Really excited to try this strain, I've seen that people are getting great results from it. Hope to do it justice :) The plan for these plants is to transplant them to 5 gallon smart pots, give them some KIS water-only soil and give a light feed during flower. I'm also considering under-filling the smart pots so that they're in around 3 gallons of soil, due to this being an auto. This is my first auto grow so I'm looking forward to seeing the difference in growth rate/yield that I get. I will be flipping the light to 18/6 when I have them all situated. This is the first of 5 Royal Cookies Autos that I will grow, another will be growing alongside this one. I like to germinate seeds one at a time so the other one is currently in paper towel. Big thanks to RQS for supplying the top-notch genetics.

Growing at a steady rate, I will early transplant this in hopes of the plant not going into shock, as this is in auto and I started it in a pot thats smaller than it will eventually need. In the future, I will start these in bigger pots. I still haven't started the other plant which I will be growing of this strain, and I will put it in directly in a 5 gallon container. update: transplanted into 5 gallon smart pot, I was too rough with her and I thought she might go into shock, and she did. I'm gonna leave her alone so she can recover a bit. Totally my fault though. update2: recovered 12 hours later, super quick recovery :)

Growing very quickly, clearly likes the size upgrade on the pot. I'm starting one of its sisters soon and that one will be started directly in the 5g pot :)

These genetics are crazy! Highly recommend. The plant I have growing next to it (different strain/breeder) is having problems but this one is thriving. I have just started LST and will continue to bend it over the next couple of days. Flower should be starting soon.

I'm amazed the tops are so level, The only low stress training I did was in week 4-5 on the top cola and yet the plant has grown in a really uniform way. Bud sites are growing like crazy and pistils are shooting out. Looking forward to seeing her bloom. Tempted to feed bloom nutes but this soil is very hot so I'm holding back. Tent is getting slightly cramped, mostly due to the cbd plant next to this one, but whenever this plant is done that will be less of an issue. No deficiencies/problems so far so I'm feeling good. Fungus gnats in the tent but they're mostly harmless and from the soil. Have some sticky traps which seem to be working.

Plant's been showing underwatering signs (wilting) which it recovers from within 12 hours of watering. This was happening 3 days after watering and now its happened 2 days after the previous watering. The plant has also started to show brown spots which I am opening a grow question about. I ph'd the tap water that I use ages ago, and it was around 7.0. I just checked it and now it reads 7.8. I have given it some fox farm in hopes of covering any possible deficiency it might be experiencing (I'm thinking it could be phosphorous) and this also lowered the ph of the water to around 6.5 (with the help of a little vinegar as well). I'm hoping by covering both bases the plant will recover from whatever the issue is. I have fed only a light amount of fox farm (1/4 strength) because I know that this soil is hot and I dont want to add overfeeding to this issue if it isn't due to a deficiency. Hoping for a quick recovery, and I'm hoping that I didn't stunt the plant too bad so far. I'm very glad I started the other royal cookies plants after this one, as I will know how to avoid this problem with them. Overall, I think this plant should be able to bounce back and produce good bud, but time will tell.

Been wilting every 2-3 days and then recovers after watering. Brown spots appeared in the last 24 hours. Pictures of leaves off and on the plant in latest week's pictures. Water ph'd very high (7.5+) and I have lowered to 6.5 for this watering with 1/4 strength nutes and vinegar.

In my opinion you can go higher in nutients ( nitrogen) shes shooting and will need that. Same to water... Plants that size need more/ more often water. They are looking alittle pale , i would go with acalmag product between the feedings........

Smells up the whole room. Great scent. Totally recovered from last week. Back to impressive growth and pistils being thrown out like crazy. Definitely was an underwatering problem (thanks everyone that helped) but I'm sure the added nutes and PHing are helping too. I've also raised the light because one of the plants at the same height is showing what seems to be light burn. This plant will be finishing later than it is supposed due to the underwatering stunting it, and I hope it doesn't affect the end result too much. Some of these pictures are from 2 days after the others, and they are labeled. The earlier pictures are at the end (unlike usual) because I'm too lazy to move them individually.

