Strawberry mango haze super auto and Panama lime super auto. Both planted in 5 gallon cloth pots on 7/23. SMH sprouted on 7/27. The Panama lime never came up.
I'm growing indoors in a storage closet under my basement stairs. The space is about 4 x 8 with a sloping ceiling height ranging from 8 ft to 3 ft, give or take. Right now I have a 4 x 4 area or it setup, with around 5 ft of height to work with. I have 3 300 watt LED lights. 2 of them are Mars Hydro and 1 is galaxy hydro. So right around 420 actual wattage. I have a 6in carbon filter inline setup but not a whole lot for intake. I'm working on it though, right now I have 2 3inch vent holes cut behind my square fan. I'm the type who wants to constantly be doing or changing something. So I keep messing with my setup. I started with a t5 with 8 bulbs and the Galaxy hydro LED. But after the middle bulbs stopped working I decided to get the Mars lights. It's been a ton cooler in my room without the big t5. I'll probably end up putting it to use at a later time if I decide to use separate spaces for veg and flower.
I've been tinkering around with bag seed for a few months now with little success. Lots of newb shit going on around here. lol. I've had 3 out of 5 end up being male. I had one plant still battling it out until about a week ago. More newb shit. Anyways.... I'm doing this journal retrospectively for the strawberry mango haze that is currently 56 days old (from day the seedling emerged from soil) I also have a bagseed female growing that is 2 months old. The poor thing is doing a reveg though I think (pretty sure... Lowering finger count on leaves) ya know, newb shit. Lol! So, I think that just about covers it. Advice is very much welcome.
SMH at 17 days. I'm not sure what was wrong with the leaves. I put her outside at this point because I was putting 12/12 on some bagseed I had indoor to sex them. I fed her for the first time with FF grow big and micro bloom. 1 tsp per gallon of each
This is the lastest on my strawberry mango haze super auto. She is starting to look so pretty. I'm unsure about the flowering time on her. I've read between 75 and 110 days.
So I'm at day 77 on this super auto. I'm curious how long it will go. I've read 90-100 days. I'm trying to get the hang of looking at trichomes. So far I'm seeing a lot of cloudy but still a good amount that are clear ish.
I'm thinking of doing another big defoliation. I've done it once and it seemed to do good. I'm just terrified of mold or bud rot.
I have no idea what I'm doing or what to expect. Lol. Her leaves look a bit dark. And she has only grown three and one lobed leaves since she started flowering I believe. I'm not sure what that means.
I'm at day 95 on this pretty thing. I keep forgetting to update and check on this journal. Oops. But she seems to be doing okay. I don't think she will be done for another couple of weeks though. There's lots of new white still. I did take off two spots of the plant. I wanted to mess with drying and curing. Plus I'm getting a bit antsy about smoking my very own smoke. It's been a couple of days since I did that and she doesn't seem to care. She doesn't smell great though, which worries me some. But if I pinch a bud or something the smell is seriously so awesome! I hope it's normal. I hadn't fed any nutrients for about a week. Just flushed through a bunch of tap water twice. But since there's still so much new pistils coming in I decided to give some. The trichomes are about 85% cloudy, maybe more. I still suck at using my microscope though so I feel like I'm not very accurate. I think that I'm going to switch my lighting down to 12/12 and let my other plant flower while this one finishes.
So this thing is still just truckin away here. She is packing on more white hairs still and there isn't a whole lot of orange. Day 103. I've started feeding less often and I'm considering not feeding anything except the florablend until I flush.
I did chop off the top 4 or so inches of my main cola. I'm out of smoke and my husband requested that I don't buy anymore. So I hope this ends up being decent even though it isn't done. I can't just not smoke for my birthday or Thanksgiving. Right? Lol but my plant hasn't seemed to be too upset about it. I'm kind of hoping it will help trick her into putting energy into the other branches. I flipped light timers to 12/12 last night. After having switched it to 14/10 two nights prior. I read that will help them to finish up. So yeah. I guess I'll see how it works out.
She is still super white and going strong. I have an area between a couple of buds that I like to stick my finger between. It comes out all sticky and omg the smell is like heaven. This is my favorite part of this growing experience. I might love smelling it as much as I love smoking it. It's almost like a fruity menthol. I have had the lights switched for a week now to 12/12. I've noticed that she is getting a little bit more orange patches. I'm hoping that's a good thing. I haven't added any nutrients this week. I've watered twice. Yeah.. so I'll be waiting around hoping to see this beauty start to finish up. sniffing my finger and stuff. lol
Still watching and waiting. The leaves are starting to change colors so I'm taking that as a good sign. There's still some clear trichomes when I peek at them, but mainly cloudy. I'm thinking I'll do one final flush with water and then stop watering from there. I think she will be ready by the time she dries out again. Yum!
I'm sort of afraid that I'm about to screw everything up. I wanted to chop it so bad this morning. But I resisted. I'm kind of hoping for some advice. Should I be doing anything in particular right now to get her to finish up?
Overall, I think this grow turned out pretty well. Considering all of the stuff I probably did wrong. I learned alot in the last 4 months with her and feel more confident in my growing abilities. I had no idea when I planted my first seeds that there was so much that goes into this. I spend way too many nights lost in research about the growing process or nutrients. But that is probably a good thing. I'm glad that this strain was super resilient and made it a whole 130 days to harvest. I wish I was better prepared for the drying process, that's probably my biggest mistake. I just hope that i end up with "pretty good" smoke when it's all said and done.
Update
After curing for 3 weeks I still don't have a whole lot of great smells happening. It smells amazing once ground up. This girl tastes just like FRUIT LOOPS! So sweet and yummy! When I smoke it I get an overall sense of well being and a nice, slightly energetic high. It's a good day time smoke for me. I have a jar with a boveda 62% pack stashed away for a few more weeks. Hoping to get a more full flavor. It's cold in the basement, like 58-63F. So maybe it's just lengthening the process a bit. (A girl can hope, right?)
