@Tazard, I have a perfect line of division in my tent right now...everything the bestva is shining on has outgrown the little marshydro....you literally can see were one lights footprint ends and the other begins...im gonna try to get some pics to show what I mean...the is a 6-10 inch difference in growth between the lights right now...even though the bestva isn't as bright....it seems to be doing something the plants love for sure...atleast in veg so far...I would also like to add that @BigDaddyK maybe on to something with using a lux meter to make sure your using your lights potential...while it doesn't give you an accurate measurement of the spectrum or a breakdown of each spectrum of PAR it does accurately tell you the RIGHT distance and were your light needs to be...a lux meter is far cheaper and more affordable than a PAR meter...I know we should measure the actual light output in par because its what plants really use but all that aside a lux meter will give you an accurate enough reading of were your light should be distance wise...plain and simple...you can get a lux app for your phone and see...try measuring at your plants top and then raise the light and remeasure...I promise you will not only get different measurements you can use them to MORE accurately dial in the correct distance of your light for maximum efficiency...Happy holidays and I believe I am going to run a diary specificially to addresss this with the community as a whole...I have seen people getting bagged on for trying to be helpful and discredited as rubbish for using lux measurements...I am saying screw the numbers of the lux meter as a whole but use them simply as a guide for were your light needs to be...

Consider me knocked back. This girl finished up fantastically buddy. An absolutely beautiful yield. You almost nailed 1 gram per watt. Thats some real fantastic work here buddy. The buds look beautiful and delicious and I'm sure they must smoke fantastically. I'm very excited for your hard work to have paid off on this beautiful girl. You did a beautiful and fantastic job buddy. You should be very proud of yourself. Great work. I can't wait to see more dank grows from you in the future. Cheers!

@Sillyasswhitedude, I would agree that some of the things I have said are theories. Other things I've said are flat out science and have been proven. Genetics are genetics, thats pretty plain and simple. My point is that autos are different strains entirely. Possibly similar and maybe even better but they aren't the same strain. It very well comes down to preference. I'd prefer to sustainably farm genetics by keeping them around and breeding them myself instead of paying for someones seeds every time I want a plant. I breed my own strains and keep mothers around for clones so I can perpetually farm. They are two completely and incomparable grow methods. Granted there are a lot of similarities in the setup of both but growing photoperiods through perpetually cloning and topping with hard training is an entirely different growing experience than Autos. Autos are for regular folks who want to grow their own and experienced folks who don't want to bother putting in the effort of dealing with all the nonsense that comes with growing photoperiod strains. Whatever method you do is commendable. I don't personally think autos are anything special but thats my opinion. That doesn't mean I don't treat all people who grow with respect because all growing is an art and method. One does not = the other though. Like you said yourself. Autos are about everyone growing good weed. I'm all about that. I just prefer to grow in a way thats less inclusive in the manor of everyone being able to grow good weed. That doesn't mean to say that people who grow autos can't grow great weed because thats not true at all. It's just a completely different ball game. Ones easier and one is ass backwards complicated. They both produce dank weed when done right. Thats all that really matters. People comparing an auto grow to a photo grow are just silly. I'm not trying to take anything away from Autos. They are not even the same thing. As you know I've said before. I hope that everyone takes what I do and does it better. Then I hope they share the knowledge so more people themselves can do better. We all should strive to make each other better growers.

@DabCrab, I understand what your trying to say about the scale and such but I have seen people spend twice the time and yield half as much as some autos...ive seen some auto strains come out better than the photo period versions as well and while you cant grow a 10 ft 3 pounder auto you could grow 3 times as many in the same amount of time as a photo either indoors or outdoors...I agree it does come down to preference plain and simple but I wouldn't agree or take anything away from autos by any means...not quality not quantity and certainly not potency...im not concerned about what they are doing in professional grow rooms I think its pretty sweet that with autos its about EVERYONE being able to grow GOOD weed...I have some photos going as well so I'm not picky and hell who doesn't want the best of both worlds...I wouldn't take anything away from what we are doing here or discourage anyone from trying either...I just seen a few posts I felt were a little discrediting to autos and out of respect for the breeders I have reviewed I had to say stop the bus...AUTOS ARE FUCKING AWESOME...we have to be careful what we say here somewhat in respect to the breeders and such bro...a lot of companies offer both ...I see how some of your theories could be correct but they are just theories...the auto strains I have grown have been just as good in quality and in most cases better than ANYTHING ive had before...I'm almost 40 been smoking sense I was 17...im not an old head by no means but my reviews are honest and accurate...You cant take anything away from growing or what these breeders are doing today bro...its simply amazing how far things have come and no matter if you grow a killer autoflower or photoperiod IMO the breeder has done the work I just think we should respect that and give credit were its REALLY due!!!!

