Pot_Portraits Im doing a DWC experiment with Bio Bizz nutrients in a Neptune DWC bucket with 2 airstones under 150W for veg, if something happens and the plant survives it goes under 400W HID.
Strain is Critical Auto.

Pot_Portraits Week 2, after a super slow start it finally kind of grows. The rate is not very impressive but like I said this is an experiment. It could be strain related as the outdoor plants from the same strain also don't go anywhere.
Lets see how it develops this week.

Pot_Portraits Week 3: Finally the plant seems to take off, its 3 times the size compared to the outdoor plants i have of this strain ( germinated the same day).
As I have zero experience with DWC I just keep adding bio heaven and see how it does over the next few day :D The ppm is around 640 now, no clue if that is good or bad in this stage of growth.
Question to the Hydroponics people, does any of you have a good source on PPM and feeding schedules for hydro ? I understand hydro growing but not sure on the numbers yet. I feed Bio Bizz nutrients only. Is Bio Heaven enough for the grow period ?
Bio heaven is never enough, it is a additive that doesn't contain everythings the plants needs to thrive. You can find the hydro chart of every nutrients brands with Google and generally the hydro chart is the same for DWC ( sometimes the brand can make a different schedule if you are using a recirculating system or a system like yours ). You can grow hydro with Bio bizz BUT they are better in soil or coco , in hydro I prefer to go with mineral feeding to avoid bad smells
Pot_Portraits Well the DWC plant somehow managed to do very well, I trained it early and today I gave it a selective deleafing. Has a good shape and is in flower now, can't wait to see how it does over the next few weeks.
Considering how little i do to keep the setup going I can see why people grow in DWC, less work in total, yes checking the PH twice a day is a bit anoying but i can live with that.

Pot_Portraits Well what can I say, even though she shouldn't do well she does, grow very nicely, changed the water recently and she just thrives on just a bit of biobizz, lets see how long she keeps doing this well.
Very happy with the results so far, i trained her a lot to spread her out more, she is taking over the tent soon.

Pot_Portraits Do you know the meme with the dog in a chemistry lab and it says : I have no idea what i'm doing. That's how DWC felt for the first few weeks. I reached week 8 now and the plant just explodes with growth even though i'm using Bio Bizz fertilizer.
But here we are with a pretty decent sized plant, lets see what happens in the next few weeks but she is healthy and grows very fast now. The solution is only at around 850 ppm, normally at this stage it should be higher, I will try to get it up a bit during the next weeks.

Pot_Portraits So here is the DWC grow that shouldn't work, she is growing nicely and the buds grow nice and steady, I started adding cal mag as she showed slight deficiency. So far i'm happy with the grow and surprised how well she does with organics only.
Along the grow I always did some selective defoliation, It seems autos don't care at all about that in DWC, I removed leaves every second day and never once did the plant look stressed or did stop growing.
Gonna continue with the same formula and see how she looks in a week or 2. So far I can say this seems like it will be the biggest yielding autoflower I ran so far.

Pot_Portraits Week 10, I changed to GHE, im planning another run with GHE so I started the critical on it as well.
She still grows but I will need something for the roots, might go with hydroguard.
Added calmag as she showed deficiency.

Pot_Portraits Last update before I chop this auto, she is flushing now, will put her in 48 hours of darkness and then cut her.
Took some final shots today, she is fading quickly, the good thing about DWC.
Beautiful smell, great amount of resin and super smooth and good tasting smoke.

Pot_Portraits Well what can I say, she was way bigger than i expected. I guess as a soil grower I just have to get used to the fact that Hydro is just more efficient and if the strain allows you can grow some pretty big trees in water. I used Bio Bizz for the most part of the grow and it worked pretty amazing. I finished the grow with GHE Nutrients because I wanted to use those for the next grow anyway. The buds are have a beautiful resin cover on them, nice trichome structure. The smoke is extremely smooth, I flushed pretty long (7 Days).
Overall this grow was a lot of fun as it was just an experiment and ended up to be a good harvest which will mostly go into medical oil production. Only jarred 1 huge jar and 2 medium jars as smoking material.
@Pot_Portraits, Also, can you please check the two last pictures I post on my journal? Itβs from an auto I have on my grow room (5 weeks of flower) I am not really sure when I have to harvest, its my first grow
