I'm so glad that this girl is so agreeable and low maintenance.
From day 1 she never asked for anything more than I gave. Instead she would curl up at the fox farm veg stage nutes because she didn't enjoy the higher levels
She prefers organic but thrives on minimal attention.
We ended up cutting her top because she was so out of control with her growth and shes still the tallest I've grown to date (with her clones about to pass her up)
Thrichome production is amazing.
Shes covered like my gorilla glue and smells better.
I am expecting a extremely high potency just by looking at the thrichome covered fan leaves.
At the moment her scent is not at all banana like. It's got a very distinctive citrus scent on top of pine followed by fruit flowers.
Her calyx are swelling and her darker color is beginning to become a more bright green as the parts of her that haven't seen light are now exposed.
Her darkness diminished as she was exfoliated for one last time removing anything that was without thrichomes (and a few that did as well) .
My canna worms are gonna be happy this month
Shes actually quite hard for being on the airy side. She's not as open or airy as the breeders description suggested but she is overly dense either. Due to her heavy indica lineage she's got a very high bud to leaf ratio making her perfect for humid tropical climates or conditions.
An airy disposition actually works well for our region. Her sister gold leaf ended up with a touch of bud rot because she was too tight and dense even for our indoor grow room.
When it comes to cloning shes perfect for beginners.
She practically clones herself lol. A broken end of a branch was placed into a cup of our coir medium and within a week under the lamps she had obviously taken root.
So needless to say, its obvious by my 4 more flowering banana kush plants following her, that I love this strain.
That says a lot since I've never ever tried her before and I chose her by reading descriptions and reviews.
There's so much more I can and will add once the harvest is completed but I wanted to take a moment and give a good review and description.
The genetics deserve the compliment.
Reading the breeders description I was warned that it wasn't easy and that experienced growers should have no problem but I decided to try anyway and well apparently I got a good phenotype because she has been the least needy plant I've grown to date and so have been her clones.
Her yield isn't gonna be as big as the gold leaf but itll still be great compared with the baby autos I've grown in the past.
I'll write a full review from start to finish on the ILGM website as well as on my final entry after harvest/dry/cure but until then I felt as though this plant/strain is very under estimated and should be more popular.
Especially with a 27% thc.
Anyway, I'd recommend the Banana Kush feminized seeds. I got mine from ILGM seedbank because they have a 100% germination policy that replaces every seed of theirs that doesn't pop (I've already had 3 replaced with 5 more of each type) without any hassle.
But that's my opinion and choice as everyone has their own preferences.
They dont pay me for or even know that I'm writing this.