@Sillyasswhitedude, Well thats kind of out of left field but I'm happy to respond. My distaste for autos has nothing to do with any grower in particular. I don't like their genetics plain and simple. They always try to call them White Widow Auto or Blue Dream Auto but their genetics are anything but those strains. They are a completely new strain that is 30% - 50% Not the genetics specified. You can side by side a photoperiod and an auto that claim to have the same name and the photoperiod bud will be authentic and possibly of better quality unless we are talking a CBD strain and then the Auto might be a bit better in that department since ruderalis genetics are more focused on CBD production than THC. I don't deny that autos have their place in the growing world but it'd be a mistake to assume one is better than the other. It'd be a mistake to compare them even. An auto is going to do what and auto is going to do. A photoperiod is going to do whatever you tell it to do. An auto is never going to exceed it's genetics where as the limits of a photoperiod are how long you grow it. If I were to grow and auto the same size as a photoperiod I'd have no doubt that the auto might produce a few more grams if they were under perfect conditions. That being said you couldn't grow an auto 10 ft tall and get 2 - 3 pounds off it. It's all about economics of scale. (Keep in mind that just because thats no what I'm doing doesn't mean thats not what my future goal is). There is a reason that they don't grow auto-flowers in professional grow rooms. It's because under perfect grow room conditions they can get faster and bigger yields from making larger clones and then vegging them to 5 ft tall and flowering them. An auto is programed genetically to do what it's going to do. I'd say my setup is more conducive to growing an auto and I'd probably get bigger yields doing it but thats not my goal. My goal is to learn how to train photoperiods exactly how i'd like as well as studying the math behind lighting and it's effects. It's all about economics of scale for what I do. I can scale up what I do if I'm given the space and time. With an Auto I'd be stuck under a clock. It's about preference honestly. One isn't better than the other. It's all about how you are growing that makes the difference in whats useful. If you want fast and quick weed then autos are the way. That being said you will never catch me growing an auto. I don't mean that in a negative way. I just have different goals and objectives in mind when it comes to my grows. Also, Happy holidays to you as well buddy.

@Sillyasswhitedude, yeah I see that there's not much fade I still see white pistils and you say they're drinking a half a gallon a day so you think you would see some fading but hey like you said it's been 14 days now it's got to be getting some good flushing in my cookies kush grow got a terrible flush and I really didn't notice it in the Smoke other than slightly darker Ash it was smooth and tasty Burns well.

@Bigpun, she is refusing to fade...I have looked her over pretty good and found ONE amber trich...im guessing she has at least 3 ounces on her...I was hoping for this one to be in the comp this month but I don't think she is going to make it in time...she is drinking a half gallon a day still...I could have fed her another week I think but wanted to make sure I had a good flush...today makes her 14th day of it...this should be some smooth smoke with killer quality...I think I'm gonna get lucky and get a DECENT yield too...fingers crossed and thanks for stopping in and saying hello...much respect!!!

@Sillyasswhitedude,not sure why I let some hater cause me to doubt my ability....i've done many indoor and outdoor grows over the years but this is my first hydro/LED... I definitely got this....fuk da haters! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Sillyasswhitedude
Sillyasswhitedude
@JollyGreenGiant,wait to prove him wrong by burning his face off with some harvested sucker punch...its more satisfiying that way...lol...if you have a healthy enough environment and plant you can get a gram per watt is the rule of thumb...im not saying there isn't better lights than LED but LED's have their advantages and suit my growing style very well...lower temps and bills are a big factor for me...they were also cheap for startup lights too...bigger lights are gonna give you bigger yields...but I'm not about all that...I prefer quality...the cheaper operating cost allow me to invest into other areas of the grow I feel are more important...your light equals what mine do combined...you could grow a monster auto or two decent ones under it atleast efficiently
Gr33nGiant
Gr33nGiant
@Sillyasswhitedude,no pics necessary bro...had a guy tell me "I'll never get bud with only 600w(260 draw) LED".... seeing your grow already proven him wrong....thanx again Looking forward to the Suckerpunch harvest pics 🌲🌲🌲

@Bigpun,I absolutely have had my eyes peeled looking for it...so far I'm not seeing any...she is in a pretty tight scrog but a lot of my white hairs died I'm assuming they drowned and she isn't lookin too pretty right now but she is tough and alive still....if anyone could do a sun dance or knows any magic spells they are calling for rain here tomorrow but I have cut down some plastic and will cover her tonight just in case...its hard having an outdoor an indoor because I don't like to travel from one to the other because I'm scarred of transferring bugs and such...BUT I have only 3 weeks at the most left on my outdoor grow...she has been a trooper until she got drenched and I feel horrible for watching her drown...you live and learn though...and its hard to predict good ol motha nature sometimes!!!! and the indoor autos are doing super good...them little buggers didn't get to them much at all...I have some oil on the way to be safe...
