Rough star stem stretched to 5” first week in its starter pod. Transplanted to 1 gal felt pot. Buried stem to 3/4 in. It took. Yippee. I’m going to use these two to learn HST techniques. Till next week.

Well taking some effort to nurse back. First seedling stretched to 5-6 in. In seed pod. So transplanted and buried into a 1 gal. pot on second week. It took. Buried so deep that roots almost at bottom of pot. So yesterday transplanted to 5 gal.pot. But not before drop and spilled plant and medium all over floor. Roots exposed and broke. Looking a little sick for now. Some leaf discoloration. Time will tell. So I’m going to start diarie of Bruce banner which is other plant in photo. Just want to thank all who follow and comment on this NEWBIEs progress.

Even though looking a little sickly I still topped it. Growth kicked in. I know I damaged some of her root system transplanting. But don’t know if that’s why the main leaves are shiny and browned on edges. Thought it was from transplant shock but I don’t know. Grow On growers

She’s pulling through the stress of dropping her. It’s the the most fragile and feeble plant I’ve grown so far. If it survives. I’ll keep babying her and see what happens.

Defoliated some to let light through. Seems to be doing well. Still a fragile, tender plant. Can’t imagine these stems even holding up a bud but we’ll see. Going to go 12/12 sometime in next week. Till next time Good Luck with ur grows

Came back looking healthy and strong. Still a frail plant but that’s cool. Filled in big time this week. I went 12/12 two days ago. Partial defoliated this morning as photos show. If anyone thinks I’m doing something wrong please let me know because I don’t know any better. See all next week if plant still kicking.

Does anyone condone defoliation about 4-6 weeks into flower? I read conflicting info.

It actually depends on the plant structure and the type of strain. In your case, by looking the structure ( side views and canopy top view ) it’s better to leave it. It has built a nice canopy, not too dense, almost leveled and the legs has been cleaned correctly.

From sickly to super. This plant has bounced back from near death to healthy. She has filled out from last pruning. Starting into full bloom. She’s started her stretch. I changed the led lights over each of the plants. Seem to grow plants differently. One short and bush. The other seems better for veg. and stretch. If any react negatively,I’ll switch back. Any advice is always welcome. As is any criticism.

Week was easy. Plucked a handful of leaves to open up bud sites to light. Taking fert. Well. Starting into stretch and bud growth. So far so good. Think I’ll up fert a little to 75% strength. I’ve always gone 1/2 strength ferts. Just a little more often.

Skipped posting for a week. Didn’t have much change. Stretch is done. Just waiting for buds to fatten up. Seems to be flowering fast. Too fast. Hairs are turning brown yet I thought I had another 8 wks of bloom yet. No way I think this plant may be finished in two to three wks. Hope the buds fill out a lot in that time. Just want to add that the smell of this plant is like concentrated Juicy Fruit gum, to the point of being pungent. Haven’t found a lot of SomangoXXL posts and have never had it myself. So I’m looking forward to tasting it.

She’s one smelly girl. My whole house smells like sweet ripe fruit. Buds are filling out nicely. Leaves are turning. I believe this is partial caused by over fert of the P and K of the NPK. My Bruce Banner is less sensitive to ferts. then this SomangoXXL. The Buds and leaves are covered frosty resins. I just can’t get over the sweet smell this plant puts out. Three more weeks veg. and this plant would have been amazing but I’m still happy with progress. I’m feeling pretty good about myself. Oh well till next time

Good week I’m stoked. This girl is fattening up nicely. Again this is one smelly, frosty basket of sticky gobs waiting to be picked. Did a flush of 5 gals of straight rain water. I figure when completely dry ,She’s done. Did have a bad leaf dying but kind of made the plant easy lol. Received some sound advice the it appeared as a Mag. def. Could be. I know I’ll try more Mag. if problem appears in future grows. He also thought I might have pushed flowering too fast and hard. BINGO That I did. Thank you LaBosanova. With your and other fellow growers help I might pull this growing thing off. Next post we be harvest.

Hello my friend The senescence Late stage in the development of multicellular organisms, during which irreversible loss of function and degradation of biological components take place. Physiological aging process in which cells and tissues deteriorate and eventually die.😎 the senescence is the result of the translocation of the resources, once this phase ended, it is the abscission (fall of the sheet) For cannabis that 🤐means that the day of harvest is not far I invite you to look at my diary First gg and you will understand May the force be with you 💪

Heavy frosted solid buds. Smells so sweet almost sickening. Can’t wait to get this one in jars. There is no keeping this plant a secret. Will weigh and give taste and updates at time completion. I will surely grow this again, especially since I have three seeds left. I would recommend this strain.

Cured harvest did a smell 180. Went from sweet fruity pungent to a smooth caramel cream. Smokes well but needs some cure to bring some harshness out. This plant was so soaked in frosty wet resins I figured it would take some time to mellow out. This is a very high THC strain and that can sometimes effect its smoke smoothness. This is a great grower if not my favorite smoke. The scales say 52.1 gram but I gave away 12 grams before I got to bulk weight it. My plants look to me like more weight then my dry outcome weight. Must be wishful thinking

hey there, looks like magnesium deficiency to me, you can tell from the yellowing between the veins of the leafs, perhaps due to genetics that grow a bit too quick and cant absorb enough beofre they flower hard... so add more cal mag to the feed or more chelation agent or just ignore it : you're close to the finish line by now

@@JP148, you got it growmie glad you figured it out hey! it's all about the results 👍

@CRiSPrGrow, Hi Kong, just wanted to thank you for advice related to my possible need for Cal-Mag. It has been the greatest asset. It’s very easy to use. Almost can’t over cal-Mag and I find since it’s use the ferts. absorption is up. So less ferts are needed thus less chance of root burn. Thanks👍

Hi @@JP148! I usually try to avoid any defoliation or pruning after the 2nd week into the flowering stage. Why? Because I want my plants to focus their energy on building the bud sites, expanding the flowers, and creating loads of resin/trichomes later. A defoliation is a small injury, and an open gate to pest+disease, that's why I do not recommend to do it, unless it's really required (very high humidity / serious lack of light / non-existent airflow). Looking at your plant, it seems that all the main colas are exposed to the light, and not too close to each others, therefore I do not see the need to defoliate. Hope this will help, let me know in the comments section if you need any further information. Happy growing! 👊

JP148commented5 years ago
@Buddha2, thanks. Plant was a pretty beast. Would have rated it a ten but it kept a bit of harshness, even after good cure. Gives a great combo high. Like the Bruce Banner Sativa at first, Indica finish. Weedseedsexpress has consistently provided some kick ass quality seed. Never had to drop more beans then I wanted plants 💪👍

Though topic. 10 growers will give you 10 different answers. Personally I tried and don't like it. Best advice is to try and make your opinion. I only defoliate to improve air circulation and reduce humidity.
