% VPD: 0.5-1.1 kPa _______________________________________________ For those curious and wanting to browse or get to know the breeder a bit more: https://www.wotans-genetics.de/shop/ https://x.com/Wotans_Genetics

GanjaGecko WEEK7/2F // D43/8F - D49/14F Each lady received her bloom fertilizer with a small layer of substrate in the pots. There were also 10 teaspoons of worm humus and another ½ teaspoon of rock dust in each pot. Each lady got 4g of BioBloom per liter of substrate as bloom fertilizer. In two weeks, around the middle of the flowering stage, each lady will get another 10-15g of BioBloom + 2 teaspoons of BatGuano per lady. Midweek, the LED was dimmed to 150W, so the ladies are now getting about 900ppfd, which should be sufficient for lush flowering. On the first day of the second flowering week, the FarRed wake-up and sleep light was turned on. A Far Red light bar in the 730-745nm range - the Spider Farmer SUPP-IR 16. This is turned on for 15 minutes as a little sleep aid before the Sanlight goes off and for 15 minutes after the Sanlight goes off. The lighting with FarRed LEDs accelerates the metabolic shift after the light goes out. This allows the ladies to recover better at night and start the new day refreshed. Plants have an absorption spectrum that sees Far Red light as an indicator of the onset of darkness. We can take advantage of this fact with artificial lighting. The so-called phytochromes are responsible for the absorption of Far Red light waves. These are a type of photoreceptor proteins that influence a variety of plant growth processes. Phytochromes control processes such as germination, flowering, and photoperiodism, which is the regulation of the day-night rhythm. Essentially, there are two types or conformations of phytochromes in plants: The Pr-form (r=red) has its absorption maximum at around 660 nm and the Pfr-form (fr=far red) at about 730 nm. What do phytochromes have to do with plant lights? Quite simply: By using the Far Red spectrum, relevant processes such as photoperiodism can be specifically influenced to optimize nighttime recovery and thus photosynthesis, leading to better yield results. If the low-energy Far Red radiation is kept on for about 10 to 15 minutes longer than the regular light in the evening, it acts as a "sleep initiator." Plants switch to their natural sleep mode faster this way and can use the extra time for recovery. (Source: https://www.pro-emit.de/ratgeber/schlafinitiierung-per-far-red/) At the end of the week, a SCROG net was installed, and that was the week wrapped up. _____________________________________________ Fertilizing: Watering is done with water that is kept in motion 24/7 with an aquarium pump in a 10L watering can. Day 43/8F had 1ml/L PowerRoots, 0.8ml/L CalMagPro, 2ml/L Alfaboost. 600ml went into the pots and 200ml into the saucer. GanjaGecko WEEK8/3F // D50/15F - D56/21F The two ladies are growing fabulously. Lady#1, who looked significantly stronger after topping in the seedling tent, is now the slightly smaller one with the least stretch. Lady#2, who initially evoked some sympathy, has an incredibly beautiful growth and also the strongest flower development. The internodes are understandably a bit shorter on Lady#1 than on Lady#2. But both ladies are very pleasant. Here, the ladies weren't as affected by the increased pH level. The pH level has only drifted to 7.5 here. Both ladies will be watered with a pH of 6.0 as a precaution. _____________________________________________ Fertilizing: Watering is done with water that is kept in motion 24/7 with an aquarium pump in a 10L watering can. Hm, so when I see how the little ones are doing in their pots, I think I'll go back to more closed ones. I had the Super Ercoles in round shape with lots of ventilation holes, but I find they dry out way too unevenly, and I wasn't satisfied with the root growth when transplanting, even though the plants looked good. Next time, I'd like to test these here: https://www.pasquiniebini.com/en/product/square-pot/ I find them apparently perfect. They're a bit taller and a little more open at the bottom than what I would call the normal pots.

GanjaGecko commented23d ago
@Kushycat, as smaller seedling pots, small plastic pots are quite nice because they don't unnecessarily complicate transplanting. For final pots, I would always recommend fabric pots. They create a tighter and finer root structure. Fabric pots also provide better oxygen supply, and overwatering is nearly impossible in a fabric pot.

@GanjaGecko, Yeah, I can relate. At first, I thought Airpots were the way to go. And they are good, but they also have disadvantages and I find them a bit underdeveloped at times. I, old Daniel Düsentrieb, of course, have my thoughts on it. 😂 I would love to design something myself, let's say. I already have a clear idea in my head of a modular system. Basically one for everything: first small but tall for deep roots to draw in, and then upgrade to a larger size for later veg/flower. Ah, we'll see. At some point, I'll build an STL and get it printed as a 3D print. For now, I've been thinking: I still have some fleece material, actually for pollen filters on windows. I want to wrap that around so they don't look like a desert on the outside all the time. xD

@Kushycat, Yeah, I think the Airpots would dry out too quickly for me too. Sounds cool. I'm definitely curious about what you'll come up with 💪🏽
