I am very happy with the results of this black cream grow. The buds are quite fat and the two plants in total yielded 145g which is far beyond my needs.
The buds range in color from green to dark purple, with most a mix of both colors. There are orange pistils throughout the buds, and they are dusted with very frosty trichomes.
The buds smell sweet, with a bit of creamy spice and caramel earthiness but I expect the smell to evolve during the cure.
The potency is quite strong, the highest that I have grown so far. After both smoking and vaping the buds have a very calming effect that does not become overly sedating.
Edit: After spending over a month in jars, the Black Cream is still sweet, creamy, and earthy when vaped. It has strong mood uplifting and relaxing effects. I have continued to enjoy this strain's effects and use it frequently during evenings.

I have been very happy with this grow, despite a few setbacks. I ran into cal-mag issues later into flowering, and may have caused light stress as well. Despite good ventilation and proper humidity levels, I had mold in the center of the largest cola where there was no airflow. In the future if I grow buds this size I will defoliate much more aggressively. This may have lost 10 percent of the yield, but I still ended up with 145g of great flowers.
I highly recommend Black Cream by Sweet Seeds, and I will definitely be revisiting it in the future! I find dark purple/black buds some of the most beautiful, and this strain ended up surpassing my expectations.
Thank you to everyone in the GD community who offered advice and encouragement, it is greatly appreciated!
One of my seedlings, seedling A, is twisting a bit as it grows and has some small lighter patches on a few of it's leaves. The other seedling is growing in the same conditions but very normal in it's growth. Any idea if this is a genetic variation, or an environmental issue?
Hey Cheeba, looks pretty normal to me, the leafs look twisted sometimes as they split into single finger then 3 finger then 5 finger leafs. so the leafs look twisted but it's just part of the normal growth process. Hope this helps ! ๐
There is a little bit of minor yellowing/browning in spots, on a few fan and sugar leafs. The plants otherwise seem healthy. Is this a normal part of this stage of flowering, or should I be concerned about nutrient issues? Thanks!
They both look good and have that same colour area around the same place it looks like a little cal mag maby your running her very low on that end.. genetics wise she is coming along with the flowering but she still has a ways to go I would say keep an eye on her tricohmes and you'll get some nice bud
@Sweet_Seeds, thanks, I have high hopes for it! It looks like it can end up a real beauty with the right care, so it's going to be fun seeing if I can grow to its full potential ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฅ
My suggestions just let her grow^^, i see nothing to do much better, she gets molasses and beneficals and you dont overdo it with the Nutrients. If you have a PK booster for the next 2 weeks you can push her alittle more, if you dont have no problem at all
High there, thanks for your like and sharing the love for the Red Family, mine are outdoors and the temperature drops at night that is helping the colour to develop i think .keep on growing magic! โบ๏ธ
A pity that some parts had fungi. ๐ข
But... The rest is fine, and you have done a great job.๐
To avoid any fright, a good drying and well supervised.
Good luck, we will be attentive. ๐
Sweet smokes!

@Sweet_Seeds, thanks, I am still very happy with the outcome! The small loss due to fungi was just a learning experience, and I am excited to carefully grow the strain in the future. The grow has yielded more healthy bud than I know what to do with ๐
Overall a great looking group! Your leaves will never come back from a cal-mag deficiency but they should stop progressing. Are you using LED lights? If so the intensity is the cause of needing a higher dose. Learned that one the hard way and it took me a while to figure it out. The good new is you never hardly hear of cal-mag toxicity. Also Iโd like to not that the buds look like they are foxtailing or growing more bud around the original bud. That can be a heat or light thing. If you say they are hazing but not ambering you may want to try to look deeper Into the buds for your trichome view.
@ThatoneAKguy, yeah they were getting a bit too much light from the QBs so I raised the lights last week, and canopy has been a little warm for flowering as well! I have been looking at upper and lower buds' trichomes and everything seems to be developing as it should. They are getting a little more ripe every day. I think I will be more preemptive with the CalMag next grow, but I am still hoping for a good harvest this time around. Thanks for the advice! ๐
hey there Cheeb's , you can probably go ahead and add pk , but stop two weeks before harvest (at least) same for some calmag idk, just my level best advice for your state in the grow
@CRiSPrGrow, I appreciate it, always happy to learn! I have some blooming nutes going, but do you think it looks hungry for more PK? I think I'm going to double the GO biothrive bloom nutrient and add some Greenleaf calmag while decreasing the Megacrop slightly. ๐
I'm excited to watch the grow, the black cream strains such a beautiful one.
Just another thought with the spots, I had some seedlings get some spots from me hand misting them to boost the humidity and i think that helped them get a little spotty due to the lights+water droplets. Just some possible ideas.
Enjoy the grow, i hope your heat wave breaks soon.โ๏ธ
@Ageddd, thanks! The pre ammended soil mix seems to work great for vegitative growth, and I am dialing up the nutes now for flowering. Hoping to plump up the buds and maybe get some purples or blacks from the plant's genetics.