Huge nugs are shaping up. Definitely finishing later than these usually do, due to me stunting it, but I'm happy to wait. The tent is starting to get super crowded but I'm gonna push it until this plant is done. Just feeding tiger bloom at this point, hoping that will be sufficient. Might give it one more week of feeding and then switch to PH'd water. This plant is shaping up to be the best I've grown, which is surprising given the amount of stress I've given it. The stem is super thick and the canopy is relatively even. Looking forward to getting pictures of its skeleton at the end of the grow and seeing how much she'll yield. I'm curious on the best way to dry the nugs outside of the tent. Anyone have any thoughts? I've seen people dry in a shoebox/cardboard box, I might take that route. Thanks for checking out the diary :)

Amazing genetics. Best buds I've grown for sure. The structure and progress is amazing. Can't wait to harvest, hoping to harvest within 1-2 weeks but I will check the trichomes to make sure. I have a usb microscope so I will be sure to upload photos of the amber trichs :) If I get 2 oz out of her I'll be so happy, I'm not really sure on what her weight will be though. The other 2 I didn't LST like this one, so it will be interesting to compare this one to them. I'm thinking this one will be hard to beat though :) Despite some of the harsh treatment she's received she's doing great :) Photos in natural lighting due to a request from Mrs_Larimar, you can what's going on much better. I will do the rest of the diary like this. Thanks for checking out the diary! :)

Great high/flavor despite being cut about a week early. Definitely a vigorous and hardy automatic for any level of growing knowledge. I made at least 2 major mistakes and she still provided beautifully, with a yield of over 2 ounces without trim. A+

Had humidity problem in the last week, and had mold on the grow bags. Despite this, the entire plant was mold free, and has been dried and cured perfectly. Despite the early harvest (with quite a few clear trichomes) the plant still provided amazingly. I am definitely still learning this hobby and my equipment isn't perfect, so experienced growers should expect amazing things from these seeds, and an even bigger harvest. Thank you RQS for the seeds and KIS Organics for the soil 👍

Hi its very rare that grower give less... and its the better way. Plants can handle it very well. But for flowering you should water her more/ more often ( i water daily in flower). So that she dont have to be afraid to dry out. Give her nice amounts of water and nutes and she will look in 2 days very good. ( and the leaves will get more green in around a week) so keep it up.. and happy growing

@Mrs_Larimar, I got one with 2 percent calcium + iron, I'll start giving her some between feedings. She recovered again 24 hours after watering and then I watered again and she seems to be fine so far so I think you were right about the underwatering, thanks again! :)

@NipplesMD,Canna got single products without nattrium. me personally prefer single products... to adjust he calcium and magnesium defs.......but you can go with nearly every calmagproduct just thinking about the nitrogen.....that is contained too. if you get one with around 2 percent nitogen, i see no big problems nearly ever fertiliser company has quite similar products............................

NipplesMDcommented5 years ago
@Mrs_Larimar, thanks so much as always, I think you're right about needing to water every day. Could you recommend a good calmag supplement? I have relatively hard water (I'm on a well) so I haven't worried about calcium before this grow :)

@Mrs_Larimar, Just checked under the branches, humidity all the way up to 66%! Thanks for the warning. I've taken some of the leaves off that were touching/shading bud sites (10 maximum), and I've lowered the side fan to right above this plant + increased the speed of the output fan to max, anything else I should do? I could find a spot for one of the other ones for a week if that's how long it needs. I could also turn up speed of side fan, I haven't before because it's quite close to the ladies. Definitely don't want any mold after all this work! I will definitely inspect her fully tomorrow to make sure there isn't some already.

@Mrs_Larimar, Humidity in the room that the tent is in is really low because of the heating that the house has, we've been in the 40's recently (I forgot to update the journal before). I'm gonna check the humidity below the leaves soon just to be sure. The leaves are really crowded though you're right, should I maybe defoliate? I haven't done anything like that because this is my first auto grow and I really didn't want to stress them. Thanks for the comments as always. I'll give the pup a big hug for you.

Leaves can wilt if the roots are starved from oxygen. is it possible that she's a bit overwatered? it would explain the brown spots on the leaves as well. I just experienced this on a previous grow. I thought it was thirsty because the leaves would wilt and when I watered she would look fine for a day but wilt again. found out I was starving the roots of oxygen.

NattyMedscommented5 years ago
@NipplesMD, Thats exactly what I did too. If the PH adjusted water doesn't seem to help I would let it dry out for like 5-7 days. I know it sounds like suicide but at this point if it is overwatered its easier to do more damage watering than letting her get bone dry. I hope it ends up being the PH and she snaps out of it! 😊
NipplesMD
NipplesMDcommented5 years ago
@NattyMeds, I'm not sure at this point, I started watering more frequently due to the wilting and it seems to be getting worse so its very possible. I'm not sure what to do with the opinion being so split haha. The soil seems dry when I water though (I stick my finger in). It's gonna be harder to tell after today, because I've covered the soil with sand to get rid of fungus gnats.

Friend! great diary so far !!! you're doing a great job.👊 I'm also growing this strain, at the beginning I had some problems, but now they are bombs! 💣💥 Go man, keep it up !!! 💪

This looks like over watering issues and possibly nitrogen toxicity. Slow down on the waterings and nutrients for a full week or two and it will be fine. Cheers 😊✌️
GreenHeart420
GreenHeart420commentedweek 75 years ago
Also. In flower the plant needs less nitrogen and more phophorus 😉
the end.
