Day 55: Sunday October 6, 2019
1700h
So thursday was day 1 of week #8 from seed; the first week of full strength fertilizer. It was going well until friday night they looked thirsty, and i watered again....with the same water from the day before, rich in nutrients. Cue chemical burn. The stems of my older growth turned deep magenta, an effect i originally enjoyed thinking it was a sign of colourful genetics! The yellowish tinge in the leaves was my first red flag, as that was how we lost TRCBD last month. Once they started to show burn spots i knew my mistake. I pruned off the lower fan leaves, eliminating the purple-stemmed portions of the plant. The main stalk appears to have purple streaks running along it's entire length so we may yet lose her. Only time will tell. All that remains now are the trained newgrowth branches and their soon-to-be-topped offshoots. Their stems are currently healthy green, despite yellowish wrinkly foliage. Hopefully we are not too late. I was planning on lollipopping anyway once the next round of topping resulted in eight heads to spread out, so im not too broken up yet.
2200h
Already looking healthier after the flush. Leaves are puffing up, and colour is deepening. New training wires assembled for improved control.
Day 57: Tuesday October 8, 2019
1500h
Looks like recovery is well under way. Healthy new growth, nice colour, good development speed. Trained all four nodes. Looking to top one final time for eight total primary nodes. Allowing roots to dry out until next week begins on Thurs.
Why is the Tonic Ryder so much smaller than the GG#4 even though i started them on the same day in the same earth? Is it a function of the different genetics or am I screwing up?
It's all about the genetic , some strains are slow to start and some are slow to finish. Some strains are more vigorous than the others but it is not really a clue about the size of the future trees : the smaller could become the bigger
@AncientGreen, Ahh, i have to verify my email to reply! Sorry it took so long, eh. Yes, i figured since its my first time indoors an auto would be a nice starting point. The other one is a photo but i figure ill just keep vegging and topping and lst'ing until the auto is out of the way, then switch to 12/12 and flower the GG#4.
