I had two completely different phenotypes from these plants. One purple, one green, but they had very similar effects. The green had a slightly stronger than the purple and the purple was slightly more aromatic than the green.
-Calming body stone with some behind my eyes. Red eyes.
-Relaxing, but not couch locking.
Apologies for not finishing this diary up back earlier this year. Seems like an absolute lifetime ago. Since this harvest, I have had major life changes like a new kiddo, and a few changes of scenery. Your boy is back though and I have some exciting stuff to share with everyone here. 👊
I am the type of person that takes very detailed notes and that was especially true for these testers. Part of my due diligence. Below are my harvest notes from January 23rd, 2020:
Growth:
-Plants did not display any noticeable nutrient deficiencies that would indicate a need for more than normal feed amounts.
-Plants both had a great flat bush like with minimal topping, leaf tucking, finger training (pop and twist).
-Plants grew with wonderful vigor when temperatures were above 65F at night.
-Plants did not appear to like below 60F temperatures at night, almost ceasing growth and significantly increasing flower time.
-One of the two plants turned dark purple/black in the final 2 weeks of flower.
-The purple pheno was much skinnier than the green pheno in terms of cola development. Plant yielded less as well but only slightly.
-Grown with organic bottles and top dresses for cal mag, along with recharge in veg and mammoth p in flower.
-LED grown
Smells:
-Both plants have a similar, yet extremely complex and unique odor: perfume/musk/aftershave/pine
-In addition time the smells above, the purple pheno also has an amazing mint chocolate chip smell.
Maybe in a Rasta Jeff style description, the purple pheno would be “like if your grandpa was wearing a slightly feminine cologne, sitting in an ice cream parlor, eating a cup of mint chocolate chips.” 😆
Effects:
My testing method is to smoke the tester for the first smoke of the day, after a full 9 hour work day sober, and for two single bowls, separated by 1-2 hours. I do this for 3 days then report back.
Both had similar effects noted below:
-Calming body stone with some behind my eyes. Red eyes.
-Relaxing, but not couch locking.
-I know these old labels don’t hold up more but it feels like the more indica side of your lines unlike most of what I’ve grown recently.
-Seems to make me crave discussion about passionate topics, but not in a Lemon Jeffrey way if that makes sense. It doesn’t feel like my thoughts and mouth are racing.
Cheers to everyone who followed along!

Grimbol, my man my mentor, how do you pick your companion plants, and would you kindly drop by my diary and provide your insight on how these plants are doing ? 🚀
Grimbol! Man... Your breakdowns and attention to detail is outstanding my friend! I am learning and living vicariously through your grows! Can’t thank you enough!
@SlimPiggins,
These plants are a passion for me for sure. Always a labor of love.
You are pretty funny though. That would be pretty crazy to be on the show! Maybe someday when I move down to CO!
Sounds good on the IG.
Thanks man, appreciate you!

@GrimbolTheDruid,
Then expect more comments like this! You are clearly very passionate about your grows and it shows! I am glad to know your work and will be thrilled to follow you and your girls all across the Internet! It’s stalking with respect Brother! 🙌🏻😂
I will send you a DM on Instagram soon to introduce myself Sir!
Btw, when is Rasta Jeff going to have you on the “Grow from Your Heart” Series? The two of you on the same podcast would be INSANE!!
Have a great weekend My Friend and Big Hugs to you and your Family!
Cheers,
Slim 😎
@420pete,
Hey, thanks for asking!
I actually decided to do this run outside of no-till for consistency sake. Rasta Jeff sent me these tester beans and I wanted to make sure that I could give him good data. I have had issues trying to get the no till bed dialed in for watering and I don't really think it is as effective with anything less than 30 gallons of soil.
Also semi related- I want to run more seeds each year. Using beds makes this very difficult to do especially when using regs. I don't like transplanting into no till beds at all (defeats the purpose imo) but when I was, I had to somehow store the large pots of soil (inside) for months while I started the run in solo cups, then 1 gallons.
In short, the amount of space and specific goals I have are making it difficult to run full no till with any efficiency. I still want to grow organic so as a concession, I am going to use organic bottles and biotabs for a bit until I have more space.
Have a good one!
