Started off worried about the little guys - i'd never heard of the membrane not getting removed from cotyledons before sprouting. Once I removed the membranes (on both plants) they were good as new. Had to leave em for a couple of days to see family our of town. I've been watering (imo) super lightly. About a liter a day into each 5 gal pot, around the seedling. Should I be watering more? Less? How am I looking? Feedback appreciated! FYI using FoxFarm Happy Frog in 5gal Fabric Pots, CKS Northern Lights Auto. When should I start nutes?

How are my plants looking? The photo with the biggest leaves is day 7. Am I under-watering or over watering? Should I be adding nutes soon? Is this comparable growth to other successful NLA grows?

Hey there living it, you're on point for week one, just keep the humidity and temperature as stable as possible . For an auto you don't need to add any nutrients until week 3 even until flower should be fine. If you do add nutes go 1/4 strength and go slowly so the plant doesnt get burnt. Hope this helps ! 🚀

What do you think is causing the spotting, leaf curling, and stunted growth in plant #1? My money is on light burn and/or PH issue. I have a PH control kit I've been using to treat the water, but do you think just treating the water is enough? Using FoxFarm HF soil, no nutes yet

Hey I saw that you had your light at 16 inches. That caused the burn spots and the curling on the leaves. On my 1000w leds I run about 36" at this stage then go down to 24". Any closer than that will burn them. All leds are different though and usually have a manufacturers recommended height. Looks like you have it at 48 now. It is fine to leave it there and watch for her to start stretching. If she starts stretching then move it down a little each day until you find that sweet spot. As far as your ph. You can take a sample of your runoff water from the bottom of your pot when you water and it will tell you what your soil ph is. Happy frog is a high quality soil and is usually buffers ph really well. Hope this gets you headed in the right direction. Good luck!

Should I flush my plants? I realized that I've never done that and have been feeding them nutes for over 3 weeks now. They've definitely got some nite burn. How do I flush plants in soil without drowning the roots? And how shortly after flushing should I start adding nutes again

I'm not seeing any nute burn in your photos. But I would like to mention some of your upper leaves closest to your light show signs of heat/light stress since the leaf blades are starting to curl upwards. I would consider back off your light a bit and see if they lay back down. If your getting serious about growing you should really consider investing in a PPF/PAR meter which will help you measure the intensity of your light at different distances and part of your grow area. I use one every grow best tool I have no more guessing. As far as flushing goes some auto flower growers will do a flush around week 5 then switch to bloom nutrients just to help remove any excess nitrogen that is not needed as much during bloom. It's a matter of preference. I personally will flush to bring my runoff TDS below 900 ppm (Hanna 0.5 scale) or 1.8 e.c. Then let them dry out. Next time I feed in the 450 to 500 ppm range and measure my run off ppm. If it's high then they get plain water next time. I do this to ensure they are actually feeding off the nutes and they are not accumulating. Hope this helps. 👍

And to answer another question depending to LST... there is no need for lst now....give them 10 days more then you can do topping ( if they grow vigor) and LST

@Livinit2019, if you are new to trimming technics, just do what is comfortable for you. look at the plant, and listen what she says.....or your belly what he says...... there is no rule to do it like this or that.... i would look for the plant and what is ok for you to do....... you grow more often wed and in every grow you get a chance to do more. But put away the botom leaves , and give her more distance to the light, in my mind she could stretch more.

@Mrs_Larimar, thank you for your input! I started LST 10 days later per your recommendation, and the healthier plant grew like gangbusters -- but I made a rookie mistake and accidentally cut some leaves and an entire branch of both plants while I was doing so (week 4). Still growing well, but should I still top the plant with that in mind? And also, do I still top from the main cola? There are a bunch of strong, thick off shoots on the healthier one. It's actually hard to see where the main cola is without lifting a bunch of leaves and shoots up because it's so bushy and all the stems are so thick lol

Hey boss, I've had the same.issue with cropking autos for some reason I got brown on my white widow and northern lights both are not growing much, brown spots, white tips. Honestly now I've seen it here and another one I think it's the breeder with autos not anything we are doing. I thought it was my soil, my light, ph levels from the water and run off none of it was wrong in the end just the crappy breeder. Hope this helps

@Livinit2019, I'm on my 2nd set of autos for NL and WW myself. The only one doing ok is the NL but it's like stuck at like week two almost. The WW is a loss cause. I'm going to pull the list support on the WW but leave the NL as it seems to be ok. I wrote the company, sent them pictures, of my medical mix, ph of water, ph of run off and other data. They have yet to even respond which has been over 2 weeks now. Sad. So I ordered up some Dina and Queens royal photos because this Canadian seed company is poor service and breeder. I hope you plants come along and that your next round goes better!

@CanuckVetGrwr, thanks for the input! I fear you may be right -- my bag seed has bounced back stronger than the damn short NLA lol. I still have 3 more of the NLA seeds though, so after this harvest we will see what the rest look like.

@Cannibalgardens and @CRiSPrGrow thank you both! I really appreciate the input. I tried growing hydro back in my high school days but only had 1 harvest and it was too early. Looking forward to a clean soil grow and harvest this time around.

It looks like I had the lights too close to the plant and got some minor discoloration and minor leaf curling on these babies. I'll update with pics on that when I post week 2. Thanks for the advice everyone
